[SC] Snow Crows - 4 Man Keep Construct Posted: 09 Nov 2021 08:01 AM PST (Stijn here, I've been asked to post in Westet's stead because he's unable to and I was a part of the project in its early stages, massive bravo to these 4 absolute units of men for having the tenacity to pull through with this project.) Hi all, Westet here. It might not be immediately apparent from the title, but KC is intended to be done with at least 6 players due to the "Greens" phase: After breaking the boss' breakbar you need 2 players in each of the green circles in order to succeed the mechanic. Failure in doing so will result in an immediate wipe. There have been kills with less than 6 people in the past, where the strategy would just be to not cc the boss in order to avoid the greens altogether. That method locks you out of burst phases however and requires careful handling of the spirits or a composition with as little cc as possible. Doing this with four players would mean hitting the enrage timer pretty early making it especially hard to survive in the later phases of the fight. The strategy we went with allowed us to avoid this issue: I first saw a mention of weird green placement on the Crossroads Inn discord where someone posted a log of their team wiping on KC while standing at the usual green location but the green circle in the log was displayed a bit behind them. As it turns out, Xera's phantasms, the adds that spawn in the center of these green circles, can be moved at will during a very small window after they've spawned, just like the charged souls on Gorseval (which we abused in our record a year ago) because their hidden stability buff hasn't been applied yet. So in comes our strategy, we simply pull 2 of them on top of each other. However, unlike Gorse's charged souls, the timing of this pull is extremely inconsistent. We believe the window is much smaller than on gorse, but the main reason is that the only reliable tell we found to know when to pull was the big orb spawning in the middle. You need to roughly count to 3 after the orb has initially spawned. Waiting for the adds' names to appear before pulling wasn't working for us at all and to give you an idea of how rough the timing is, Dragon's Maw isn't even fast enough to trigger to pull them. Now to find the best way to stack two phantasms on top of each other. There have been a few ideas, fiddling around with sanctuary to push them multiple times, hoping you could make a network of mines using Gadgeteer, but the best way we found was Temporal Curtain on Mesmer. It has a range of 600 around the center and the distance between the two closest spirits is around 1240 units. We therefore assumed 2 curtains were needed for 1 add each, which gave us various degenerative diseases in the process. Then we noticed that the hitbox size matters, allowing us to pull both of them with one curtain if positioned very precisely. That method means you can have two Mesmers trying to pull at the same time effectively doubling your chances of success. That solves the green phase problem, which is the biggest one in this kill, but we still had to decide how to deal with regular mechanics: -For the big expanding circles, you can survive 4 of them overlapping but everyone will be very low and down to anything hitting them afterwards. -For the colored clones, we just used the druid's nature spirit to survive them. This does mean that we only got one spirit per phase, forcing us to cc early if we got bad rng. -Lastly, fixations were handled like you would in a regular clear of mid KC : delay one of them and kill the other on the boss, then bring it over and kill it on the boss. You need to get the phantasm pull three times in one pull to kill the boss with this strategy, which took us A LOT of tries to achieve (about 600 C: ), and even with 5 orbs burst phases you end up with an almost 10 min long kill. All in all a good time :) Many thanks to everyone who participated, even if only a few evenings: Jerry, Alex, Stijn, Nika, Skiiney, Cody, Dragonback, Alcatraz Greatly appreciated <3 Here are the pov's : [link] [comments]
It would be cool if completing all Skritt Burglar events would reward the backpack skin. Posted: 09 Nov 2021 04:08 AM PST I love these big chunky back pieces, I haven't changed my zephyr rucksack since I got it way back during the first festival. I think it would be a cool, easy to add for Anet, new collection with a somewhat unique reward. You don't see too many rucksacks/similar looking back pieces out there. What do you think? How early did the community figure out the big Sylvari plot twist? Posted: 08 Nov 2021 10:29 PM PST ^Title. I played at launch, but didn't really get into the game until early 2018. I jumped in with some vague memories of the 1-80 story and bits and pieces of season1, but didn't buy season 2 until after I'd finished HoT. Experiencing those two stories in reverse, it seems like it would be obvious- Jungle vineyboy starts waking up, but also just east of that some new plant people turned up 20 some odd years ago, not suspicious at all! But I'm wondering when did the theories first surface in relation to the story release? I know this community has some crazy clever lore nerds who were dead on with the s4 ep 6 beginning months before it came out along with some other really good predictions If anyone happens to have old reddit posts related to this, please hook me up! Madame Cookie Additional Dialogue Possibly Explained Posted: 08 Nov 2021 09:07 PM PST The other day it was mentioned in the Extra Life stream that there were missing dialogue options on the wiki for Madame Cookie. Since then, the missing options have been found, but not the requirements. Two of these options I am 99% sure I know the requirements for. After Madame Cookie says "That's for sure. You kids with your dragons and your improperly bound magics... No decent offerings. No respect for your elders" and you respond, she can either reply with "Oh, perhaps I've said too much. I thought it was the new fashion for you people to purposely skew your spirit lines" or "Oh, perhaps I've said too much. I thought it was the new fashion for you people to douse your inner sight in gunk." I believe these are based on whether your account has either used the Shadowstone, or used Maezz's krait oil during Burden of Choice, respectively. Only a handful of hours are left for testing, but if people who have done this achievement and remember their choice can find Madame Cookie and confirm if you get the first option if you picked Priory, and the second option if you picked Consortium, please provide your results in the comments. Keep in mind you can't have candy corn in your inventory to get the dialogue options. Edit: I'd also like to test a theory that the third option "Oh, perhaps I've said too much. What's the worst you could do? Send us all toppling into the void?" could be based on if you have used the Class II Rift Stabilizer to send Auris Weirdbringer through time by standing in his workshop's gate for 97 seconds. Otherwise idk what might be causing that one. [link] [comments]

How would you sell your favourite profession? Posted: 09 Nov 2021 12:38 AM PST Hi everyone, I am a new player to this game so a friend and I made our first characters and starter playing but despite liking most of the classes (pretty much everything with medium/light armor) I am not fully convinced by any of them. I know what they do, I tried them at least for 15 levels each and still cannot decide so I suppose the best question to ask is: how would you sell your favourite class to someone that knows what they do but doesn't know how they feel? For those who played the betas, do you see any new spec viable with another weapon? Posted: 09 Nov 2021 01:25 AM PST I enjoy unique builds but didn't have a chance to play the beta. I'm interested in the viability of new spec builds that combo well with weapons outside of their new unlocks. For instance, longbow untamed or d/d catalyst. Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Just finished my Condi Firebrand Posted: 08 Nov 2021 02:20 PM PST I just started getting into Condi Firebrand... and oh man! My main since forever is a power berserker. Had the idea for a condi firebrand and started making one, now its finally complete, and oh boy. Its just so different to play compared to a power build. Its my first time playing condi and the rotation is a bit more complicated than on power berzerk, so my brain is kinda melting but its SO fun its just SO DIFFERENT to play. I am so amazed that I play this game for 9 years and I can STILL DISCOVER SOMETHING NEW that is so new and different that it makes my brain hurt because I have to completely learn jt from scratch. I still LOVE my berserker and its STILL my MAIN FOREVER! But the guardian is NICE too!! PEACE FOLKS ✌️ [link] [comments]
I really liked Heart of Thorns, but I'm having trouble with Path of Fire... Posted: 08 Nov 2021 04:04 PM PST After getting over the initial grind of HoT, I started, and stayed really into HoT. The story was great, the atmosphere, and my god the music! When I hear the ambiance of VB it gives me chills, and the calm that AB gives me just makes me so happy! I still to back and visit the zones just for a nostalgia hit. I just finished PoF story, and have done map completion on most of the maps, think I lack just 2 now. I've also joined a number of 'champ trains' to take out the legendaries and a handful of champ mobs. but I'm just having trouble "feeling it" with these zones. I dont feel driven to do the bounties, and find that when I've tried, I end up either standing around waiting for others who want to help, or running into a bug like behavior of instant failing them as soon as I pick them up with the message "your target has escaped" I dislike the constant swapping of mount types to get around the maps, (I do not have grif, or drake yet) or the 'unfriendly' surprises that exploration gives you with getting hooked off your mount into an instant death, acid/sulfur pools, the lack of way point, or something not sure. What do you like to do? what drives you to keep going? I'm currently grinding to get gold to convert to gems to do the LS4 story, so that I can grind more to get gold to get the the last 2 mounts...though I find myself logging in to do dailies or what not and just standing around being bored. lol. Describe your cosmetic preferences Posted: 08 Nov 2021 03:57 PM PST I've given some example cosmetic categories. If your look can't be adequately labelled as such, feel free to add your own. Grimdark Dark blacks and reds. Holier than Thou The complete opposite, with whites and golds. Black and White You're a creative guy, just like everyone else. That's why the black and white dyes are all expensive. Realistic Earth and metal tones, no bright colors or particle effects. Decorative but Practical Largely realistic with color accents used sparingly. Low Fantasy Take decorative but practical, add subdued particle effects. Bright and Colorful Multiple bright colors to stand out. High Fantasy Multiple bright colors with added particle effects, but not overwhelmingly so. LOOK AT ME, I'M SPECIAL!!! Only the most expensive dyes, gear, and over the top particle effects will do for you. Reddit claims to dislike you because you make their eyes bleed, but they are really just jealous of your incredible wealth. [link] [comments] |
