There really needs to be a purchased version of the game that includes the LWS Posted: 12 Aug 2021 07:59 PM PDT Having gone through the story with the new free releases, soooo much happens in it. New players joining the game going straight into HoT into PoF would be absolutely confused as all hell and put off massively. So why isn't there a new starter pack or something that's the base game + all Living World releases? Would be ridiculously useful for new players and make them actually able to follow the story. Which would in turn make them far more inclined to stay up to date with new LWS and become returning players. [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Aug 2021 02:52 AM PDT Really a cool and informative idea to put such NPCs in the maps. I wonder if all specs have those. I guess I have to start my own collection to hunt those - feels like a fun thought. This is the NPC, you can read the dialogue in the link. The event nearby even has a rare dropchance of a mini of him. [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 Aug 2021 08:56 AM PDT Went through some MMO soul searching lately. If you want to call it that. Went back to WoW. Went back to FF14. Went back to Albion and even UO and WAR. Saw no reason not to fire up GW2 since I bought all this content years ago and never really played it. Plus, no subscription or pay to win. The reasons I stopped playing originally are still good ones but boy have I missed this combat. I have a new found respect for the content in Guild Wars 2 and my value from it. If I weigh what I've spent on other games and compare it to the fun I had it was really, mostly, just a waste of time. Now that's not true for all of 'em but certainly many. So, I'm scraping the bitterness off my shoe and having some genuine fun. I hope it can spread and attract more to the game. After reading the rules of this here sub I probably am in violation of it's tenets. Being as this is a low effort adulation but I've never much cared for too many rules. So, thanks for being a nice community and a fun one. Here's to ya. [link] [comments]
PSA for new players: use a Waypoint when you die during an Event Posted: 13 Aug 2021 09:50 AM PDT After running the meta in Draconis Mons recently, I noticed a lot of players remaining dead on the boss platforms instead of waypointing out. This isn't a new problem, and happens often at larger metas such as Tequatl, but I figured it was worth posting about anyway. If you are near an event, you increase the event's difficulty. In the case of a boss event, this means increasing the boss' stats. Even if you are defeated, you still increase the event's difficulty as long as you are nearby. This makes it more challenging for players who remain alive, to the point that the event can time out and fail if too many people remain dead. In addition to this, it's much more difficult to revive a player who is defeated instead of being downed. Downed players can't contribute to their own resurrection, and because the person reviving them is likely in combat, it'll be even slower. To help keep events simpler for everyone, just travel to the nearest waypoint when you die, instead of waiting to be revived. You almost certainly won't lose participation just from another 10-30 seconds of travel from a waypoint, so there's no reason not to. [link] [comments]

New Elite Spec Order On Website Posted: 12 Aug 2021 03:13 PM PDT https://www.guildwars2.com/en/end-of-dragons/ So after the Reveal of Willbreaker, i was wondering if they updated the website, and it turns out they had!. The Icons are now at the bottom, and you can select an icon to get info on the spec (if it was released yet). The most notable thing for me is the fact that its now in the release order (for the first 3 anyways). There was 1 icon moved around (what we think is the ranger icon), as it was swapped with the Harbinger Icon. What are your guys thoughts [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 Aug 2021 09:13 AM PDT Hey uh, I know EoD is the stuff right now, but it would be nice to be able to pose your character similar to how FFXIV does it given there's a lot of people who would like to take pretty screenshots with their characters. Wouldn't that be a nice addition? [link] [comments]
