Looking for a long term GW Buddy Posted: 30 May 2020 09:14 AM PDT Not sure if it's allowed, if not, sorry. As the title says, i'd like to find someone who's like minded to join forces and play together. Since i'm returning after many years, i'd like to start a new char and slowly (no need to rush) journey accross the campaigns. I would be interested in completing everything because i have the game for over 10 years and i never cared about titles, only gold and SC... I'd like the opposite now, maybe even slowly working towards GWAMM. Would prefer commiting to all mission bonus, doing them in hard mode and eventually do zaishen dailies (long term objective). Of course, this would all be much more enjoyable with someone and not alone. Sadly i don't have much time to play (nor i'm looking to grind/rush through things 10 hours a day)... I do try to play at least 1 to 2 hours a day at night (GMT) and it would be awesome to have someone that wants to progress with a character at the same time, step by step. Thanks. Posted: 30 May 2020 01:44 PM PDT Over the Limit (E), Swirling Aura, Magnetic Aura, Magnetic Surge, Glyph of Elemental Power, Elemental Lord, Armor of Frost, OPTIONAL Water Magic - 12 +1 +3 Energy Storage - 11 +1 Earth Magic - 6 +1 Weapons - +1 attribute (master of my domain or of <attribute>) set for Energy Storage and Earth Magic. Armor - Radiant or Blessed Insignias, Vitae or Attunement. Idea is to use the overload and reduced recharge from OtL to power up Swirling, Magnetic Aura and Magnetic Surge for party-wide buffs. Boosting Swirling up to 20 with a combination of GoEP, Elemental Lord and Armor of Frost gives 5s of +8 regen and a 50% chance to block ranged. Magnetic Aura is like a party-wide Reversal of Damage, and Magnetic Surge blocks the next attack for 4s. Been going through Factions HM with this, reduced recharge of OtL means you're almost always casting Swirling or one of the Magnetic spells. The trick is to cast OtL, and then 3 revolutions of your 3 main spells. Then dismiss OtL and go through your spells one last time. This is normally enough time to wipe a normal mob, and running between mobs is enough time for the overcast to disappear. Heavy enchant removal is a bit of a pain, but nothing has a very long cooldown or high energy cost so it's manageable. [link] [comments]
What's up with vigor rune prices? Posted: 31 May 2020 01:28 AM PDT I never knew why something sold by merchants had dynamic pricing. Makes me sad that I can't purchase at least a major vigor rune just because, well, people buy them. [link] [comments]
Did the new skills actually shake up the meta? Posted: 31 May 2020 12:46 AM PDT I took a break for 6 month and just saw the new skills? Did they change any meta builds? [link] [comments]
Glyph of Energy + Arcane Mimicry + Over the Limit Posted: 30 May 2020 05:57 PM PDT First off do not get your hopes up - and don't expect me to try this; I don't have Over The Limit on my ele due to the meh it is. Plus my assassin with shadow theft/unsuspecting and Fiber farming has kept me content. This is more of one of those issues Magic the Gathering has. Notice the issue here: Glyph of EnergyGlyph of Energy
Elite Glyph. Your next 1...3...3 spell[s] [does/do] not cause Overcast and cost[s] [sic] 10...22...25 less Energy to cast. Your elemental attributes are increased by 1...2...2. Concise description Elite Glyph. Your next 1...3...3 spell[s] [does/do] not cause Overcast and cost[s] [sic] 10...22...25 less Energy. Gain 1...2...2 to all elemental attributes. Not posting arcane mimicry - you should know it copies an allies elite by now. Over the LimitOver the Limit 📷
Elite Enchantment Spell. While you maintain this enchantment, your spells cast 15...19...20% faster, and recharge 15...43...50% faster, but you continuously gain Overcast. PvE Skill Concise description Elite Enchantment Spell. Spells cast 15...19...20% faster and recharge 15...43...50% faster. Continuously gain Overcast while active. PvE Skill In theory, the casting of Glyph should negate Over the Limit (The Glyph has " Has no duration (this is one of the few skills that last indefinitely without an upkeep). " according to the wiki. Now this part has no purpose, but Over the Limit is maintained until cancelled. Thus, should one not cancel or lose the enchantment - one should NOT get overcast. As the overcast begins with the activation of the skill (even though it is not an upfront 5,10, etc. penalty such as Meteor Shower) it still is part of it. Further, the glyph literally states the spell with flat out "NOT CAUSE OVERCAST" Period. In no way is it indicating when the spell or how the spell causes overcast - it is to no cause overcast. TLDR: I have not tried this combination. I feel with 99% confidence that the overcast will be caused regardless of the glyph's ability that is copied from an ally. As such, duel Over the Limit match ups for trading elites that only need to be done once - is just a sad forgotten theorycraft. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 May 2020 08:39 PM PDT I've sent ticket a couple of days ago to try and get my access to my old account as the SMS authentication is for my old cell number and I can't remember the password. It's been a week and I haven't gotten a response except for the automated one. Does it usually take long to get a response? [link] [comments]
The Anniversary Scythe "Sufferer", doesn't trigger physical damage skills, right? Posted: 30 May 2020 06:37 AM PDT The Anniversary Scythe "Sufferer", doesn't trigger physical damage skills, right? So something like Order of the Vampire won't trigger, correct? [link] [comments]
Beginner player - help me choose profession Posted: 30 May 2020 10:46 AM PDT Hello everyone, just as the title says I'm a beginner player (I've played GW2 and figured that it's time to get to know the first game, I mained a mesmer before the great nerf and then switched to a guardian) looking forward to start my first character in Guild Wars. I've read a few old reddit posts and I'm quite confused as for what to choose for my main profession. I'm most interested in ranger, mesmer, monk and elementalist. I'd like to have good survivability, aoe and support options. I'm going to play the game with my boyfriend (also a beginner) who has chosen to play as an elementalist, we've decided to play in the Prophecies campaign. Any tips would be appreciated! Posted: 30 May 2020 02:20 PM PDT Hey everyone, I just came back to the game after a break of several years. Are there any people from Europe that are playing regularly? Maybe an active guild that dies any kind of stuff together? [link] [comments]
