The creator of TacO is now unemployed. If you love his tool, I think now is the perfect time to donate.

I know that because he just released an experimental version with Multibox Support I saw the message there.

"With my current jobless situation, donations through the paypal button to the right are quite welcome ;)"

We should be pushing for GUILD mount skins as in-game skin rewards.

    Posted: 30 May 2020 01:04 AM PDT

Anet, you started a smart trend with the warclaw that doesn't interfere with the gem store designs! Continue the guild warclaw trend in a future guilds update (if that ever happens) for the other mounts! i have enjoyed buying the skins to support anet because ive gotten a decent amount of mileage out of customizing them for different characters. To be honest though I've burnt myself out on them and likely won't be buying any more from the gem store, so I'll have to find another thing worth buying the next time I go into the gem store to support the third expac and anet in general. I honestly think Anet has enough skins to cycle all of the sets we have now throughout the year, and should start scaling back the designer resources used to make them, but that's just my opinion. Everything below this paragraph is really just my anecdotal experiences on how rng can sometimes ruin the enjoyment of things I already accepted the rng nature of in order to obtain, to speak again to the benefit of using rng in moderation and how in game rewards avoid the problems described much more easily, if not entirely.

I was in a bad place when I spent the majority of the money I spent on mount skins due to the rng nature sucking me in the wrong way (my own fault of course, this game was one of the first things to open my eyes to my own impulsiveness). It eventually just felt bad to use most of the mounts because I felt like I had to put a skin on them and I actually stopped using certain mounts because I didnt want to look at the skins I no longer felt happy having. I remember the very first mount skin I earned was the badlands stalker, from the og rng chest, and i absolutely LOVED IT. Don't get me wrong, the skins are absolutely fucking amazing and I love the way people incorporate them into their fashion wars, but the path this one good rng led me down ruined them all for me personally. If I had just called it a day and stuck with that one skin, I would probably be using it right now. That was the case for me with the ley line staff, even though it was rng I got it and called it a day, and it's honestly my favorite staff in the game.

For the mounts though, ever since I returned to my OG skins it has felt much better switching between the mounts. I feel like I did when I was first earning the mounts themselves, and it has made me MUCH happier when I play the game. I of course am still using them on my alts, but i dont play my alts nearly as much sooo, you see where im going with that lol.

Yeah its cool we can see region specific skins SOMETIMES in their respective regions, which really only started with the dajkah lantern skimmers iirc, but its not like you can catch those skins in those regions, so again, nice to see, but no feeling of having earned it at all.

The guild warclaw on the other hand i am VERY excited to show off when i get it, and WvW isnt even my main time sink when im playing. The point of all of the personal stuff with the mount skins is to highlight the idea that the in-game reward structure avoids ALL of that negativity that I brought upon myself, so I believe we as players should be pushing to continue this guild skin trend that Anet themselves started. I will be using warclaw more often in open world just to show off that guild skin and my emblem of course :)

Masters Of The Arena Final Qualifier This Weekend!

    Posted: 29 May 2020 09:47 AM PDT

    Hey Everyone!

    Teaser Trailer

    Matcherino Page

    Rules page and main site

The Final Qualifier for The Masters of the Arena starts tomorrow! This will be the first and only inhouse Qualifier that we will be running, and should have some extremely exciting matches, as the final push to qualify for the Main Event occurs!

For those unaware of what the Masters of the Arena (MoTA) is, I've included links to our teaser, Matcherino page, and main site at the top of this post. The MoTA is a PvP Event taking place on June 5th, 6th, and 7th. The past several months have been a qualifying period, using the Monthly Automated Tournaments as a platform to get Qualifying Points for the MoTA. However for this final, 3rd Qualifier, we will be doing it inhouse.

    Dates and times:

The EU Qualifier is tomorrow, Saturday, and will begin at roughly 6pm CEST, or 12pm EST. The NA Qualifier is the next day, Sunday, and begins about 2 hours later, 8pm CEST or 2pm EST.

    Format

The format for each Qualifier is the same, a Double Elimination bracket, with Upper Bracket matches being Bo3, and Lower Bracket matches being Bo1. For both events, we will start out with two separate streams to provide more coverage and move the games along faster. We will combine the streams at the semi-finals of the Upper Bracket and continue on with one stream from there. We will also have a 3rd stream going for the lower bracket, until the main stream catches up with it.

    Mightyteapot - main stream

    Roy- second stream

    Angeels - lower bracket stream

Teams Now, for the main event happening next week, only 6 teams per region may qualify. Currently there are a couple of teams locked in to qualify, no matter the results of this weekends games. These teams are:

    EU

    The French Worms

    Rank 55 Dragons

    Forceful Faceroll

    Cheese Mode

However there are several very strong teams still attempting to qualify for the last two spots. In particular, Ultra Numb, a team that just formed for the last mAT, and got 2nd place overall, just barely losing out to Rank 55, is looking extremely competent. However they will need to perform exceptionally well in this qualifier to be able to Qualify for the main event, as they are going into it with 0 QP for the MoTA. They will have some strong competition in several other teams, namely in the form of Bowscoped, a team that many may recognize from participating in several Community PvP Tournaments post-Pro League, Quarantined Crusaders, a team made up of several long time strong Ranked/AT players, Made in Boon, a similar story of mostly German players, and Flash Team, aptly named for their Leader Flash, a very well known EU Support/Thief player. There should be many close matches on EU, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone compete!

    EU Bracket for this weekend

The teams that are locked in on NA are:

Team USA (Currently the most QP of any team on both regions)

    Exalted Quality

    Dark USA

    Skillcapped

Now NA may not be as competitive at the top end as EU, but there are still two very contested spots for NA, and the competition between the middle to lower level teams is much closer. There are a couple of pretty strong teams that have formed up just for this Qualifier that should be good to see play, specifically the appropriately named Dark Horse team, which has several very competent and well known ranked/AT players on it. The race for the last two spots on NA is not yet decided, and we can't wait to see who will grab them!

    NA Bracket for this weekend

As always, if anyone has any questions feel free to pm, or write in the comments below. We look forward to seeing everyone in the streams cheering their favorite team on, and good luck to all the teams and players this weekend!

It sucks that you don't get the chests on the last tick in Drizzlewood Coast

    Posted: 29 May 2020 01:29 PM PDT

First of all, episode is pretty good, i've been enjoying it a lot. One of my biggest complaints has to be that after spending a good chunk of your time on the map, upping your participation, seeing the chests roll in, when your participation is at the highest, you don't get anything for it and it just gets thrown out. This also stings more because the meta end chest also gives you barely anything.

    Sun shines through everything?

    Posted: 30 May 2020 03:22 AM PDT

Hello dear Guild Wars 2 players of Reddit,

i'm fairly new to reddit and hope i'm not opening a exisiting thread or one with an issue that already has been fixed.

But i've got this (lens flare?) light that shines through literally everything and anything, sometimes making it hard for me to actually see where i am going if i look in that direction and otherwise it's just really annoying.

I've asked my friends in Gw2 and even the map chat several times if anyone else knows what im talking about but i've literally got no response at all whenever i try to talk with someone about that.

So far i've tried to change literally every graphic setting one by one hoping i'll see a difference and looked online for anything related to my topic but couldn't find anything.

That's why i'm here. Has anyone else witnessed this kind of light too? Is there a solution? Or should I just stick with it?

It's on both Draconis Mons and the new map that came with the new part of the Living World: Icebrood Saga.

Drizzlewood Coast: Charr Salvage item description say you can consume them for Supplies, or trade them. But trade them where?

    Posted: 30 May 2020 07:56 AM PDT

Other Living World maps with their own currency like this tend to let you consume them for karma or trade them at a vendor. But this new currency lets us consume for war supplies, but I dont see where to trade them as is. Was wondering if that was a typo or something. I been holding on to them intact until I can confirm the typo or not.
