    Drizzlewood Coast - General Information/Tips

    Posted: 28 May 2020 11:45 PM PDT

    Hello all,

    As people begin to discover the glories and riches of the new Drizzlewood Coast map released recently, I have compiled some information for everybody's convenience. Please let me know if there are any errors and I will update as necessary. If you have any questions, feel free to mail or whisper me in game (Lama.2735). Be aware there might be some spoilers but nothing of major importance is revealed here. Hope you guys are enjoying the new map as much as I am!

    "Battle Cry" Meta

    • Goal - Get to Wolf's Crossing Bridge and kill >!Vishen Steelshot, Ranoah's Modified TT6-B Devourer, and Nicabar's Copter!<
      • To achieve this, players must clear + capture all camps and push northward in a two lane fashion meta. Capture Leadfoot Villeage and Lighthouse Point and increase morale to trigger final escort. >!Afterwards, Vishen and the Devourer tank will spawn and fight together followed by Nicabar's Copter.!<
    • Each camp is captured in a very similar way
      • Escort supplies to the Dominion camp (red) --> Kill enemies + structures --> Kill champion mob --> Defend + Capture to flip to Legion camp (blue)
        • Use 10 War Supplies to gain special action Electromagical Pulse (EMP) from the new United Legions Waystation Synchronization Mastery line to destroy buildings very quickly.
      • Increase morale at each camp to push forward by killing Dominion mobs, doing any events in the area, clicking speakers and shrubs, feeding the hungry, quenching the thirsty, mending the hurt and fixing buildings with War Supplies.
    • Leadfoot Village
      • >!Vishen!< - Creates mimics of herself and will teleport every 25% to a random location. The real boss will always have a blue cc bar. In order to damage her, the cc bar must be broken via normal means or by using the EMP.
        • If damage is slow, she will teleport back to the ground somewhere and will teleport away again at 75%, 50%, or 25% as usual.
    • Lighthouse Point
      • >!Ranoah's Modified TT6-B Devourer!< - Will drop bombs periodically and players should pick it up to break his cc bar quickly. You can run and throw bombs as well. If bombs are ignored, they will explode and cause minor inconvenience.
    • Wolf's Crossing
      • Both bosses will work together now and needs to be brought down together about the same time. >!Kill Vishen first and then the tank. If the tank is killed before Vishen, it will keep coming back @ 10% health.!<
        • >!Vishen!< - She will teleport to one of the three specific spots to snipe people up on the cliffs near the bridge. Take the permanent mesmer portal to find the real one and break her cc bar to damage her.
        • >!Devourer Tank!< - It will run around near the bridge. Avoid fire pools of death.
        • >!Nicabar's Copter!< - Must be taken down with the "Charzooka" equipped weapon found near the bridge after >!Vishen and the Devourer tank!< has been defeated.

    Participation

    • As you do the meta on this map, you will receive rewards every 10 minutes based on which blue zone(s) are captured and your participation percentage. Hover your mouse over the chest icon at the edge of your mini-map to show progress. Higher participation percentage will reward higher quality chests from each of the camps. Events around the map will award 10% participation if you get the gold tier reward.
      • 0 - 39% - No Chests
      • 40% - 150% - Rare Chests
      • 150% - 200% - Exotic Chests

    Travelling

    • Click on the blue circles in captured blue camps on the map to get around easily using 5 war supplies. Griffon is a great mount to use here to get to any location on the map quickly.

    Champ Train (after "Battle Cry" Meta)

    • After the main meta-bosses have been killed, 10 champs will spawn at 10 fixed location on the map 1 at a time in a random order. Fastest way to get to these champs is to teleport back to camp (via blue circle on map) and then glide/griffon/skyscale over. There is a 15 minute window before the champs disappear and the map resets back to the beginning. (Cue the siren)

    Rewards/Materials

    • "Glory to the __________ Legion" achievements rewards a variety of loots. Each legion awards different rewards as you collect commendations on the map. This achievement is repeatable!
      • Ash Legion --> Venom (T1 - T6) + Leathers (T1 - T5) + Glacial materials (T1 - T4)
      • Blood Legion --> Bloods (T1 - T6) + Logs (T1 - T5) + Charged materials (T1 - T4)
      • Flame Legion --> Dusts (T1 - T6) + Cloths (T1 - T5) + Molten materials (T1 - T4)
      • Iron Legion --> Claws (T1 - T6) + Ores (T1 - T5) + Onyx materials (T1 - T4)
    • Different camps on the map rewards different loots from the "Keep Lord's Chests" once you capture that camp. Also, the camps containers earned every 10 minutes will drop the respective loot as well.
      • Vloxen Mine --> Ores (T2 - T4)
      • Fort Defiance --> Fangs (T2 - T4)
      • Leadfoot Village --> Bones (T2 - T4)
      • Petraj Overlook --> Logs (T2 - T4)
      • Port Cascadia --> Scales (T2 - T4)
      • Lighthouse Point --> Totems (T2 - T4)
    • Champ Train (after "Battle Cry" Meta)
      • Cloth, Ingots, Leather, Logs (T3s - T4s)
      • Jewels (T5 + T6)

    War Supplies (WS)

    • War supplies are mainly used to purchase daily keys and to traverse the map easily. You will have a lot of this currency from mining "Salvaged Parts", consuming "Charr Salvages" or doing events around the map. You can also use WS to fix burning buildings or upgrade them to speed up morale gain from each camp.
      • Salvaged Parts are not worth the time imo to mine. Do events and push the meta forward instead to get other more valuable materials.

    Cache Keys

    • Cache Keys can be purchased from the Quastor NPC in any blue zones or earned every 10 minutes from camp containers. You will need 40 for the champ train at the end of the meta.
    • The Quastor NPC Vendor will sell the first 5 keys for 25 War Supplies, then 5 more keys for 50 War Supplies each, then 5 more keys for 100 War Supplies each, then finally you can purchase as many as you want for 250 War Supplies each
    • Buy 15 Cache Keys daily to "min-max" or just earn via 10 minute camp containers

    Secret Missions Documents

    • Use them till you unlock all your secret missions. There are a total of 40 and the missions can be completed for extra commendations for the various legions. Afterwards, you can sell to vendor for 5s per document. Alternatively, you can save these for now to see if ANET does anything else with them. These documents used to grant 2000 karma per and was quite valuable to sell on the TP before the hotfix on 5/28.

    Charr Field Homing Beacons

    • Use these periodically to discover "Lost Charr Supply Drop" scattered across the map. The location is indicated by a red line pointing to a direction if there is a lost supply chest nearby. Once you are close enough, the location is on a white circle with a blue beam that is easily seen. All players can loot this chest.

    Meta Strategy

    • Option #1 - Two commanders
      • Commander #1 capture the camps in the order: Vloxen Mine → Fort Defiance → Leadfoot Village. Escort NPC eastward to Wolf's Crossing bridge from Leadfoot Village. Focus on killing >!Vishen!< using the map's permanent portals.
      • Commander #2 capture the camps in the order: Petraj Overlook → Port Cascadia → Lighthouse Point. Escort NPC westward to Wolf's Crossing bridge from Lighthouse Point. Focus on killing the >!Devourer tank!< and hold at 10% until >!Vishen!< is dead
    • Option #2 - One commander
      • Commander will bounce between each side to balance out the progression of camps on the map to maximize rewards.
      • Use Group 1 as people fill the squads so they can be placed in other groups as necessary. Put yourself in Group 4 so others can identify and join on you easily.
      • Progression
        • Group 2 - Mines → Fort Defiance → Leadfoot
        • Group 3 - Petraj → Port Cascadia → Lighthouse
      • Final Escort
        • Group 2 - Escort NPC eastward to Wolf's Crossing bridge from Leadfoot Village.
        • Group 3 - Escort NPC westward to Wolf's Crossing bridge from Lighthouse Point.
      • Wolf's Crossing
        • Group 2 - Focus on killing >!Vishen!< using the map's permanent portals.
        • Group 3 - Focus on killing the >!Devourer tank!< and hold at 10% until >!Vishen!< is dead

    Edit: Spelling, gender, clarity on champ train spawns, and added Charr Field Homing Beacons

    3 days ago I mentioned that my wife had been building the Juggernaut for two years, but was short on Silver Doubloons. u/Chaotic- came through with the Legendary save.

    Posted: 28 May 2020 06:59 PM PDT

    Original conversation

    My wife and I have been playing GW2 together for years. I started at launch and she started around the time of Living World Season 3 Ep. 5. The Juggernaut was the very first legendary she set out to make, but some of the material requirements were difficult for her to meet. Even with me sending her every silver doubloon drop I got, she still only had 18 accumulated by this week. u/Chaotic- is a real champion for sending her 232 silver doubloons, even though they have never met or even spoken before now. Chaotic saved her 256g in material costs and today she finally completed her very first Legendary weapon.

    Snark all you want, but it is moments like this that show just how amazing the Guild Wars 2 community is. Feli is really happy right now.

    (Side note: Last Friday was her 30th birthday so I'm gonna say this falls under the umbrella of "Awesome Surprise Birthday Gifts!")

    Album of Happy Norn Revenant pictures. Fashion Wars subject to change (and now she's seeing how it looks on her Charr Scrapper and squealing about how good it looks!)

    Is it just me or is Essence Manipulation just... completely disconnected from the rest of the game?

    Posted: 28 May 2020 07:58 PM PDT

    I had no idea what they were building to with this when they introduced it and quite honestly it has gotten even less clear as new episodes have come out. I thought it had something to do with Norn and their spirits and being imbued with magical energy, but now it seems like just a concept they're trying to graft onto every set of enemies. Blood Legion deserters have red essence because... their armor is red I guess? Iron Legion is blue because the gear on their sigil is blue? Is there really any logic to this other than doubling down on a dud mastery theme? And is every map going to feature three arbitrarily-stratified groups of enemies just to keep this going?

    And it's even more irrelevant mechanically than it is thematically. You don't seem to ever get enough stacks to use it in the overworld outside of Drakkar, and in Strikes you literally just get a free max stack from the pillars at the start, as if the devs themselves said, "Yeah, we literally can't ask people to do this shit we made." And you don't see color-coded chests in Drizzlewood, now do you? They keep adding 1.5-million XP goals to what is essentially an orphaned series of masteries.

    When you want to make a color-coded rock-paper-scissors system, you should look to Pokemon - if it's not immediately recognizable why an enemy has a particular type and color, and it doesn't have an effect on gameplay... what the heck is the point?

    [TacO] Experimental Multibox Support

    Posted: 29 May 2020 05:48 AM PDT

    Hi everyone, it's been a while since the last TacO update, I was busy with work... until I had none. So now I had some time to look into the GW2 client updates and added experimental support for multiboxing, which is just about the most requested addition to the overlay.

    You can read the full blog post and download the new build here

    And as usual, here are the tl;dr change notes:

    • TacO now uses the DirectComposition API to be displayed
    • TacO will now ignore keyboard input when the game's focus is on a textbox. (Trading Post isn't supported)
    • The controversial range circles feature will from now on be turned off for competitive game modes.
    • Added the -mumble command line option to specify which mumble link file the TacO instance should use
    • TacO now figures out which GW2 window to use based on the process id provided in the mumble link
    • TacO will now automatically exit if it can't find GW2 for a minute during startup. This is to avoid stuck instances with multiboxing.
    • Map timers for Bjora Marches have been updated

    Drizzlewood Coast - TacO Markers Coverage - War Supply Farm, Supply Drops, Achievements, Map Completion,...

    Posted: 28 May 2020 11:13 AM PDT

    As usual, I have here my updated TacO marker pack for the new episode:-) This time devs really challenged me:-P

    Download: http://tekkitsworkshop.net/index.php/gw2-taco/download

    Video Guides

    IMPORTANT: When you launch TacO for the first time with this pack, everything will be turned on and the screen will be cluttered with multiple trails. You have to manually toggle them off in the menu first and left only those you wanna see.

    Installation

    TacO & Markers Installation

    • Download the latest version of GW2 TacO
    • Extract TacO from the archive somewhere - I recommend Guild Wars 2 folder.
    • Download ALL-IN-ONE markers pack from my website.
    • Move downloaded tw_ALL_IN_ONE.taco file into the POIs folder inside GW2TacO folder (do not unpack it!). Override if asked.
    • You may have to allow using archives from other sources in the file properties or repack the archive (just rename .taco to .zip) it as your own if you don't have admin privileges in the Windows.
    • Launch the game in Windowed Full-Screen mode and TacO as an Admin (does not work on Mac).
    • You can toggle my markers in TacO menu -> Filter Displayed Tactical Markers -> Tekkit's Guides ->

    Check this for more in-depth TacO guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quKSP6hdqFo

    Guild Wars 2 will apparently be removed from the GeForce NOW catalog on May 31, it's a shame. My PC can handle the game, but it is very slow, GFN was my only way to play smoothly.

    After the release of the new patch, my CPU usage when to 100%.
    Causing performance issues and dropping my FPS at current places and times to 30 and below.
    Funny thing is even if i lower the setting nothing changes.
    Anyone else have such a problem?

    Legendary Armory should be QoL change to the existing templates, free and simple - you can use legendary on every character if its unlocked, not just on 1. It should NOT be another new paywalled system.

    Posted: 29 May 2020 03:51 AM PDT

    I see some people talking about how armory will be monetized. What? Why every change in this game is now expected to be paywalled? I think anet said they want to improve the "templates" and not create brand new system, with its own 500gem slots etc. Whats the point of making legendary item usable on other characters if I need to pay lots of gems to be able to do it? I would just craft cheap ascended and transmutate legendary skin on it rather..

    Bring Back the Post-Patch Developer Q&A

    Posted: 28 May 2020 02:33 PM PDT

    I can't say that I speak for everyone on the subreddit but I believe the majority of people enjoyed having an open dialogue with the developers following each big patch. With communication improving as of late at ArenaNet, I think now is the time to bring back the developer Q and As.

    To clarify further, the Q and A should be hosted on Reddit, not the official forums. The primary reasons for this being the increased exposure, question volume, and unrestricted dialogue that reddit allowed for with the original Q and As. The ones hosted on the official form were underwhelming and did not generate large community involvement.

    Additionally, I believe the Q and A should only be brought back if Anet is comfortable answering hard hitting questions that most of us can anticipate being asked.

    Those such as will there be more raids? How is the expansion coming along? Will we see a vision of the past episode between each main episode or only on occasion?

    These types of questions do not always need a straight answer but an acknowledgement or confirmation of progress is important. The Q and A would perhaps be more harmful if these types of questions were contuallt ignored for only the typical fluff (insert "who's your favorite quaggan?" question here).

    Feel free to leave your thoughts on whether you want or do not want to see the return of the post-patch developer Q and As.

    Why there are no skill lag / rubberbanding on Chinese WvW servers?

    Posted: 28 May 2020 02:46 PM PDT

    As we know there are a lot of problems with skill lag in WvW on EU/NA. There are skill lags even with 2 zergs fighting each other, when 3rd zerg appears it is unplayable ( it is enough that 3rd zerg just show up around and isnt fighting with 2 other servers to start lagging). People are blinking around like crazy(rubberbanding), takes 30sec to cast 1 skill. The problem got worse after Anet decided to move servers to AWS.

    There is a thread about this on official forum: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/104992/open-letter-to-arenanet-regarding-server-latency/p1

    Here are some examples of skill lags:

    1. https://www.twitch.tv/rediche/clip/ConcernedSlipperyQuailPJSalt?filter=clips&range=30d&sort=time
    2. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/621911500?t=17m42s
    3. https://youtu.be/usdu1seDvus?t=73

    I have heard from some people that there are no lags on china servers, so i decided to check it and made some research.

    douyu.com is Chinese twitch, i found this guy who is streaming his commanding, here are few biggest fights i could find on stream:

    1. 57:15, 59:40 (3 zergs near each other, people would already teleport all around, few seconds later they start fighting- 3 way fight - no skill lag) https://v.douyu.com/show/Yo4evyoX8x6M8L62
    2. 50:00 https://v.douyu.com/show/Yo4evyoX8x6M8L62
    3. 17:00 https://v.douyu.com/show/Qyz171mGQ0b7BJj9
    4. 14:00, 29:45, 35:20 : https://v.douyu.com/show/8KxjMdJa2BgvVLwb
    5. 4:15 and 30:00 : https://v.douyu.com/show/r90XWgXyKOQvgk25

    Conclusion: NO SKILLS LAGS or RUBBERBANDING on Chinese servers

    In most of these fights it would already be lagging or rubberbanding on EU servers.

    Possible explanations why it is happening on EU/NA:

    1. Anet is saving money on AWS instances.
    2. Instances are wrongly configurated.
    3. Chinese servers has much lower map cap then EU/NA which is around 70-80 per server on map

    EDIT:

    Added better video examples of chinese fights.

    Found video with 3 way sm fight with little skill lag:
