The Air Raid sirens when Drizzlewood Coast resets are absolutely haunting! Posted: 28 May 2020 06:27 AM PDT After finishing the Meta in Drizzlewood Coast we get a bit of time to explore and hunt Champions. But when the timer runs out, the Dominion starts artillery strikes on every position besides Umbral Grotto. That cascade of bombs is accompanied by sirens that are inspired by WW2 Air Raid sirens. That combination is absolutely eerie. [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 May 2020 05:34 AM PDT I can understand that the way they implemented the special mission documents originally had to be adjusted because as they are tradeable, you could basically buy karma with gold, which defeats its intended purpose of being the main account bound currency in the game. Yesterday before the patch, I was getting buy orders filled for an average of 15s, which adds up to price of 75g for 1 million karma, which I think we can all agree on is quite cheap, considering the amount of weeks it would take you to farm this kind of karma. A legit question would be now why have these documents implemented in the first place? Just have the 40 special missions available right away like regular achievements. But I think the original karma faucet of 2k per excess document is kinda required in this zone and its removal surely will lower the average karma gain per completed meta quite a bit. Why is this a problem? Because there is a significant karma sink in this episode, which is the Tengu Weapon collection. Each recipe costs 35k karma, so its 560k karma for the whole collection. And I can see this becoming a huge bottleneck now for newer players who dont have a lot of excess karma stored because it will take significantly longer to earn this amount of karma on the map without the extra faucet from the documents. OPINION: Drizzlewood Coast is a Smashing Success Posted: 27 May 2020 11:30 AM PDT Occasional bugs and VA delays aside, this zone is one of the best we've seen, especially when taking into account that it's not a finale zone like Dragon Stand or Dragonfall... I could be rushing to judgement, but I've adored the hours I've poured into it. -The conflict is engaging, and meta is a ton of fun both requiring smart teamwork while keeping barriers to initiate much lower than Dragon Stand or Dragonfall. Siege mechanics are useful as well though with the exception of the Ram the equipment could use some tinkering for more utility. -The rewards are excellent, obviously looking to uproot stale farming zones, while still maintaining balance. In Drizzlewood the loot is varied and mats are plentiful. Cheap late game mats are given a purpose with commendation progress boosts. The 10 minute rewards offering different mats and loot for each territory controlled make the grind more relaxing with lessened concern for speed running all while keeping cash flowing. Profitability is high overall finally looking to potentially slay RIBA after several years of monotony, not to mention a built in claw farm. -In terms of design the map is well structured and one of the most gorgeous we've seen. I was skeptical of bringing WvW to PvE but it actually works well here and the built in commendations system is engaging and gives player chill ways to make bank just by playing generally. The map was clearly designed to take some of the best aspects from the most profitable and or lauded existing meta maps. It strikes a great balance between Dragon Stand and Silverwastes while taking smart cues from Dragonfall's key system and bonus round. All and all, well done Arena Net. This is probably the best and most innovative mid season zone ever introduced. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 May 2020 12:01 PM PDT So the the 3 blue symbols in each lane, once conquered basically act as waypoint, except you get dropped of in the air instead on the ground and you pay 5 war supply instead of a couple of silver. Makes getting around the map a lot easier, especially during the champ loot phase after the meta is done. Gotta catch them all. Edit: Apparantly you can airdrop when the zones are red too. Gw2 seems to be leaving geforce now game streaming platform Posted: 27 May 2020 01:51 PM PDT While I can play it on my pc fine I also had fun playing the game on a much weaker laptop with same or better settings using the geforce now service .Now with the changes to the service where devs need to opt in first to be available on it. Seems like gw2 will be one of the games that wont be available anymore . Source of the info https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5026 [link] [comments]

If you love Drizzlewood Coast... Posted: 27 May 2020 05:08 PM PDT You'll also love WvW. It pretty much works the same. I love Drizzlewood Coast. It is like a mini tutorial to WvW that we always wanted. Use siege rams to enter zones/towers. Fight defenders and champions/Lords. Destroy their arrowcarts and catapults. Control the zones/towers. The main difference is you tend to die more in WvW if you're new and alone. Follow a commander until you feel comfortable. Don't feel bad dying though, it is part of the game mode. Just like Tom Cruise in Edge of Tommorow, each time you die, you come back stronger. Try WvW if you haven't. [link] [comments]

New faucets for The Visage and Heart of the Khan-Ur have been added Posted: 28 May 2020 07:33 AM PDT The 4 repeatable Glory for Legion Achis all reward you with X Legion Reward Box, which has several reward choices and one is a "Recovered" Charr Artifact. That are the containers that are also rewarded once per day, if you decide to loot the big chest in the vault in Grothmar Valley, the original source of these two super expensive items. It remains to be seen, if that will make any dent into their prices but I think its good to see additional faucets being added as the Saga moves on. [link] [comments]

Grunts instead of Voice Acting Posted: 27 May 2020 09:15 AM PDT I gotta admit, there is something endearing about the grunting placeholders for character voicelines. It reminds me of oldschool games. I certainly cannot wait for the actual voice to be added later, but I think this would make a wonderful April Fools event that replaces all voiceline's with race/gender specific grunts.
