    Starting over fresh!

    Posted: 19 Jan 2022 08:13 AM PST

As a previous post mentioned, I recently got back into the great nostalgia trip that is Guild Wars! Now ive cleared and removed all my old characters back when I was younger (they were a mess, and the names were god awful!) But kept all my money and good items/materials I had. Now I've never completed prof at all so im going for a Prof char that I want Ldoa on. I want to do either Ranger or Necro but not sure which to go for. Any info on both classes would be great. Also ive always wanted to do a beastmaster build but I dont think they were viable back in the day. Thanks community! Also any helpful guilds out there for a returning player like me?

    Newbie With Some Questions

    Posted: 18 Jan 2022 11:07 PM PST

I'm a GW2 player who has always been interested in giving the first game a go. With the new expansion on the horizon, I figured now is the perfect time to do a complete playthrough of the series. I'm currently on Prophesies in post-searing Ascalon and having a blast, but there are a few things I'd like advice on.

First, I'm playing as a Mesmer/Monk and running with a full party consisting of a fighter, a mage, and a healer. Is this a good comp for completing content given my class? (My build is offense-centric with heavy use of DoTs and "punish them for attacking" spells for the record).

While on the subject of full parties, I've noticed that my experience from kills has dropped significantly since acquiring henchmen. Is quest exp enough to reach max level fairly easily? Are there scenarios where I should refrain from using henchmen?

Finally, I know that we will eventually head to Kryta. And given what I know of Ascalon's fate, I imagine it's a one way trip. Are there any "must do" tasks before leaving Ascalon à la Gwen and the tapestry shred?

    MAT rules

I think that the wiki is complete. I'm pretty sure that you can have members of an alliance in your guild's team. So long as the guild has 4×7 day members, max 2 hench, and no guests.

    Hardmode with Henchmen? (Ironman)

    Posted: 18 Jan 2022 08:13 PM PST

    Hi reddit,

I'm a returning guild wars player. I played around 1k hours in 2006-2010 (it's not much I know). Some month ago, I began and finished the Ldoa title as a warrior. In my early playtime, I never got deeper into the game, just played at my own pace - my one and only title was the cantha mission completing title. :D Now I get deeper in the ironman playtime. So I bought a new fresh prophecies account.

Now I was doing all the missions there as a ranger (sadly died 2 times at mursaats). And here comes the question. What comes next? Is it completing cantha in normal mode or is it possible to do the hardmode content of prophecies with only the henchmens and prophecies skills?

I know I could do the skill hunting title but does it really make sense? Should I wait until getting the heroes in Nightfall and Eotn?

I'm really thankful for every suggestion. :)
