Fixes Coming to the Dye System

Please, ArenaNet, don't let Metal Legion be a one-time thing.

    Posted: 03 Oct 2021 05:09 PM PDT

Recently, I went to Grothmar Valley and did the Metal Legion event and the idea occurred to me that music is rarely part of the culture of the festivals and merriments of the game. I'd love to see more Metal Legion concerts or even musicians themed after each festival (like a Zephyrite vocalist, Sylvari folk music, asura EDM, actually good human bards, more norn moot songs...).

What are the best specs for WvW

    Posted: 04 Oct 2021 01:37 AM PDT

WvW has been draining a good amount of time from my days lately, i can literally play for hours and hours, it's one of the best pvp modes I've seen in an MMO. I'm currently running a condi renegade with which I'm having a lot of fun with, but I'm thinking about trying something different. What are the specs that are considered the most useful in WvW? I'm thinking of going Support-ish Herald, are they any useful?

Come back to start again after a long time, only to encounter this. I feel like I might've missed a Lollypop Chainsaw Crossover event? I'm not sure if I should be afraid.....

    Bots/hackers in Bjora Marches

    Posted: 03 Oct 2021 09:09 PM PDT

    https://youtu.be/McUxzdpBW_4

I first noticed these when I went to do Drakkar and I saw a bunch of accounts teleporting next to the Still Waters Speaking waypoint in Bjora Marches, then immediately teleporting away again.

One of the bots started running away, so I followed it all over the map to the first waypoint, where it interacted with the merchant and then resumed its teleporting. Might be a bit too fast, but you should be able to see the path it follows and the way it goes around corners. Definitely very bot-like movement.

My best guess is that these are "simple" gathering bots, that are just programmed to "reset" their location to the waypoint after every action. They also seem to have a function to use a cutscene item for invulnerability if available.

I've also seen some of these accounts before, gathering pristine toxic spore samples in Kessex Hills(doing this efficiently in a legit way is like 50-60g/h btw, you should try it).

There's not really a way to see how much gold these bots are making, especially considering they leave for other maps when they're done in Bjora. However much it is, it's safe to assume that they make more than legit players doing the same type of activity.

How are we gonna get to Cantha?

    Posted: 03 Oct 2021 12:42 PM PDT

We still don't know how are we gonna travel to Cantha

In my mind there are 2 possible Theory

1 : Take the pact aircrafts

This one is probably the better option. We can see in the trailer some aircrafts and possibly going to cantha. However i wonder how are we gonna deal with the See Dragon if he is even still alive.

2 : Take the Dredge tunnel

    This one is my favorite.
According to the wiki during dwarf civil war : " Several of the Dredge managed to escape from Sorrow's Furnace, and flee to Cantha. They can mainly be found in the Echovald Forest. The initial dialog for the quest Envoy of the Dredge proves that the Dredge fled from Tyria) to Cantha, and not the other way around, by digging a tunnel through the world. It is currently unknown where the entrances to the tunnel may be, or if it still even exists."

    Fractal idea: Dark Pact.

    Posted: 03 Oct 2021 03:47 PM PDT

I had a fractal idea today when I remembered the Infinity Ball from the asura personal story: a twisted version of Fort Trinity that exists in a version of Tyria in which the Pact is an evil conglomerate of dark copies of the races and groups of the Pact we know and love.

We would be playing as minions of the Zhaitan of that world, trying to protect the natural order of the world from the race to domination that these vile warriors are threading.

It would feature three boss fights:

    - Fate's Razor: An dark rendition of Destiny's Edge: A human and a charr wielding fiery swords that shoot fire projectiles and AoEs and share one lifebar, a norn with a giant wolf and a bow made of the disemboweled remains of the Spirits of the Wild, a sylvari wielding two daggers and constantly trying to backstab you and an asura elementalist casting huge explosions from which you'll have to take cover. They would take turns to expose themselves to fight you directly, while the others shoot you from a higher position, except the sylvari, who would be a constant annoyance with her backstab and disappearance. Once all the members except the sylvari die, she will kill herself.

    - Unholy Trinity: The evil version of the mentors that accompanied us in the three orders, wielding weapons powered with energy stolen from the Elder Dragons: Sieran would harness the power of the ocean itself with a dark staff; Forgal would hold the power of both Jormag and Primordus with his twin axes and Tybalt would hold the Crystalthrower, a horrifying weapon able to crystalize any foe and spew purple flames. This fight would be similar to that of the Voice and Claw of Jormag from Strike Missions, with all three moving around the arena and sometimes colliding in the center to launch powerful attacks. Once one dies, the remaining two would start doing more damage, move faster and merge more often. When one remains, the last member will constantly stay at the center and attack relentlessly.

    - Dark Marshal: A lone sylvari, wielding a dark version of Caladbolg. Running around the whole arena and summoning attacks from the three orders the same way Varinia Stormcaller does in Cold War. He can also summon a whole lot of necromantic minions, giving us trash mobs to gain a second win should we fall (but they create a cloud of poison upon death). He'd have all the Caladbolg attacks but cranked up a lot and would be able to channel (with a breakbar to interrupt him) a mighty spell that would reduce the group to smithereens with an onslaught of giant bone constructs smashing the whole arena several times.

What would make EoD a "successful" expansion? What would make it bad?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2021 08:53 AM PDT

I've been playing for a while and during my time, games like WoW have had multiple expansions and some are considered terrible. Gw2 is barely reaching it's third expansion and I'm wondering if this might be "the one" that doesn't work out. I don't know anything about WoW, so what in the expansion would make it comparable to a bad expansion in that game? What would make it good in comparison to the other expansions?

Why doesn't Spiritcrush turn you around?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2021 02:17 AM PDT

Why? It's SO annoying. Having half your projectiles blocked half the time while standing on uneven ground or with a tree in the way is super annoying too. Renegade can feel really frustrating sometimes, especially with the summons. What, you want to put Icerazor on a platform below you? Nah mate, gotta jump down, sorry.

    Dragonscale Cape dye issue

    Posted: 04 Oct 2021 08:47 AM PDT

    Dragonscale Cape dye issue

Hey guys, i just finished the collection to get the Dragonscale Cape and was so happy i could finally finish my Dragon Hunter themed transmog, but after trying out every possible dye i had it looks like there is no way to get rid of these red lines between the scales of the cape. I did a bit of research and it seems like the runic cape has the same issue.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this ?
