I've played a lot of MMOs and for a very long time. They all start to kind of blend together as you lose track of whether or not any given class is unique at all. I played GW2 for a few hours a couple years ago just to see what the hype as all about, but my wife didn't want to leave WoW, so it didn't stick. With the latest expansion for WoW, we realized that the game was simply not for us. Very unfriendly for new players, excessively toxic community, way too heavy of a focus on PvP, very unbalanced classes for PvE, the list goes on. We played eso for a few years a while back and it began to get too grindy, complicated, and we realized all the classes pretty much felt the exact same.

When I first started playing GW2 and learned all the core abilities are weapon based, I became skeptical, until I tried a second class and realized that, despite both chars using a greatsword, the abilities were entirely different and unique. I played to level 21 on 5 different characters before deciding on mesmer as my main and was blown away by how exceptionally different they each were from each other.

I love the transition from generic fetch/kill quests to an extremely exploration based progression mechanic. I love finding all the vista's and areas to explore. I love happening upon jump puzzles that are done delitefully well just at random in the wild. I like how un-structured the game is, yet I know exactly what I want to do next. It can be a very chill and laid back experience, or a crazy battlefield with bright flashes and explosions flying everywhere.

The community is unbelievably friendly and helpful, pardon me but, how the hell did arenanet manage that? In any other "gem" or premium currency store, the cosmetic outfits etc are 90% ridiculous looking and I would never spend real money on them. But in GW2, I'm surprised to see a ton of really great looking stuff.

I could go on and on for pages, but my wife is waiting for me to get back on the game with her. I am so looking forward to continuing to explore this fresh new world with excellent gaming mechanics and awesome exploration. Really a one of a kind game.

TL;DR I'm blown away by how unique and different this game is from any other MMO I've played, and not only that, but how much more enjoyable it is than others. Also, how did the community evolve into something friendly and non-toxic? (in comparison to other games of course)

We ran 57 hours of Dragonfall straight

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 04:20 AM PDT

So, some of you guys might've seen us in LFG over the past 3 days under various IGNs.

We originally started our run as a bet with one of our friends, whether or not he could manage to command DF for 24 hours straight.

After his successful runs the rest of our amazing team worked together to keep running by regularly swapping our commander so none of us would burn out. That way what was originally planned to be a 24 hour bet became a 57 hour group effort.

We started at 07:56 on the 17th and ended at 16:44 on the 19th, successfully running for almost 57 hours!

At this point I'd like to thank all of our amazing commanders and lieutenants who made this full run possible, we had a total of 9 different commanders and even more helpers, most of them ran with us for 30+ hours as either leader or helper.

I'd also like to give special thanks to all of you guys who ran with us, you're amazing (and yes we did have some names that stayed for the first 24 hours+ and were back in the squad after a few hours of sleep).

Thank you to everyone who made this run possible, we all had a lot of fun doing it and we hope everyone who joined us enjoyed it as well!

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 05:18 AM PDT

Every single content creators has community boxes to give away, 10x more than usual, the GW2's tweeter profile promotes Builds and story videos made by the community, add to that the constant little news like the ones for VA.

It seems to me that the EoD promoting campaign is about to start and Anet wants to build up momentum.

Please let us filter out empty LFG tabs, or even better, an option to show only tabs with X amount of total player in squad.

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 05:59 AM PDT

The current LFG tool is clustered with more than a dozen categories and SIXTY subtabs at the moment. If you're just logging in to have fun for the night, without a specific thing to do in mind, shifting through tabs in LFG to find a group is gonna be way more tedious than it should be. It's like going to a restaurant with 60 items on the menu, and only 6 of those are available.

I know the LFG desperately needs a complete overhaul, but in the meantime, can the dev please at least put in some bandages?

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 02:33 AM PDT

He was instrumental in tracking Kralkatorik, so why aren't we tracking him down? At least something, word that someone is looking for him in the meantime.

Edit: For a little clarification, he does state that he's powering down his higher functions, does this mean he is properly dead? As I always assumed (and my SO has always assumed) that this has left him in a state similar to what we found him in at the docks of Amnoon earlier in that season, trapped in nothingness untill we essentially turned him back on.

Road to Legendary: Going about collecting Mats for your Shinies

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 02:52 PM PDT

    Background

With the Legendary Armory launching last week I found myself going through the forums and wiki trying to came up with a cheat sheet for creative/alternative ways to craft Legendaries. For the most part, I just looked into Crafting Components common to all Legendaries and am performing one-off research on individual items. This post serves as a collection of my research but is by no means a complete nor comprehensive list.

    Mystic Clovers

Every Legendary Item is going to require getting Clovers. Traditionally, Clovers have been obtained by gambling at the Mystic Forge using either the 1 or 10 Clover output recipes. Most items will take 77 Clovers with the exception of individual Armor pieces (15), Runes (20), and Sigils (30).

    Vendors

    Vendor Clovers Cost Frequency
    BUY-4373 2 150 Relics + 1 Mystic Coin + 3 Globs + 2 Shards Daily
New Year Vendor 1 10 Essence of Luck (Exotic) Weekly (During Festival)

    • BUY-4373, although slow, is a more cost effective method of obtaining Clovers given that the average Forge Recipe calls for 3.2 Mystic Coins and 3.2 Globs.

    Loot Bags

    Item Name # of Clover's Acquistion/Cost
Chest of Legendary Crafting Material 7 Login Reward - Day 28
    Magic-Warped Bundle ~0.037 1,250 Unbound Magic + 40 Silver
    Magic-Warped Packet ~0 250 Unbound Magic + 50 Silver
Mist-Warped Bundle ? WvW Skirmish Reward Track: Silver, Platinum, Mithril

    • Alternate cost for Magic-Warped Bundles: 500 Unbound Magic + 1 Gold
    • There is no Drop Rate Research on Mist-Warped Bundles.
    • While Warped Loot bags are overall inefficient for obtaining Clovers by themselves, Magic-Warped Bundles become much more valuable when you also need to collect T5-T6 Mats (detailed further in this post).

    PvP/WvW Reward Tracks

Track Name # of Clovers Track Completion
    Drizzlewood Coast 14 Tier 7
Bjora Marches Coast 11 Tier 8
    Grothmar Valley 9 Tier 6
    Silverwastes 7 Tier 8
    Verdant Brink 7 Tier 8
    Auric Basin 7 Tier 8
    Tangled Depths 7 Tier 8
    Warclaw 7 Tier 8
    Crystal Desert 7/2* Tier 8
Shiver Emote Tome 6 Tier 5

    • Crystal Desert has both a Non-repeatable (7) and Repeatable Track (2).
    • Repeatable Tracks typically award a total of 2 Clovers at Tier 8.
    • You can get up to 6 WvW and 6 PvP Reward Track Potions per Dailies.
    • Each Reward Track Tier can be completed with 10 Reward Track Potions
    • Each Non-Repeatable Reward Track can be completed twice: once each in PvP and WvW

    Mystic Coins

Mystic Coins serve two purposes. You either need them for as part of the Forging component (typically 250), or you need them to create Mystic Clovers.

    Vendor

    Vendor Mystic Coins Cost Frequency
Super Adventure Box Weekly Trader 3 5 Bauble Baubles Weekly (During Festival)

    Loot Bags

Item Name # of Mystic Coins Acquistion
Bag of Mystic Coins (Fine) 2 Login Reward - Day 1
Bag of Mystic Coins (Masterwork) 4 Login Reward - Day 8
Bag of Mystic Coins (Rare) 6 Login Reward - Day 15/Weapon cache
Bag of Mystic Coins (Exotic) 8 Login Reward - Day 22
Black Lion Material Bag Up to 4 Black Lion Chest/Statuette

    • Weapon Cache refers to the Tier 4 Achievements from Living World Return Episodes.
    • There is no Drop Rate Research available for Black Lion Material Bags
    • Multiple versions of Black Lion Material Bag exist related to maps/zones. The latest one is exclusive to Black Lion Chest drops while the previous versions can be acquired with 5 Black Lion Statuettes.

    Daily Boss Loot

Boss Name # of Mystic Coins Drop Rate
    Fractal CM Bosses 1-3* Common
    Ley-Line Anomaly 1 Always

    • Each Fractal CM Boss, including minibosses, can award 1-3 Mystic Coins if you get Mystic Coins as a drop.

    Living World Return

Reward Tier # of Mystic Coins
    Tier 2 3
    Tier 4 6*

    • The above aquistions are per Living World Return Episode
    • Players can choose a Bag of Coins (rare) in lieu of a Weapon Skin for Tier 4
    • See Seasons of the Dragons achievement for more details on acquisition

    PvP/WvW

    Name Mystic Coins Awared Acquisition
Gold Skirmish Reward 2 595 WvW Pips
Diamond Skirmish Reward 4 1,450 WvW Pips
PvP Daily Automated Tournament 1-5 Placement reward
    PvP MonthlyTournament 1-100 Participation/Placement reward

    Intermediate Crafting Materials

Not to be confused with Basic Crafting materials (ore, wood, cloth, and leather), Intermediate Crafting Material is used in a variety of Legendary components and tend to be a bulk of your overall crafting cost

    Disclaimer

It would be impossible for me to list every source for every Material given that they can be acquired from various monsters drops, loot bags, map bonuses, and Mystic Forge recipies. Instead, I will be listing Material acquisition sources for T3-T6 by using several currencies that players may already have. Given the volatile nature of Material pricing always double check to make sure your currency is not better spent elsewhere

    • House of Daoud also drops Leaf Fossils and Barbed Thorns

    Provisioner Tokens

Provisioner Tokens are the required currency for Gift of Craftmanship which, in turn, is used for each individual piece of Legendary Armor (PvE), Rune, and Sigil.

    Disclaimer

I won't be going into the most cost efficient way to go about obtaining these tokens as the Wiki already does a thorough job of listing vendors, waypoints, and pricing. Instead, I will be grouping the various Daily methods of obtaining Provisioner Tokens

    Misc Material

    Vendor Location Item
    Black Citadel Obsidian Shard
    Lion's Arch Mystic Stone

    Time-Gated Materials

    Vendor Location Item
    Divinity's Reach Lump of Mithrillium
Hoelbrak Spool of Thick Elonian Cord
    Rata Sum Charged Quartz Crystal
The Grove Glob of Elder Spirit Residue

    • Trading Time-Gated materials for Tokens is not limited to once a day.

    Account Bound Trophies

    Vendor Location Item
    Verdant Brink Reclaimed Metal Plate
    Auric Basin Auric Ingot
    Tangled Depths Chak Egg

    • Remember, 5 of each of these Trophies are required for an individual piece of Legendary Armor (PvE).

    Crafting Rare Equipment

    Vendor Location # of Tabs
    Verdant Brink 5
    Auric Basin 3
    Tangled Depths 3

    • For each tab, vendors will want 1 of 6 specific Crafted Items in exchange for 1 Token.

    Charms and Symbols

Charms and Symbols are used exclusively for Runes and Sigils, respectively. I'm posting the following data for those of you who want to avoid buying the material outright from the TP. There are two options to obtain Charms and Symbols. The first option is to use a Salvage kit directly on a Rune/Sigil. The second option is to use a Salvage kit on equipment that has been slotted with a Rune/Sigil.

    Salvaging Runes

    Title Rarity Lucent Motes Charms
    Minor Masterwork 1.06 0.02
    Major Rare 1.69 0.03
    Superior Exotic 3.20 0.09

    Salvaging Sigils

    Title Rarity Lucent Motes Charms
    Minor Masterwork 0.98 0.02
    Major Rare 1.87 0.03
    Superior Exotic 3.16 0.10

    • Salvage Kit Quality does not affect drop rate
    • Rune/Sigil rarity does affect drop rate.

    Salvaging Upgrades from Equipment

Salvage Kit Copper Cost Mat Upgrade % Rune/Sigil Salvage %
    Crude 2.13 0 ~5
    Basic 3.52 10 20
    Copper-Fed 3.00 10 20
    Fine 11.52 15 40
    Journeyman 32.00 20 60
    Masters 61.44 25 80
    Mystic 10.49 25 80
    Silver-Fed 60 25 80
    Runecrafter's 30 20 100
    Black Lion N/A 50 Extract

    • The Copper Cost for Mystic Salvage Kits assumes you used Mystic Stones you already have and didn't buy the Mystic Stones from the Gem Store.
    • The Mat Upgrade % refers to the chance of upgrading the Basic Material Component (ore, wood, cloth, leather) to the next Tier.
    • The Rune/Sigil Salvage % refers to the chance that you salvage the Rune/Sigil instead of it being destroyed. If the Rune/Sigil succeeds at being salvaged it then rolls a drop rate based on its rarity (See above tables).
    • Black Lion Salvage Kits (BLSK) are the only Kits that will extract an upgrade and keep it intact. Thus, BLSK should be reserved for gear that have pricey Runes/Sigils that you want to extract.

    Efficient Equipment Salvaging - Suggestion

Item Rarity (lvl 68+) Recommended Kit
    Fine Copper-Fed
    Masterwork (Empty) Copper-Fed
    Masterwork (Upgrade) Runecrafter's
    Rare Silver-Fed (See Notes)
    Exotic Silver-Fed (See Notes)

    • Unidentified Gear should always be identified as you can even get up to Exotic gear from identifying Unidentified Gear (Fine)
    • Silver-Fed and Runecrafter's can be used in place of one another if you only have one or the other.
    • Always double-check the pricing of your identified gear as it may be worth more on the TP than its salvaged components. This is especially important for Rares and Exotics
    • When Salvaging Rares and Exotics also consider the price of an Ecto as you have an 80%, 87.5%, and 125% chance of obtaining an Ecto when using Runecrafter's, Silver-Fed, and BLSK, respectively.
    • With the exception of Fine and Masterwork (Empty) gear, Mystic Salvage Kits are almost always the best kit to use in any case provided you are not having to buy the Mystic Stones and are using the ones you already have.
    • Consult the following spreadsheet for a complete breakdown of Efficient Salvaging

    Final Thoughts

While there is much more to talk about in regards to crafting Legendaries, I felt this to be a good stopping point as the next step would be talking about specific Legendary items themselves, and those already have guides. Nonetheless, if you feel like I missed something or find an error in my posted data (I did a lot of copy/pasting) feel free to shoot me a message here or in-game at Savacli.8172.

    Kudzu, crafted in 2012 (HELP)

    Hey folks,

i'm kinda dissappointed atm from the GW2 Support.

I was a day one player back in August 2012. Probably one of the first player who crafted a legendary Bow named "Kudzu". I was really proud of it.

It was crafted around december 2012. I got the skin unlocked and have only one "Gift of Exploration" left (yea you can get more with other characters, but only one got 100% world completion).

I stopped playing GW2 for a long time and many things changed. So my legendary bow became a "Berserker's Pearl Stinger", when i came back in 2020. I think you had to change the bow for a another one, when updates happened. (Because Ascended weapons, wasn't even a thing in 2012)

As far as i know in April 2014 the wardrobe got introduced (i made some research). Someone told me this was the time where the change happened? I don't even know.

Of course i wrote a ticket and the Staff wanted me to get a date, when i crafted it. I told them around december 2012. Now they telling me they doesn't see anything in the logs.

I mean how should i have gotten the skin unlocked besides buying or crafting it?

Even if i bought it, there should be something in the logs.

And no, the collection for the precursor didn't exist too back then. So i don't have this collection done.

Does someone of you experienced the same Problem and could help me to convince the GW2 Support?

    Any help appreciated!

    Kudzu

    Best Regards!

Good reading. I don't count how much time I spent creating this from A to Z. This include the maps, a new gamemode and several additions. I hope this will warm up the heart of peoples. I have some others concept to shares like a dungeon path.

Like title says, my account got locked after using to many password logins because I forgot them and even after resetting it it's locked. I used to anonymous ticket but haven't had a response yet and I've contacted support in the past before using my account to submit a ticket (different issues) and always had a response within half an hour.

Do anonymous tickets get low priority or something? What else should I do? It states upon logging in I should contact support, which I can obviously only do anonymously.

I miss dungeons and so I created a fourth path for crucible of eternity some times ago.

On the map the red line with arrow is the path followed, latin alphabet symbols are locations of inquest investigaiton teams, circle with exclamation point is alpha abobination, green and red lines are forces field which can be controlled with red and green circles which are switches. Blue are lockdown force fields that can be removed. Red circles are emergencies spot lights. Yellow lines are inquest checkpoints.

    First Part

    Last Part

Map better quality. Rotten abandoned broken facility now. Zones frozen, burnt or flooded or conquered by plantsbecause of lack of energy.
