Qadim | Speedkill in 4:33 by Personal Best [pB]

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 08:21 AM PDT

    Hello Reddit,

We are Personal Best [pB], an NA raid guild, and we are happy to present a new Qadim speedkill.

    Log: https://dps.report/qJgn-20210711-222801_qadim

POVs: Italics represent PoVs of kills from different pulls than the fastest log.

    Daemu (DPS Daredevil): https://youtu.be/NksGn-i2lJo

    Lam (DPS Daredevil): https://youtu.be/uZxACAIcieM

    Wynter (DPS Daredevil): https://youtu.be/VSczfI3AjHw

    Contam (Lamp Daredevil): https://youtu.be/w2IcNzrq7Fg

    Prud (Lamp Daredevil): https://youtu.be/9H5loucJkw8

    Dirt (Celestial Renegade): https://youtu.be/jtNFwhkiR0g

    Meito (Soulbeast): https://youtu.be/0AEKMFEKUi8

    Ryan (Herald): https://youtu.be/3u_5PJfP30A

    Rece (Spellbreaker): https://youtu.be/yTlSJjbItRI

    Gus (Heal Chronomancer): No PoV

    Composition:

5x Power Daredevils: Power daredevils are exceptionally powerful on this fight due to being able to steal magnetic bombs for massive damage, and detonate plasma for boons. In particular, they are the optimal class for clearing the lamp maze quickly due to being able to cleave trash mobs very well while having extremely high mobility with their shortbow 5. They also provide extremely high boss damage.

1x Power Soulbeast: Provides frost spirit and one wolf pack buffs for the squad. Deals a good amount of boss damage, and is used to kite the boss during the apocalypse and wyvern phases.

1x Celestial Renegade: A condition celestial renegade is used as the main alacrity source and provides extremely high damage on the hydra, destroyer and wyvern champion mobs, and still does more boss damage than the more commonly used diviner renegade despite the boss having high resolution uptime. Very minimal boon duration is needed to maintain permanent alacrity due to the herald and chronomancer's help. Helps to maintain assassin's presence and upkeep extra conditions on the boss to increase the daredevils' damage.

1x Heal Chronomancer: Provides quickness to the entire squad for the duration of each champion add/ boss phase and helps with maintaining alacrity and other boons. Also provides a small amount of healing needed to help maintain scholar rune/writ uptime on everyone. Additionally, it is used to transport the squad to the protection pyre in Boss phase 1 and 2 to kill it, and to portal directly to the boss in phase 3.

1x Power Herald: Provides a decent amount of might, as well as permanent fury, regeneration, swiftness and protection, and a bit of superspeed. Does decent damage on the champion adds and the boss. Using glint heal, it is able to temporarily tank the boss so the daredevils and the soulbeast can have reliable flanking modifiers. Finally, it helps with maintaining assassin's presence, temporarily increasing allies' incoming boon duration via facet of nature (Glint), and assists with boosting scholar/writ uptime for the group using facet of nature (Shiro).

1x Power Spellbreaker: Prevents the boss from receiving boons for the first few seconds of each boss phase, which enables everyone to immediately burst the boss unhindered. Also used to temporarily tank the boss using its heal skill and endure pain so the daredevils and the soulbeast can have reliable flanking modifiers.

    Strategy:

To maximize damage, we let our daredevils greed as much damage as possible by primarily stealing magnetic bombs and not relying on detonate plasma for maintaining boons. We also didn't want to include a druid in our composition due to the fact that it does almost no damage. Although renegade and chronomancer were obvious choices for giving alacrity and quickness, one major implication of not having a druid was that we needed to find alternative ways to generate might. Thus, might was primarily generated by having everyone blast fire fields provided by the renegade's and herald's mace 2 before the start of each phase and was maintained by the chronomancer and herald for the duration of each phase.

For the lamp mazes, we sent two daredevils for the first two lamps, and four daredevils for the third lamp. The goal here was for the lamp team to finish the maze and send up a friendly champion mob at almost the same time as it takes for the rest of the group to reduce the enemy hydra and destroyer mobs' HP to 80% in the hydra and apocalypse phases, and to send up Zomorros as soon as possible to finish off the enemy wyverns in the wyvern phase.

During boss phases 1 and 2, our spellbreaker used its elite skill to prevent the boss from receiving protection and resolution for the first few seconds, which allowed all of our dps classes to quickly burst the boss unhindered. After the elite skill ran out, the chronomancer placed a portal to transport the group to the protection pyre to kill it to prevent the boss from receiving protection for the remainder of the phase. Boss phase 3 was extremely simple due to the lack of a protection pyre, so we just portaled and ran to the boss and whacked it until it died.

Overall, we had a lot of fun developing the foundation for this strategy during the most recent raid league competition, and optimized it a bit further afterwards, so we hope this will be interesting for all of you to watch!

As a side note, the way we arranged our subgroups made the squad shaped like an F, so that's kind of neat.

PSA For those not in the know - the Hero panel Achievements has a simple filter that you can use to select only those achievements that you may be working on. A shout out to anet for providing this.

Logged into a character I made in 2013 and haven't touched since. Because she had a shield equipped before the skills overhaul she can use Shield skills at level 3.

An old LA Lounge Pass would be the ultimate achievement reward and/or GEM Store item. Give it to us, anet. :-)

With the Legendary Armory coming, can someone explain the Mesmer builds slang?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 01:26 AM PDT

I have been casually doing raids to the point I have crafted the Light Legendary armor for my Scourge and I was waiting for the Armory to come so I can start learning Mesmer as well.

I am a bit overwhelmed by the amount of builds people play and I haven't really found anything actually informational in either this sub's search bar or Snowcrows.

    What is:

    • STM Chrono
    • 5-Man quickness Chrono
    • 10-Man quickness Chrono
    • Off-chrono
    • Minstrel Chrono
    • Tank Chrono

I want to start playing Chrono since I'm only doing Pylons, BS, QFB, DPS for now and want to start being even more useful for my raid group.

Would anyone be able to provide a simple explanation of what each build generally does, when to use it and what skill/trait/stat enables it to do that role?

Guild Wars 2 Weekly Events Schedule: July 12 – July 18

Shout out to Mesmers and Commanders

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 11:51 AM PDT

I just wanted to send some love to all those who lead events and simplify jumping puzzles. This is mostly precipitated by the recent return en masse to the Chalice of Tears jp. Those who run that jp deserve more recognition and tips than you get. You also exemplify everything I love about this community. So, thank you!

    So what about Plaugedoctor Scourge?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 03:57 AM PDT

I was running full viper scourge in open world and got tired of it. Now I would like to create middle ground build between dealing with stuff in solo pve and being supportive in meta events. I heard about Plague doctor fitting kind of well in this scenario but I need to hear you experienced scourge players if is plague doctor worth it? And if so which exact build and runes should I run.

    Thanks in advance!
