    My dad played GW2 and passed away recently. Can someone please let his friends know?

    Hi, so, awkward question. My dad played Guild Wars and I think he also played GW2. He died 2 weeks ago, COVID-19.

    I don't know if he had friends in the game, but if he did I'd like them to know he passed away. I'm able to log in to his web account, so I know his display name. Is a display name enough information for someone who plays to be able to contact his friends? (I don't want to log in to the game with his login info, because that feels wicked creepy.)

    (I'd also love to hear stories about him, if you knew him online. He's a great guy and I miss him a lot. I keep wanting to tell him about my day and then... just... I know he won't answer his phone.
    I jump started my car for the first time today and he'd be so proud.)

    (I'm using my "look at cute critters & play QUIJA" reddit account instead of my main account, because I don't want my main account tied to my IRL identity.)

    Extremely frustrated with Guild Wars 2 support as they refuse to do anything for our guild as years of work is lost

    Me and a few friends (10 in total) had two small guilds for a few years now. We were all Leaders and could do whatever, tight group of friends, all trustworthy and no, there was 0 drama.

    Unfortunately, one of our guild members was hacked and compromised recently. We don't exactly know how. The thief has logged in, changed mails (via support clearly which they fell for), kicked us from both guilds and became the solo leader with 2 guilds and beefy guild banks (3-4k gold, might not be much for you but it is for us). Our friend instantly appealed, he had all the information, serial key he bought from ArenaNet, account information while the thief ran rampant (and also deleted API key so we could not see what is happening).

    Today, instead of helping him since he is clearly the victim although you could argue that it was his fault for being hacked, his account was straight up terminated. No appeals possible. They say that the account can no longer be secured. it wasn't cheating or anything like that clearly. That alone is absolutely insane as Customer Support simply did not bat an eye and helped the account to be stolen and now punish our friend by deleting his 7+ year old account with hundreds spent.

    We tried to at the very least get the guild bank back and made a ticket explaining the situation in detail, another GM Zippy has given us a copy pasted text which makes it extremely clear that he has not read anything and just copy pasted the usual "We do not get involved in guild politics" and " You would need to contact the current leader for assistance in rejoining.", clearly ignoring that the current guild leader does not exist, was terminated and it's two empty guilds sitting there. We tried to appeal, more copypaste from Zippy and the absolute audacity to end the ticket with " I hope this helps! We're always here to help our valued players, such as yourself, with whatever issues you may face."

    No, it does not fucking help. You completely screwed us over big time for absolutely no reason and refuse to help on a very basic level. We can all vouch for what happened, there are 100% logs on what happened, suddenly a different IP logs onto an account, changes mail, passwords, kicks all guild members and gets terminated and support is like "well, duh, dunno, this is guild politics xD not my problem!". It's very clearly a security breach and ANY common sense would tell you that.

    Obviously, I highly doubt that the support that apparently values us will do anything by me posting on reddit, maybe I just want to rant since we lost a friend and support lacks the basic decency to try and help in a very black and white case. We are all on the edge of leaving and are considering leaving GW2 for good after this. We were all just preparing for EoD and stocking up in our guild banks but now, I am fairly sure that none of us will give ANet another penny.

    Tune in to MightyTeapot's stream on Saturday 13th of February at 17:00 GMT/18:00 CET to witness the greatness of the upcoming Hardstuck Lunar New Year Fashion Contest!

    TL;DR | Four categories – Party Eleganza Extravaganza, Canthan Echoes, Double Trouble and Cosplay –, two winners for each and one additional winner outside of any category, as part of the People's Choice.

    Viewers get to vote for their favourite look in each category, plus one contestant that will catch their attention! There will be a total of nine winners across all categories, for both EU and NA. Massive prizes are on the table, not to mention eternal recognition within the Hall of the Stylish! Read below for more details.

    Not long has passed since our last fashion war and here we are, ready to wage a new one! It is common knowledge you simply cannot slay in Guild Wars 2 if your outfit is not on point. So if you really want that damage increase bonus and you want to be on pace with the meta, you better dress up! Time to tickle your creativity and come celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year here with us at Hardstuck [Hs], by bringing your best shot in our fashion contest! Here is how the event will unfold:

    There will be four categories, each with a different theme:

    • Party Eleganza Extravaganza: get all decked out to greet the New Year with your best party look. Feathers, sequins, neon colours, you name it! You want to be having fun and you want your outfit to show that!
    • Canthan Echoes: as the release of End of Dragons approaches, it is the perfect occasion to pay tribute to the faraway land of Cantha, with its elaborate patterns and bright colour palettes. Bring a look that you think best embodies the quintessence of Canthan culture!
    • Double Trouble: Prepare for trouble and make it double! If you've gotten away with playing the game solo so far, well, no more. You will not be able to cheese this one as a lone-wolf, so you better summon a friend, or enslave a loved one and get yourself a partner to hit the runway with!
    • Cosplay: one of the most loved categories returns for this edition as well. Yes, WEEBS ARE IN. We repeat: WEEBS ARE IN!

    The rules are as follows:

    • Only one entry allowed: choose a category you want to represent and state it when your turn comes up. This will help the showrunners list all the entries under their correct category and ensure votes will be assigned following fair criteria.

    • No outfits allowed: no point in cheesing it, plus we don't like slackers! Tonic, miniatures and mounts are allowed to spice up the role-play - have a think about creative ways you can enter the judging area as well as any roleplay speeches or skills you want to use.

    • Alt-accounts and multiboxing are not allowed for the Double Trouble category: find real people to join you!

    Go crazy and don't be afraid to think outside of the box! You want to dress to impress! The event will take place on Saturday 13th of February, 17:00 GMT/18:00 CET. First in line will be EU, then we will move on to our NA friends. The duration of the event might change depending on the number of participants, although we are expecting about two-to-three hours for each server.

    To participate, tune in to the stream on Twitch, or simply show up and get in line, notifications will also be posted on our Discord server. You will also find us advertising a squad in the LFG panel. Don't be late though: the queue will be locked after a certain point and you might not be able to secure yourself a spot to impress us with your dashing look!

    Voting will be held directly after the conclusion of each individual part of the event. Viewers will be able to pick one favourite look for each of the categories and, as a bonus, they will all get an additional vote to reward a fifth look, regardless of category.

    Therefore, there will be a total of 9 winners on both EU and NA, for a grand total of 18!
    Thanks to our glorious fashion-conscious community, we have a bountiful prize pool, which will be divided among each category as follows:

    Award Prize
    FIRST: 150 gold + 165 Mystic Coins + 43 Divine Lucky Envelopes + 90 Stabilizing Matrices + 165 Globs of Ectoplasm.
    SECOND: 75 gold + 85 Mystic Coins + 22 Divine Lucky Envelopes + 45 Stabilizing Matrices + 85 Globs of Ectoplasm.
    PEOPLE'S CHOICE: 100 gold + 1 Ghostly Infusion.

    Why is the Silverwastes so weird?

    I noticed that when you mine a rich node and find a second one, you can only mine 2 or so ores from the second one. This is the only map in which this happens with multiple rich nodes.

    How to choose color of my armor/items? I just started playing and created Necromancer character with black/blue armor, but when i get some1 new item and equip it, it turns full black without any blue elements, is there way to change it?

    Cosplay Call for Rytlock & Logan

    There are two future videos I wanted to make, for awhile, but I couldn't find any Rytlock and Logan cosplayers. Both videos are humorous in nature and Rated PG, imo, that is. If you're interested let me know. This is the first time I did a post like this, so if it's in the wrong area let me know and I'll move it around somehow. I'll update this post with [CLOSED] or something, if two people are found.

    Does anyone bother getting ascended underwater weapons/breathers?

    I just got my first set of ascended weapons and armor and I'm wondering whether I should bother also getting an ascended harpoon gun and breather or not. Have any of you guys done it or do you just leave it at your main gear?
