Posted: 28 Feb 2021 02:53 AM PST Hey all, old school Guild wars player here, and recently committed to playing Guild Wars 2 long term. Know that this is a longshot, but in the hopes that it may not be, looking for an old friend of mine, there name was Eco of the Wild in GW1 and I was looking to get back in touch, maybe play some guild wars 2 together. If anyone knows of the individual let them know Emo Monk is looking for them (not the most creative name) and to add zealatch.3018 :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Feb 2021 04:07 PM PST Hey there everyone, I just wanted to make a quick appreciation post. To begin, I've played many, many hours in a couple different MMORPG's and MMOFPS's, such as WoW, ESO, FFXIV, Destiny 2 among a few more. I have never given GW2 the time of day for some reason, but currently I am on isolation for 2 weeks, and decided to give GW2 a whirl. I am a huge PvP fan, and I enjoy good feeling combat just as much as the next guy, and OH MAN does GW2 do it right. PvE feels great, PvP system is awesome as a new onlooker, and to top it all off you guys have such an amazing community. Last night I was doing a dungeon, and being the achievement hunter I am wanted to do all 3 paths on exploration mode. Well I joined into a group of AMAZING people, I went down A LOT, I immediately assume these people are burning at the core wanting to give me the boot because I can't keep up, and they need to keep coming back for me, but NO, they tell me they've all been there before, offer to run me through every path, AND tell me to add them as friends so that if I ever need help or have any questions I'm more than welcome to contact them. Now don't get me wrong, I've had wholesome experiences like this in other games, but never on my first dungeon, and never to this extent. All in all, you guys have a wonderful game, and a wonderful community that I am happy to be a new member of. Glad I finally gave GW2 a go after putting it on the bottom rung for so long. I have finally found my new main game. [link] [comments]
[GG] 5 Man Samarog Record • 7:19 Kill/ 3:41 Left on timer Posted: 27 Feb 2021 11:14 PM PST Hello people of Reddit, we are very proud to present to you a 5 man Samarog record kill beating the previous 5 man record by 29 seconds.Log: https://dps.report/qVQz-20210228-022457_sam This record only took 2 hours to grind out but the testing, math and motivation to actually try it took over a year. Our CC damage and distribution is the most min-maxed part of this kill and it goes to show that CC should never be an issue in your Pug or Weekly runs! So without further ado, here are strategies that led to this kill and the POVs: POVs: Composition: CC Distribution (Math further below): Strategy: Alacgade - The Alacgade ran regular Alacgade traits with Harrier's and Pack Runes with a Paralysation Sigil on staff to improve the effectiveness of Basilisk Venom and Darkrazor's Daring. Harrier's gear helped us survive and upkeep Scholar uptime during splits as Soulcleave Summit does not proc on Guldhem and Rigom. Pack Runes helps with the Warrior's swiftness uptime and also with Might. Our Alacgade also spammed F2 to help with might gen burst at the start of every phase which allowed our BS to not need to run For Great Justice. Bannerslave - Our Bannerslave was running Phalanx Strength to upkeep might and EA to provide DPS to the team. Wild blow was used as an emergency CC or as an emergency knockback during splits. Everything else was quite standard with double maces and double axes. Daredevils - The King of DPS and CC on Samarog. The Daredevils were able to do a lot of DPS with the help of Mag Bombs and also a lot of CC with Mag Bombs, Basilisk Venom and Pitfall Trap. The biggest struggle was to not get stuck in Staff 2 animation lock and being in range of Firebrand Mantras. The Daredevils also had a Pistol/Pistol setup with Severance Sigil to do DPS at the start of Phase 3 while Samarog is animation locked in his cage, and also to precast in P1with Mag Bombs for extra ferocity! (Note: Spears were cleaved by our AoEs such as Mag Bombs, Darkrazor's Daring, and a conscious effort to Scepter 3 by Quickbrand) CC Distribution Math: \Para sigil required for Ren and BS CC set* Effective ~4s CC ex/ soft CC = 4551[link] [comments]
Finding a community for progressing through lower-tier fractals? Posted: 28 Feb 2021 02:19 AM PST A while back me and my friend started the game, played it for a fair bit, went about unlocking mounts and all that, but as we got to the fractal part of the "start of the endgame" content, we noticed barely anyone was doing lower tier fractals and if they did, most left immediately upon realizing they were with beginners. Is Glyph of Reaping ever actually "Worth it"? Posted: 28 Feb 2021 06:23 AM PST Got curious about gathering glyth costs, and Glyph of Reaping is up there with the high priced ones such as extra strike, leather, cloth, speed and magic, but this one seems a little dumb for value. It gathers all nodes within range, but the range is 900 units, which is less than many ranged weapons. In addition it doesn't work in home instances if you're not the owner. So beyond the use case of owning a full home, what really is the point in paying the 330g or so to gather all nodes within 900 range? Seems like an insane price for what seems to have such limited use cases. [link] [comments]

My silly wishes for expansions (not about Cantha). Give ranged pve some love. Posted: 28 Feb 2021 04:17 AM PST Its not about content, but outdated? mechanics. I wish that buffers supporters could offensive boon everyone / 5(limited) persons in whole encounter / boss arena, includes long range dps! Currently, everyone who are not staying in 240 radius range of leader, place of chrono wells (or one of many similar effects), directly in melee range, loses boons, and so dps, heal, survivability, and are NOT welcome into many encounters (sure, we have some that ranged shine, but its like this or that, no choice, options, possibilities). Imho, that also could includes boons from auras. For the sake of balance, imho no to direct heals or with reduces strength above current range, ranged should bring own stuff here (like they have a lot place to run around). For now, whats the reason to play bow/scepter dragonhunter (extra dmg from range 600+) or rifle deadeye (good angle to shoot from kneel stance), or just any who like ranged. Sorry but nope! FU ranged in organized pve!?!?!? wink. Written as both bow lover and support quickness firebrand with silly mantra range (only small cone in front of fb, not even circle around, so qfb have to move slightly behind to be sure everyone else is in front of me and currently not dodging aside, coz small range of these mantras). Im aware, that changes like that could affect pvp way too much, these wishes are currently limited to pve mostly. Also, Im not expecting this quite big mechanic change to be a minor patch (even better if that kind of changes breaks pvp leagues, wink), such things should be deployed only as mayor game changing expansions, like the one that is in front of us. Edit - its offensive boons mostly, def boons are about to be balanced, probably no, then heals is highly no for massive aoe range. thx for reading this. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Feb 2021 04:41 AM PST After watching many Raid/WvW/Fractals videos I've seen some variance in opinions what optimal Crit Chance should be with coordinated play. Meaning playing with the assumption you will have many boons on you to boost the base stat. Wanted to see what people who have been playing for much longer than myself think on shooting for %50 being enough because of the boons. Reason why I care about this obviously is the less points I need to put in Precision the more I can use them somewhere else. Going to go ahead and thank for the feedback. [link] [comments]
Advice for a 1vX soldier class build? Posted: 28 Feb 2021 02:20 AM PST Hey guys, I am looking for a new WvW roaming class to play.... I am in the mood to play a soldier class, but I am willing to change my mind depending on answers... I am also open to using elite specializations instead of core. What I am looking for is a class that has decent mobility and survivability as well as pumping out enough damage to kill most enemies on 1v1. As I prefer to play solo I am looking for a class that can hold its own against small skirmishes and at the same time able to disengage rather effectively. Anyone have any recommendations? Posted: 27 Feb 2021 12:28 PM PST Hey all, I'm trying to break into raiding, but had some questions about how progress is saved. I'm gonna use specific examples in questions, but they're about more general principles of raid reset. If I join a group doing W1 Sabatha and we beat her, when I next enter a raid instance will I be on Boss 1, or does my raid instance lock on Sabatha? If I join a group doing W1 Sabatha and we beat her, can I then join someone doing W1 Vale Guardian and help out? If so, will I get rewards for Vale Guardian? I know you can't get credit for killing the same boss more than once per reset, but is there a way to open the raid on a boss I've already beaten just for practice or fun? Thanks! <3 [link] [comments] |
