    Last night i've met a random guy in LA. He asked me what am i saving gold for, i said the only thing i want now is a commander tag, he bought it to me and said this. I felt like saying thank you is not enough, so im posting it here, so we can pay respect to Daniel, and his friend that is making people smile in honor of him. F

    Why is the implementation of lifesteal so "dirty" in this game?

    Lifesteal effects are very funky in this game. Here are some of the puzzling bits:
    * is both sustain (sometimes significant, sometimes not) and damage boost (sometimes significant, sometimes not)
    * the damage can, but not always, scale off power and weapon strength, and the siphon heal can, but not always, scale off healing power
    * the siphon heal in no way depends on the damage dealt, so long as the attack connects
    * both values are flat, incentivizing attack frequency (unless an ICD exists) instead of strength
    Why is it like this? Why couldn't it have been just % of damage as heal, with Healing Power increasing the percentage? My first idea is that flat damage and healing fits better with the high-frequency low-strength attacks of the condition-based Necromancer, which is the profession loaded up to the gills with lifesteal effects, but there is a far more elegant solution here as well, one that already exists: Parasitic Contagion. I think lifesteal could be easier to balance if it were simplified and standardized, made more consistent as a percentage of damage dealt as healing.

    So i have been reading through some posts about this same topic but im still finding it hard to choose between the two because they both suit a ranger and pet class etc

    i do love collecting everything that includes costumes, but i don't usually switch between them if have them, i usually stick to the one i like the best until another comes out or even mix and match , im not huge into lore and i don't roleplay

    only other mmorpgs i have really played for years is the secret world, FFXIV and Lost ark which are more choose the area you start in for the class you want which is different to guild wars 2 so not used to this way

    1. Sylvari i like the background, small petite characters, the run and animations and i also like cloth/light armour costumes and just seem different and i like that, i also like the starting town

    2. Norn, i like the snowy mountains starting area, not a fan of big bulky sort of characters? but i do like tattoos and the fit the ranger class just like sylvari does

    How did you guys manage to decide, what was the deciding factor?

    Daily Raid Wing should really be a thing

    It could help keep raids consistently active throughout the week. And in doing so help the lfg for everyone who pugs, have a tight schedule or mainly play raids.

    Who is it for?

    1. Newcomers. A more bite size approach to completing raids. Rather than full-clearing on Monday
    2. Veterans. One wing a day isn't too time consuming so it fits nicely into a daily routine

    How would it help?

    1. Players love dailies. It's a nice checklist and an incentive to play
    2. The daily system already helps other instanced content; Fractals and Strikes
    3. Keep players engaged consistently. 7 wings, one for each day of the week
    4. More rewards attracts more players

    How would it work?

    1. One daily for each boss
    2. Being able to open the bosses you haven't killed this day
    3. Same base rewards for killing the bosses; Special box if you haven't killed the boss that week or only some greens and blues if you already have
    4. Additional rewards from completing each boss's daily. Another reward for clearing the entire wing

    It could really help the scene both grow and keep it's devoted players.

    Finally after seven days of camping istan and doing research, I found a solution how to kill Caravan and get achievment.     The way to kill that is not easy but possible to do.

    You just need to find totally fresh instance of Istan. The best way to looking for this is relog your character before palawadan, new istance usually appear before this meta. If you found new instance, you will see working caravan, you can kill it without any stupid builds and you can attack trash moobs. It is working like normal caravan. The only things bugging this event are meta's ,its not working after palawadan and GH, isntance after meta's is bugged and will not work again.

    So remember:

    - you just have to relog to character select and back to the game all the time

    • you can start maybe 15-20 minutes before palawadan (or earlier if you see lfg for palawadan, thats the moment when people starting join to map and system is going to create second instance)
    • always check meta's progress bar, if it appears (check screenshot) - it means you are on fresh, unbugged, working map . You will not see this bar on bugged map, it will always instant rush next greathall 15 minutes after old greathall or it will spawn bugged caravan, imposible to kill. https://ibb.co/TLw5YjQ
    • Be fast, when you found fresh map few minutes before palawadan, you have to be rly fast. There is instant spawn of caravan at fresh map so instantly check every spawn, it actually can runs to the GH yet.
    • call up everyone in your party to join your instance
    • if you failed first one, next one should spawn 5 min after old one so if you have still around 10 minutes to palawadan, you can wait for next caravan.-every map with done palawadan and GH meta's are going to be bugged and will never ever works again.

    Today i found fresh map AFTER palawadan so we had much time to kill few caravans but that was rly lucky to found this instance.Easiest is to get new istance before palawadan event.

    Tell people to read this topic, you will find more buddys to join your party and help.

    The only things which can stop you :
    -Two working-bugged istances at the same moment ( small chance that you will rush third instance, too less people joins to this map)
    -New instance will be created too late before palawadan and you will not have time.

    How do you go about learning all the classes and spe for PvP ?

    tl.dr: question in the title

    I've recently been playing around with thief and rev and while I really enjoy their role and mechanics, I quickly felt that they are way less forgiving than my previous classes (Guardian/Necro).

    However I observed that knowing the moves available to my opponents can be really helpful.

    Thus, how do you go about learning every classes and their spe ? I'm already using HoTM bots but they are only core classes.

    Btw I definitely plan on dueling but I'd like to know the basics first.'

    Tech question: 1440p or 1080 monitor for best game performance and visuals?

    Hello, please excuse my computer ignorance. I bought my first gaming pc (used to have a laptop) and I need to get a monitor to go with it. For the best visuals and performance, would a 1440p monitor be better over a 1080p monitor for Guild Wars 2? Thank you, I find this a bit confusing!

    im coming from WoW and want to try something new. I really like the artwork and graphics of guild wars and i want to try it out as soon it is on steam.

    Sadly the release is postponed. Is it still worth to begin right now in the end of the expansion? Am I able to play the whole game when I buy it now?

    BL chest drops?

    So as far as I know this type of question hasn't been asked anywhere, or I'm just REALLY bad at searching up questions but basically: I have a handful of chests that still have the Halloween Gnashblade bag thingy. When the chest drop changes, will my chests still only give me the Halloween bag? Along with that, is this actually how the chests work because I'm uh, not too sure
