    Ultimate Edition

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 06:55 AM PDT

I am a new player and I would like to buy the Ultimate Edition for the dlcs and the copper fed salvag-o-matic and the extra character slot, but it's too expensive for me, is there a way to buy it cheaper but not get scammed? I want to spend a lot of time in this Game and it seems it's so more convenient with the Ultimate Edition.

Highest damage skill in the game?

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 12:32 AM PDT

As the title suggests I am curious about what skill be it weapon, utility, or elite slaps the hardest in the PvE format. I'm not picky about single hit or multiple as long as it belongs to one skill. As a side note let's just assume all personal buffs are on as well. I'm a sucker for big numbers and would love to hear what you guys think.

    Mad King's Labyrinth tips!

    Mad King's Labyrinth tips!

Ok folks we are 2 days from Mad King and as an 8 year veteran I wanted to give you some tips on how to get the best out of your experience in the labyrinth!

    1) Which classes are best for farming?
Flamethrower Scrapper and Base Guardian with staff. These two are a fantastic synergy of speed, damage, and most importantly, target tagging. If you don't have either of those, use something with AOE damage and boon uptime if possible.

Other builds that are also extremely viable-
    Staff Ele
    Quickfire Firebrand
    Staff Daredevil with Shortbow.

    2) How can I cheaply get the best boost to my magic find?

First and foremost, if you have them try and keep celebration/birthday (these do not stack and provide 100% MF), item (50% MF), and mf (50%) boosters up. If you have Black Lion Statuettes, visit the Black Lion Chest Merchant to get a Black Lion Booster (100% MF).

Secondly, food and utilities. If using the two aforementioned classes, you will have MASSIVE boon uptime.
For food then, there is only 1 choice. Chocolate Omnomberry Cream. It gives you +40% MF as long as you have an active boon.

IF you are not running classes with high boon uptime, then use Spicy Pumpkin Cookie as that provides a constant 30% MF uptime without the need of an active boon.

Next is utility. I would go with either Sharpening Skull, Crystallized Nougat, or Pumpkin Oil. All 3 grant +30% MF and either Feline blessing, Ghoul blessing, or Pumpkin blessing. Just pick which blessing you prefer.

If you have the laurels to spare (20), in each of the main cities and LA, the Laurel merchant has a magic enrichment for your amulet slot that grants 20% MF.

Don't forget to visit your guild hall and load up on Heroes or MF banners! That's 15% MF! Then stop by your local Mystic Forge attendant to grab Spirit banners for an additional 10%! Also, swing by the Bartender for an additional 10% boost!

Also, though kinda rare to come across these days, is the Communal Boost Bonfire. It provides a 50% MF boost but sadly it doesn't stack with your MF Booster so I will not include it in the final tally. Just know it is another source!

Lastly the often forgotten Firework. There are multiple choices just find the cheapest one that provides +10% MF.

If you are able to have ALL of these active, you will gain a 435% boost to your Magic Find!

Any ways, I hope this helps and happy Trick or Treat bag farming!

Also, feel free to comment with builds you enjoy running through the Labyrinth!

    Labyrinth Builds

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 08:49 AM PDT

On tuesday Halloween is back and with it the Labruns. As a Commander I often get asked what builds I would recommend so I decided to talk a bit more about them in this post.

First of all lets go over the Equiptment. The Lab contains two types of farming methods, for one you run in circles and kill everything you see, for the other you clear doors where many enemies spawn and you need AoE. There are many weak enemies and its enough to only hit them once to get possible loot. Therefore you do not want to deal too many damage as everyone wants the loot. I recommend to run full Magis gear or just take off all your trinkets if you run something else. Runes of Speed are nearly a must and highly recommended. If you really struggle with survivbility you could also run runes of Vampirism. As for Sigils I recommend again Speed and an additionally one per class. If you play Mirrage or Daredevil you might wanna run Stamina or Energy. For other classes Sigil of Fire gives you a little AoE every 5 seconds while a Signet of Frenzy lets you use your big Skills just a little bit faster. For Food of course you should use whatever gives you magic find. You an see here how to maximize your magic find: Magic Find

After the basics lets now move on to the builds themselves.

Flamethrower Scrapper:This is the Build I mostly play myself. It brings many boons with it, is super easy to play, can remove condis, tags many enemies and has enough AoE for the Doors in the Labyrinth.

Shortbow DaredevilThis might be the most used Build for Labyrinthfarming. It is super fast, shortbows can tag up to 3 enemies per shot. Some people take Lotus-Training over Unhinderet Combatant but I like the condiremove you get from the later if the Acrobatictraitline is not enough. In addition you could use a Staff for doorclearing if you prefer. AoE's are rather rare for Rogues but your tagging while running should make up for it.

Greatsword MirrageSimilar as the Rogues Shortbow, the Greatsword of a mirrage can target multiple enemies while dodging. For this Build you want as much endurance as you can get as your Mirrage Cloak is the most important part of this build. Again its quite effective to just tag everything and nearly beeing invulvernable while doing it.

After we had the most effective Builds in my opinion there are some additional ones which need you to work a bit harder:

TempestOn a Temepest you can tag multiple enemies with your air scepter autoattack. You will have to switch Targets a lot though so its not that ideal for multiple hours in a row. Staff and Lightning Hammer let you use many AoE's in addition to your air overload.

DruidSimilar as a Tempest you can tag many enemies with your staff or for shorter ranges use your axes which bounce as well. Traps give you some AoE and your Astral form gives you a lot of survivability.

FirebrandThis Build evlves arround spamming your F1 Tome and resetting it every time you kill something. You wont tag as many enemies while running as other clases as your range option (a staff) was hit hard back in the days. If fighting at doors I recommend using a hammer for hving up a Symbol at all times which also is bigger than normal.

RenegadeI heard that Renegades should be quite popular for farming as their Autoattacks also damage enemies arround the target, allthough I havent played it myself yet for labruns. This would be my approach for a labbuild, allthough I don't know hoe effective it is.

For the other three classes I am pretty sure there is also a way you can play them if you'd like, allthough I wouldnt recommend it. For Warrior I would just play a Berserker with a Longbow and Axes (or a Greatsword for movement) while I'd play a Reaper with wells for a Necro.

These builds should be considered as rough guidelines and can of course be changed or improved at any time. In the end it always depends on the preferences of a player what he likes and what not. With that I wish you happy farming and maybe I' ll see you soon in the Labyrint.

Edit:spelling, changed the Druidbuild to what was recommended in comments

PoF HP train on Mon Oct 12 NA servers

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 06:38 PM PDT

Hello Tyria citizens! How does Monday after my 3hr WvW raid sound to you guys for a PoF HP train? It would be around 2pm EST. I'm gonna get my necro to complete elite specialization. I'm in an NA server. We should have a mesmer, but if another could come that would be great too! Basic Mounts are needed, raptor, springer and skimmer to survive the desolation areas. Springer 3 will make your life easier too for this. Im assuming you have the starting waypoint of Crystal Oasis, Desert Highlands, Elon Riverlands, and Desolation unlocked. If not, it'll just make it slower, so here's your heads up to unlock them before Monday 🥰
