    8 years ago I was having trouble solo killing this krait witch in caledon forest. A sylvari ranger came and helped me. We kept playing together, became good friends and started a guild together. Fast forward 8 years we got married today and are expecting our first daughter in January. :)

    Back in August, we let you know that we're working on the gameplay performance issues that some of you are experiencing, and we want to give you an update on our progress.

    We've made a number of changes that have improved general performance, but as we mentioned in our previous update, there are a lot of factors that cause lag and our changes haven't had the impact we were hoping for.

    We know the persistent issues are frustrating and we want them improved as much as you do, so we're now looking into bigger changes with broader impact on the problem. These changes take longer to test and implement, and we appreciate your patience as we continue working on solutions.

    As we do this work, please keep using the in-game reporting system when you experience latency issues. The information in the reports is very helpful to us in our investigations!

    Good evening Reddit,

    As most players have realised by now, the new go-to approach is to run seven Power Chronomancers on the majority of the bosses due to their strong damage output, while providing permanent Quickness. It took us a while to find something that we enjoy while still using a fairly interesting composition: https://dps.report/GFlz-20201021-225317_gors

    The idea is that Guardians provide permanent Aegis for the Dragonhunters and themselves to maintain Unscathed Contender, while the rest of the squad provides essential buffs and boons — Might, Fury, Quickness, Alacrity, Banners, Spirits etc.

    Other than that nothing really changed for Gorseval:
    — We ignore the Defiance Bar and phase him before it becomes an issue.
    — We split four ways to minimise the time spent in split phases.
    — We do not use a Druid because Druids do not deal damage and Might, Spirits, Sustain can be provided without one

    — Our Composition —

    Group 1 Group 2
    Phalanx Strength Berserker (Bekko) Phalanx Strength Berserker (Bovan)
    Seize the Moment Chronomancer (Yulian) Seize the Moment Chronomancer (Xyonon)
    Virtues Dragonhunter (Lunar) Virtues Dragonhunter (Calabit*)
    Perfect Inscriptions Guardian (Siky) Perfect Inscriptions Guardian (Frosterid)
    Alacrity Renegade (Sven) Leader of the Pack Soulbeast (Sascha*)

    \These videos are not from the main record. The runs are virtually the same, but people either forgot to record, didn't notice that their drive reached capacity or found another recording being closer to what they wanted to show.*

    — Phalanx Strength Berserkers —
    They are mainly responsible for Might and Fury within their own group, through Phalanx Strength and "For Great Justice!". Obviously, they brought Banner of Discipline and Banner of Strength which they placed slightly away from Gorseval to help out slower groups in Split 1.
    Empower Allies is also a nice bonus.

    — Seize the Moment Chronomancers —
    They ensure permanent Quickness throughout the fight and also synergise well with each other as they maintain Slow for Danger Time.
    We decided against Firebrands because of how much less effort it takes to effectively maintain Quickness on Chronomancers, compared to the lengths a Firebrand would have to go to for providing long-lasting Quickness.

    — Virtues Dragonhunters —
    They are our main source of damage and provide little sustain through Battle Presence and Signet of Courage. "Feel My Wrath!" is not required to maintain Quickness or Fury, and the minuscule DPS increase from Dragon's Maw is not even worth considering.
    They pre-cast all traps that do not disappear when you replace them, to speed up Split 1 further.

    — Perfect Inscriptions Guardians —
    They maintain Aegis and Swiftness through "Retreat!", greatly increasing the damage output of the Berserkers, Dragonhunters and themselves — that also means having enough sources of Aegis to block Spectral Impact and re-apply it immediately after.
    They use Perfect Inscriptions and actively cast their Bane Signets because, in terms of damage, what their group gains in each phase vastly outweighs what they lose.
    They also pre-cast all traps that do not disappear when you replace them, to speed up Split 1 further.

    — Leader of the Pack Soulbeast —
    This is an obvious choice when not using a Druid, just because Frost Spirit is so valuable.
    Furthermore, they provide Moa Stance to help maintain boons throughout the split phases, and Leader of the Pack in combination with One Wolf Pack is also nice additional damage boost.

    — Alacrity Renegade —
    They tank Gorseval because they can provide themselves with Stability for Spectral Impact and therefore do not have to worry about losing Aegis.
    This should be a staple in every raid group by now, just because you can provide Alacrity to ten people with the press of a button. Heroic Command also helps to maintain Might throughout the split phases.

    GvG Tournament in GW2 China (10/24 - 11/01)

    I moved to Beijing recently, and was lucky enough to have a streamer lend me a China GW2 account so that I can play with reasonable ping. I'm a WvW player in NA, but in my experience China WvW seems to have no roaming scene and instead focuses on massive zerg fights during primetime. I'm not a fan of zerg fights, so I've been only playing PvP here.

    But lately, I've been hearing about a GvG tournament in WvW and I asked around for some more information. It seems pretty official, so I thought I'd let you all know it exists in case anyone is interested in finding out more or watching the tournament.

    Here are a few logistics:

    • 24 guilds competing with 20 players each
    • GvGs scheduled daily from October 24th to November 1st
    • 1st place prize: 20000 yuan and 200 black lion keys (roughly 150$ USD and 10 black lion keys per person)
    • 2nd place prize: 10000 yuan and 200 black lion keys
    • 3rd place prize: 5000 yuan and 200 black lion keys
    • Each team participating will receive at least 125 black lion keys
    • Prize money is in the form of a Jingdong card (like an Amazon gift card)
    • Website includes: more prize details, daily schedule, bracket, streams, and team pictures

    There are 3 featured streamers for the tournament on the website, but as of now the links to their streams just point back to the website. I'm assuming they will be updated when the competition goes live.

    I really like gw2 and i see a lot of people talking about how this game is good and they are actually right, if they are talking about Pve of course.
    Guys we need to talk about bots, they have infested pvp matches, is almost impossible play a PvP match without a bot in the match, and the worse of all is that are the same bots, for at least two weeks ago if not more time, what means that they are not getting banned.
    Today i play some matchs with a guy and when i complain about this with him, he says to me that the devs dont do anything because people dont care enough to manifest about it.
    If that is the problem lets unite, lets show them that we care, lets make a move to atract their attention.
    i am not a genius to have a great idea, but we can do something like post a picture of bots here everyday until they fix( yeah i know that it is not original) , idk but we need to do something to change.
    sorry about my english is not my native language, and it is like my second post on reddit so maybe i am forgeting something.( i am gold 2 at the moment if it matters 100+ matchs 3x3 ranked and probalby half of them has a bot on it)

    King of the costume brawl achievement

    I decided to grind this achievement, if you don't know it requires 500 costume brawl "wins". My questions are:

    1, What is the fastest hitting tonic that would make this grind as fast as possible?

    2, Do you know some trick that can help speed the process up?

    I'm also looking for another player who also wants this achievement, so we can do it together. I was thinking we let the other win a fixed amount and then swap places, and repeat this until we both have 500 wins.

    Raids & Fractals Revenant advice

    Hi,

    a pretty noob player and want to start with raids and fractals. Currently playing shortbow renegade, but i am not sure if this is preffered build for raids and fractals? Should i switch to something like aclarity boon support S/S &Scepter revenant or could i be usefull as shortbow condi renegade?

    Is anybody else's enjoyment of the game diminished cause your eyesight is very bad?

    I remember enjoying this game several years ago. But in the past few months, I've been giving it a few tries, and I just found something off. I don't really enjoy it anymore despite really trying to.

    And then it hit me. It's my blind ass. A big part of this game is being immersed in the world, looking around you, at other people and even your own character, appreciating your armor, your legendaries that you worked hard for.

    But I'm not interested at all in how people or cool items or the world looks. And it dawned on me that that's precisely why I don't enjoy the game. And I'm not interested in how things look cause I'm a myopic asshole lol.

    Don't get me wrong, I can read things just fine, I'm not that blind. But the enjoyment out of looking at things is gone lmao.

    I'm a fairly new player here, and i'm planning to buy the PoF expansion. If example, i have the FULL game on my pc and on my account and i want to transfer the whole game to another pc and make an alt account, will that be possible? Or the expansions are bound to only one account?
