I played D&D for the first time ever today: Guild Wars references came in useful

I'm currently visiting my family as lockdown has started easing. My sister asked me if I wanted to join in the D&D game she was GM'ing as they needed another player. I agreed, not having a clue what I was letting myself in for.

I played a bard (I made all my Witcher jokes early on, and called myself Jaskier). We were rescuing some people from some goblins. As a bard, I had a spell called Vicious Mockery, which turned out to be very useful. Rather than fight the goblin, I chose to piss it off by using Vicious Mockery, insulting the goblin by yelling, 'You move like a dwarf!'.

    Apparently that was really effective.

I did start getting attacked and I ended up escaping using Misty Step, assuring my team that, 'I'll be back!' and giving them extra inspiration with, 'Never give up!'. I did return, and 'Aim[ed] for the eyes' with my crossbow, killing another goblin.

By the time the last goblin was left, I shouted at him, 'You're all alone', incapacitating him with sleep and proceeded to tie him up with my lute strings and violate whatever the D&D equivalent of the Geneva Convention is by torturing him for information (by tightening the lute strings, which I figured would hurt quite a lot).

For the best part of three hours I made do with Guild Wars shouts and I think I did a pretty good job, and I don't think any of the others had a clue what I was referencing so they thought I was being original.

    Was fun.

    Advice please

Hello! MMO fan here👋🏻 Female gamer who's been playing WoW for the past 7-8 years and am honestly grown tired of it and am broke af and don't wanna pay for a game anymore. Never been good at it but did enjoy the game overall but looking for something new.

Long story short: Played Guild Wars 2 for a while and loved it. Life got in the way and I hadn't played in YEARS. Stupidly went back to wow and regretting the decision and wanted to get back into GW.

What's the difference between GW1 and GW2? Do I need to play the GW1 first?? Please help and please don't judge how naive I am to all this. Thanks!😊

    There is only GuildWars

Who else can claim that GuildWars is the only online game they have ever played?

I have been fortunate enough to find enough to occupy myself and keep the love and interest in the original GuildWars and its expansions both in the game itself and its community that I have never wanted or needed to even try any other online games. Including the sequel.

GuildWars is literally the only one for me.

I wonder if I'm the only one....

Fastest way to get Seven Weapons Stance?

    Posted: 18 Jul 2020 05:24 AM PDT

I have a Nightfall Warrior and would like to get the skill. As far as I know it can be captured only in Raisu Palace when a party member carries a Proof of Triumph.

So having not completed anything of the Factions campaign yet, what is the fastest way to get to Raisu Palace to capture the skill? Do I really have to play all Factions missions first?
