    I've been trying to solo all fractals on an Elementalist lately and stumbled upon multiple problems in the Underground Fractal.

    Since most people were under the impression that there is no "legit" way for one person to get past the console room, I decided to upload a Chrono PoV.

    Risk/Reward factor has a larger impact on content popularity than difficulty

    Arenanet thinks raid engagement is low because the difficulty is too high. If you compare raids to other difficult content though, the story doesn't add up.

    In fractals, T4 fractals can be rather difficult, highly likely to result in a wipe in a LFG run. Especially certain fractals. Yet people still do them regularly. Why? Because if you finish a t4 fractal daily, you get all tiers of chests, which can be insane gold per hour.

    In comparison, look at strikes. People do the easy strikes like Shiverpeaks/Voice and Claw/Cold War, but often skip whisper and boneskinner unless they have a good group. Why do they do this? because the rewards for boneskinner/whisper are about the same as other strikes, but have a much higher probability of wasting time from wipes. So even though they're far easier than T4 fractals, they usually get skipped.

    Going back to raids, there isn't much reward to clear them once you got what you want out of them. First clear gives mastery and a 1 time chest, but after that, the only real value is Legendary armor. If you aren't going for legendary armor this doesn't matter, or if you already have legendary armor, it doesn't matter.

    At 2 gold per boss(2.5 gold if you count value of shards, karma, other drops), the gold per hour from raiding is awful, especially after expenses like food/utilities. You make much faster guaranteed gold farming Drizzlewood, or faster gold doing daily strikes/fractals.

    Reward mechanisms affect player behavior a lot more than fun factor. It's why people will spend hours doing Dolyak escorts on Drizzlewood while Bjora Marches is dead. It's why no one runs dungeons anymore, but ancient maps like silverwastes still have lots of activity.

    Basically, if an activity poses a high risk of ending in failure, but for little reward, players will skip it. if the reward is sufficient, players will generally risk it. Due to the extent rewards affect behavior, the popularity of an activity cannot be a fair assessment of how much players enjoy it without also taking into context its rewards relative to other activities.

    With raids being limited to weekly rewards, I don't see why the rewards can't be increased without causing problems. I mean if people can make 40g/hour farming Drizzlewood 24/7, I don't see why raids can't offer a bit more.

    Roaming in wvw - a passion

    Hi everyone! I just wanted to give a shoutout to my fellow roamers out there. I know there's super legit strategy and build wisdom to zerg clashes, but to me there's nothing like meeting a player or two in the roads and just feeling that rush of "let's goooooo!!!"

    Though it's older news now, I wanted to thank u/Noodica for the MRGA challenge. I feel like it helped bring some sorely needed attention back to this style of playing wvw. My guild didn't find out about it until close to its conclusion, but that along with some good fights with individuals and small groups over the past couple months have breathed life back into this game for me and my fellow guild mates.

    So in short, fellow roamers, I salute you, and look forward to battling you in the mists!

    Will we ever save Blish?

    I get that we're hard at work stopping Scar and his Simp Boyfriend, but we have the means and ability to go get Blish back now that Kralk is dead. Aurene can literally go into the mists and grab him.He's still stuck there, trapped in his mind forever. I legit feel guilty over this.

    Edit: Had the question answered for me. Good to know he isn't suffering, at least.

    Need advice, lvl80 bosst, Druid and a lot of content

    I want to rush a lot of PVE but also play some PVP, Raid and fractals. How about a Druid?

    I still have my lvl80 boost so... what do you think? I need advice here because I don't want to misspend the boost and I also do not want to stick to one gamemode per character (that's what the people of my guild is telling me)

    A lot of crashes today

    Anyone exp much dc? i have been having a lot of dc .. at least 6 times the last 3 hours so far. The first dc was with a friend in wvw and he dc at the same time as me too. then i was experiencing multiple dc after. sometimes dc when i leave squad (happened 2 times when i leave squad i get an instant dc). wondering if it is another DDoS attack?
