    I want Hammer and Shield to become more useful across the class spectrum.

    There are so many great skins for both Shield and Hammer, but generally these weapons seem lacking in multiple game modes across the class spectrum.

    If Hammer and Shield gets the Elite Spec treatment in the 3rd expansion on any class, I hope that the weapon will be on the more positive side of the usefulness scale. I feel like the CC nerf was over kill for Hammers especially, and most shields are just poorly designed or over nerfed like the Revenant Hammer for example.
    Revenant Shield is another example of just poor shield design. Never get used over better choices. I want to feel justified using these weapons, because there are so many great skins gone to waste.

    Update on my previous Post about a bubble on W5 Dhuum that nobody seems to know about

    First and foremost, thanks for all the replies on the previous post. After a few people gave me ideas on my issue i just today tried around and found the source of the bubble. First:

    Here it is in all it's glory. This entire time i was confused to what it is but i always failed to realise that its actually the aura granted by my Water overload (hence why i have the same bubble). Apparently something in the middle there counts as an ally and can be granted a bubble. Maybe it was just me being stupid, but thanks to everyone i was able to find out what it is! So thank you guys so much, finally i dont feel crazy anymore just a little bit stupid

    I have the achievement unlocked and the minipet standing right next to me and I used to use the title all the time. I took a bit of a hiatus and now that I'm back it's gone and out of my title inventory. I reached out to support but also wondering if it was communicated when they reworked the gauntlet. Anyone else have this issue?

    Zaishen Dailies in Gw2

    I've been playing Gw1 a ton lately and have been thinking about specific features that in hindsight I would have liked to have seen in early Gw2 or could potentially still be adapted into the game. Zaishen Dailies is something that stands out to me.

    Now obviously we already have a fair few dailies in Gw2 so I can understand there may not be much appeal at adding more. With this in mind, the objectives of adding more would be to

    • a) revitalize old or unused content
    • b) provide additional ways of obtaining items that have limited acquisition methods and
    • c) give people who like variety another way of obtaining items they can obtain by various other means

    What should the Zaishen Daily categories be?

    As mentioned previously, our first objective is to help revitalize old or unused content and that's the driving force for selecting what categories to use. I'm generally trying to avoid content that already has regular dailies already, i.e PvP/WvW/Strikes/Fractals.

    • DUNGEONS: Say no more: abandoned content at it's finest. There are a total of 52 Dungeon paths and this is more than enough for a nice varying Zaishen schedule.

    • BOUNTIES: Straight from Gw1 itself, we also have a bounty system in Gw2, but it is mostly unused and unrewarding. There are enough POF bounties straight up to populate a nice repeating Zaishen schedule and there are many other creatures that could be potentially be included such as underplayed meta events or even the popular world bosses just as a cherry on top incentive to do your other dailies. I'd consider splitting these into two categories; PoF bounties and then World Bosses/Meta event Bosses.

    • RAID BOUNTIES: Sadly this is currently abandoned content. Raid Bounties make more sense than entire wing dailies since there are only 7 to choose from and doing an entire wing is not as feasible for some. However just like the old Gw1 dailies some Raid bounties are going to take longer than others (especially if you can't buy an end-boss instance) and hence are going to be more rewarding. Just like in Gw1 you could hold up to 3 dailies (maybe 4 so you can do entire dungeons or entire raid wings) and thus be able to hold a wing full of dailies.

    REWARDS

    I haven't fleshed this out much yet in my head but I'm thinking the bronze, silver and gold coin system would be a good way to distinguish between difficulties/time requirement of the dailies with the added benefit of a minor gold sink for upgrading the coins. If you're not familiar with the system; each Zaishen daily would reward x amount of Bronze Zcoins which could be upgraded as such 50 Bronze -> Silver, 10 Silver -> Gold.

    I'd make the executive decision that the coins would be a currency in your wallet and hence not tradeable; however the rewards would consist mostly of tradeable items.

    Each individual quest comes with a reward as well just like in Gw1. I would scrap the gold reward and replace it with Karma. I would keep the experience reward. I would adapt the area specific rewards to Gw2 i.e raid bosses give minimal raid currency, dungeon paths give minimal dungeon currency, PoF bounties give minimal elegy mosaics, etc.

    This is where I want some feedback. Going back to the suggested objectives of implementing Zaishen Dailies: b) provide additional ways of obtaining items that have limited acquisition methods and c) give people who like variety another way of obtaining items they can obtain by various other means with the additional question of: why would people want to do Zaishen dailies specifically?

    Unique Rewards

    1. A title for trading x amount of Gold Zaishen Coins
    2. A cape for trading x amount of Gold Zaishen Coins
    3. An outfit for trading x amount of Gold Zaishen Coins
    4. Some sort of new guild decorations
    5. A unique account bound Zaishen weapon set
    6. A unique Infusion with some exorbitant price stuck on it. Account bound, probably.

    Common items with limited acquisition

    1. Supreme runes of holding - this ties nicely into the Gw1 Zaishen reward system where a large draw of the Gold Zcoins is the bag upgrades. They also have very limited acquisition.

    2. Mystic coins - potentially, but they'd need to get the balancing right and I am definitely open to excluding them if that would prove too hard. On the same wavelength - mystic clovers, legendary shards.

    Common items

    This section would mostly be filler that I haven't begin to flesh out. What to and what not to include really comes down to how well the rewards are effectively balanced. I'm hesitant to make too many suggestions right now because we just got given a gigantic farm map that has crashed prices on items I'd normally suggest like the shipments from Volatile magic. Compile a list from your usual suspect vendors like Laurels etc.

    Legendary armory and the equipment death

    Today I went back to game after spending some time on some other mmo. In this period I think I have understood a little better the game progression of gw2.

    In other mmo the equipment overwrites 99% of your inability to understand and react to game mechanics. You don't know how to play the game but do you have the right equipment? Perfect you can kill almost all content.
    On gw2 the time spent in the game only teaches you how to play better. Your equipment is very optional and however it does not guarantee success especially in the most difficult contents.

    Surfing the internet I found also an interview by Mike Z who declares the average of gw2 players has 10 times (not 10%) less damage than hardcore players with with the same equipment. (I can't even imagine the value of the player base).

    The introduction of the Legendary armory seems to me the perfect time to make the leap in quality by eliminating the superfluous. It would be a really big step forward if we could have a real mmo that reached the cap eliminates once and for all the equipment.
    What do you think about it?

    Guild Mission groups

    I'm doing some guild missions for my one man guild. It's pretty tough to get groups or find other guilds doing races though. Are there specific times a lot of guilds do them or groups that have set times they do guild races? I tried putting a group in lfg and got one person but I'm guessing dragonbash is taking up most people's time.

    Question about legendary armor

    Do you need a full set for the animation to activate? For example if i only can get 4 pieces of mistforged legendary pvp armor, will the animation still show when i go into combat?

    PVE berserker build

    Hello

    I need help with my build. I am a berserker and feel like I don't do enough damage. I'm not that good at the game, still learning and all.I copied build for condi banner. but it still takes like 10 seconds minimum for normal mobs in path of fire and such. And struggle a lot against veteran mobs. I saw a berserker soloing a champion. My berserker could never do that.

    I don't have ascended gear. I would be going to farm it but if I can't handle veterans I feel like going for ascended gear is too hard for now.

    I'm using rampager's gear, with balthazar's runes on it. running sword sword and mace torch.

    Any tips on making a build or what to do?

    Please tell me if this sub is not recommended for questions like this:

    Why none of the guides suggest laser disk on condition holosmith for pve? I am asking cause it deals crazy bleed damage and easily gives you 25 might with Sanguine Array trait.

    I am very new in this game and the 3 kit build gives me a headache so i was thinking of replacing bombs wiht laser disk to make it easier for now. How much dmg would i loose cause i feel it wont be much..

    Holosmith PvP help & tips please :D ?

    Hi all,

    little about me, I'm back to the game after like 4 years I left when HoT was like still kinda new to the game. Now I got PoF and wanna try pvping as I used to before.

    As im running the s/s nade/explo build with alch/holo/explo rev rune,intel,energy sigil.

    My question is

    1. What are good combos to start a combat with explosive entrance?

    I somehow have a rough idea maybe it goes like Holo 2,3,1 then sword 3,2 try to add elixir U in between ?

    1. when do you use nade kit, mainly for kiting right?

    2. how do i condi cleanse? is it only through entering and exiting forge?

    3. Any good combos apart from what I mentioned?

    I would also love if someone can practice with me I'm on EU server. tysm!

    Bunker Builds

    So despite what people may think. I personally enjoy playing bunker classes in pvp. Or to be exact tanky builds that lets me both hold the side points and decap/ interrupt others and I've been doing this mostly with bunker soulbeast but after watching some MOTA gameplays it has me wondering a couple of questions.

    • Is Prot holo still a viable thing? I remember it popping up a month or so ago but I haven't seen it at lately and it disappeared off godsofwar

    • why do players normally go for condi herald builds? Not denying their usefulness but the class seems like a odd choice, also why not run condi renegade for the kalla stances over herald?

    • is bunker soulbeast still a good option? Or is there better options out there and if so what are they?

    [Discussion] A new approach to a Beastmaster elite spec for rangers.

    Inspired by /u/Anon_throwawayacc20 I began thinking of an elite spec similar to a Soulbeast, but instead focusing on the separation between the ranger and its pet, instead of the unity.

    The Spec works as follows:

    Weapon: Hammer or Mace.

    Profession Mechanic: "focus-swaps"
    Your F4 or F5 (depending on other F-skills) changing your controlled character.
    Either you play as your ranger:
    - The Core story with new Beastmaster-traits.

    Or You swap to play as your pet:
    - Your weapon skills are now pet-skills, your utility skills stay as those of your ranger.
    - F-skills become basic attacks for your non-pet character depending on their weapon.

    Discussion:

    Should pet-swap be disabled in such an elite spec?

    Should skills such as Search and Rescue make your non-pet character run out to revive?

    Should the specific pet affect skills-only or also the stats for the pet (armour/vitality/damage/condition duration)?

    Anything else really.
    I'd love to read more ideas on a specialisation such as this.

    Tribulation Caverns Insta kill

    So recently I'm trying to complete Tribulation Caverns JP, it seems that crystal explode thingy in the last stage of the JP is now insta kill you? I've been searching for guide in youtube but it only take about 3/4 of your health not insta kill you.

    Is it a bug or is it ANet idea of "having fun" to make JP so much harder? Cuz for sure i'm not having fun, even if i'm standing outside the red circle it somehow instagibbed you to oblivion.
