It feels like the game is alive again...

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 02:04 AM PDT

I'm going to keep this short and hopefully invite discussion on the subject; it feels like there is new life being breathed into this game and it's not just because of the upcoming expansion. Whoever is in charge now really knows what they're doing and the increased communication as well as meaningful updates happening on all levels of the game could have GW2 bounce back and become a forerunner as an MMO, almost in the way ESO rose from its ashes.

With the upcoming expansion, legendary competitive trinkets, new location for living world, season 1 story, updates to the Wiki, it feels like the game is getting a 3-point restoration from top to bottom

I'm glad Conquest is back in ranked and all, but damn I really miss 2v2s

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:50 AM PDT

I know it's not balanced, I know a lot of people get frustrated with it but I've been waiting for 2v2 since beta weekend. I know it's not as strategic and competitive as conquest as a game mode but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hope Anet doesn't make it wait too long before we get the opportunity to queue back up for 2v2s.

    Mount skins

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:18 AM PDT

I've been having lag issues whenever I use my mount with default skins. I read that someone was able to fix the issue if I used a non default skin, so I've been wondering when is the best time to buy them? I'd assume it'd go cheaper during big events like Wintersday or Halloween.

And does it relate to this bug when the movements to turn left and right are jerky?

I used to have no issues with mounts, but I took a break for a few months. I'm not sure if this is because of a recent update.

    Sc/Wh Tempest vs Rifle Deadeye

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 02:49 AM PDT

After trying out most of the classes (and admittedly writing off a few I knew I wouldn't like) I've come down to two classes, and I'm not sure which one to main.

Deadeye: I love the simplicity of its skillset; due to the initiative system you only need one general "damage" skill (double tap/three round burst), for example. I love being able to use terrain to my advantage, hitting enemies from favorable positions and the like. As for what I dislike, lack of cleave is obviously a problem; I tend to get overwhelmed in the open world fairly often when I take on too many enemies. I don't find the need to plant myself to deal optimal damage a big deal, but I've heard it would lock me out of being effective in quite a few raids/T4 fractals.

Tempest: This one seems like it's more useful in most scenarios and overall the "better" class, having a wide array of skills and utility whilst still being at ranged, which is the playstyle I favor in MMOs. (Yes, I know you have to stack in group content, I still prefer the small amount of free movement ranged offers.) As to what I dislike, it's definitely the less "cool" class; if staff was any good it'd be fine, but scepter/warhorn just looks goofy compared to a Deadeye's rifle. Also, I despise the conjured weapons system. The weapons feel unwieldy and uncomfortable to use; I'm not sure how much of a DPS loss it would be to take something else, since all the power builds I see online have the lightning hammer and fire greatsword on the hotbar.

Overall, I actually like both classes for opposite reasons; the Deadeye has very few skills, and mastery is more about good timing and fight knowledge to minimize movement, whereas Tempest has a wide array of skills to tackle a number of scenarios.

If I was to try to "master" one of them and take them into raiding later on, which one should I go for?

    Roller Beetle Bounty [HELP]

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 06:25 AM PDT

Simple post - Roller Beetle requires a bounty to be done in Domain of Kourna (Living World Season 4 Episode 3). Nobody seems to play it and I don't think it's really possible to solo it. Any helpful souls out there got a group willing to help a poor noob late to the game?

Need Help/ Suggestion Next Heavy Class

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 04:52 AM PDT

    Hi there,

sorry for the next "which class to play" post. I'd like to hear from your experience about fun/ playability/ role/ ...

I have all classes but right now enjoy playing Herald (power dmg), Reaper (power dmg) and tried kind of an Viper-Tempest. I really enjoyed playing a support/ heal/ boon - chrono in fractals when it was a thing.

I think it's time for another supportive role I'd like to try out. I'm stuck between Renegade and Firebrand. What do you think is more sought after?More fun to play etc. I do have an ascended Berserket-Set and will craft a new one. The question is now go for Harrier or Divine?

With my Zerker Set I could spec for an Power-Quickbrand. Is it much different from an DD-crole? With Harrier-Gear I could go the Heal-Brand route?

For an Renegade/ Alactrigade I`d need a Divine Set, right? There's the option to go with Harrier here, too and have an heal-Renegade. Is this viable at all?

So with a Harrier & Zerker Set I could play: Power-DPS Herald, Power-DPS Dragonhunter, Quickbrand, Helabrand and Heal Renegade.

With a Divine & Zerker Set I could play: Power-DPS Herald, Power-DPS Dragonhunter, Quickbrand, Alactigade.

What s your experience what would be the most smart move? I mostly play Strikes right now and fractals. No guild or static so I'm pugging lfg.

Sure I'll work on gathering more different aspects but right now I'm short on mats/ time and resources so I'd need to commit. Sorry for the chaotic read, I'll probably edit it a bit. Thanks! :)
