My Ideas on new GW2 Specialisations | Elementalist

    Hello!

I'm Lu and I play Guild Wars 2. I make high-end edits and concepts from gw screenshots, which you can find in the links below the article.

Some time ago I posted my first concept for Guild Wars 2 (fictive) specialisation. You can find it on this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/e2lo6o/my_ideas_on_new_gw2_specialisations_necromancer/

Since I've had ideas for most classes, I would like to share with you the ones I've worked on.

So far I created a concept for Necromancer and here comes the Elementalist!

I do enjoy playing this class in all core, tempest and weaver style. We know that the main elements are air, water, earth and fire, but there hasn't been any mention about the fifth element (not the movie), which I think could be great option!

This is basically the "universe energy", "ligt", "antimatter", "black holes" kind of stuff. Now, I know that weaver can actually combine all four elements with the elite skill, but here I'm thinking of a new attunement. For the skills of this I imagine some heavy CC like floating, knockback and stun. And since in the space are extreme temperatures, I'd go with extreme conditions >:) - chill, confusion, blind, slow, cripple... Also when you create a star, you apply burn.

I was also considering an idea of time/dimension travelling - an attack that would be delivered from past, present and future - thus making 2 copies of the character.

When it comes to weapon, I'd choose longbow - long-ranged type, which could be also very useful in pvp/wvw! There could be also some lore/mythology behind this!

There are so many great options for how the skills could look like, because it could be directly taken from the physics and its laws. I was mostly inspired by combining classes such as chronomancer, engineer and revenant. Maybe sounds too OP.

Nevertheless, I might work on this deeper in the future, but I would Love to see your ideas if you're interested :). And remember, this is just a fan-made concept so feel free to leave suggestions!

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 02:41 AM PST

The official race of the BCL in NA is near, what better way to maintain all that hype, than to relive a compilation of what has been experienced in Europe.

I hope you like this, see you soon in NA ^^

The opening instances need to be updated

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 08:33 AM PST

I know that this is something that many veteren players are already very familiar with but I wanted to shed more light on why I am suggesting that the opening instances NEED to change. As many are aware, the opening instances after creating a character for the first time isn't exactly interesting or engaging what so ever. Ever since the update many years ago, you have access to only your auto attack and your heal skill. Your heal skill is literally pointless as you can't die in the opening instance.

As veteran players who have played since launch or before these changes were made, we can mostly all agree that these changes were for the worse. Now imagine how completely brand new players to Guild Wars 2 feel after starting the game from scratch. The reason I bring this up is because over the past year, I have referred 3 friends to come and play GW2 and literally all of them after playing the opening scene and the first couple levels have said something along the lines of "wow.. this is boring" and it essentially destroys any reason for them to look forward to more, so they quit before they have even given it a chance.

This really annoys me because I can't even deny how boring it can be, and it spoils all the incredible things that GW2 has to offer because the BEGINNING of that journey, the most important time of the journey is dull, boring and not engaging. Seeing first hand that people don't give GW2 a chance after this, I can only imagine the thousands of new players who have done the same thing - and i can imagine this is not what anet was going for. Previously you at least had a few different skills and cool animations and it didn't feel like an auto attack fest before you start discovering new skills, weapons and experiences.

    Just my two cents.

    WvW Language Question

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 08:28 AM PST

I'd like to ask French players. Is that so hard to answer in english in WvW when someone asks something? I mean, you know that server linking is universal now. So how do you expect players from english speaking server to understand what your commands are? Do we have to wait and hope that another time we won't be linked with non-english server?

    Thanks for your time.

One of the issues GW2 developers seem to have with making new content is that the Legacy Code/Hard Code in the game seem to give the current developers issues when they want to make new stuff.

One of the issues GW2 developers seem to have with making new content is that the Legacy Code/Hard Code in the game seem to give the current developers issues when they want to make new stuff.

other then making the game from the ground up again, what are some realistic solutions to this problem?

Because if making the game from the ground up with more efficient legacy code is the only solution, I rather they make a brand new MMO game than do all that.

    Massive inconsistant sound problems

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 06:45 AM PST

    Hey there!

So for like a month GW2 is no longer giving me any audio output.
It's extremely strange. I'Ve changed the output devices and reinstalled my sound drivers but nothing worked.
And now I've seen a cutscene where suddenly I had music and Aurene growling, the average real talk tho was silent.

I have no idea what's going on, anyone has any ideas? Sound drivers are Realtek and additionally i'm using Nahimic 2+

I don't think there is any need for Gw3

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 08:46 AM PST

The biggest reason I see people saying they want a gw3 is because of the outdated engine. Anet could take the servers off for a bit and change the engine. Of course there is A LOT of work that would go into it essentially making it feel like gw2 but it wouldn't be the first time a company has changed engines on an MMO.

    Not receiving hero points.

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 08:23 PM PST

My daughter recently took an interest in GW2 so I've been going through starting zone with her ( she's in the Sylvari starting area). When we do hero points where you need to fight something she gets the hero point but when she needs to 'commune' with the point to get it she gets nothing. We've tried completely logging out and back in again but that doesn't work so we are kind of at a loss for why this is happening. She's currently level 13.

Any ideas on how to remedy this? I remember having a similar issue back when I was playing on a free account but I forgot how I fixed the issue.

Chak Weapons/Auric Weapons: Doing the metas VS spamming story missions?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 04:32 PM PST

There's a way to obtain "free" Auric/Chak Weapons by doing the Heart of Thorns Personal Story on your alt. If you need both of these collections completed, does anyone know if it's faster to do Auric Basin/TD Daily and buy them with their respective currencies required or use your army of alts?

Do Druids have value outside of healing in group content?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 10:37 AM PST

The reason I ask is because, stupidly, I used my free level 80 boost on my Ranger and chose the Druid elite spec because, well, I like druids. I know, I know, I should've done my homework, but it is what it is.

Do Druids have any value outside of healing in group content? I'd really like to be able to play with this spec immediately, but I'm not yet confident in my skills to do group content just yet.

Is there anything I can do here, or should I just start saving my HP for Soulbeast?

Can we really be mad at Anet's treatment of the gemstore?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2020 02:18 AM PST

I agree as much as the next guy that Gw2 has a lot of issues with it right now. But this situation is one we sort of created ourselves. Most of the other major players in the game have a lot more income potential. I doubt many people are buy new copies of Gw2 now a days with as long as the game has been out for. Their main/almost only source of revenue from this game is the gemstore.

You've got games like ESO that require money to buy to play it, has a subscription service that has some really good benefits to it, releases new mini content packs every quarter that cost money. They have no way to convert ingame money to cash shop money. New content that contains new abilities, classes, etc. With all of this, ESO is starting to become more popular than Gw2.

WoW is same story. Base purchase, required subscription service, and cash shop.

    FF14 same story.

Yet if Gw2 so much has a mention of a subscription service for the Asian market in its .dat files, the subreddit/community goes up in flames.

The entire company is pretty much relying on Gemstore sales, so is it no wonder they focus on it. Its no wonder they're trying to develop new IPs. They need to desperately diversify their investments. Get some sort of other income coming into the company so they're not in such a risky situation. The ship has sailed to really get a turn around on this. But for a F2P game, Gw2 offers an insane amount of stuff to the player.
