    Mercenary Death Squad

Spent a few hours farming Turai Ossa's Story for undead weapons and kitted out my full mercenary death squad.

My only complaint is they still "run" in the costume despite not having legs... If only they could just hover around.

Most enjoyable profession list and why

    Posted: 09 Dec 2019 12:04 PM PST

Leaving speed runs and meta builds aside, which profession is most enjoyable for you?

    Here's my list

    1. Elementalist: Great energy management for spells, which are most skills in the game. This lets me use most skills in the game on a single character. Tho in some cases not as great as on their primary profession, playing a E/N minion mancer , or a E/Mo protter/healer is still good in normal mode.
    2. Ritualists: Very versatile and i enjoy playing versatile professions. can deal aoe dmg, dps spirits, group protection spirits, minion mancer, splinter bow or even go melee. I also really enjoy its animations, armor and overall theme (and skill colors)
    3. Assassin: Used to be my main for a little while (tho i never farmed ecto with it). I really enjoyed the ability to be tanky with critical agility, get in, have super fast attacks that dealt big dmg around me. As well as the ability to run my self and others around. Really good animations and armor imo
    4. Warrior: My oldest main. I loved the passive defenses and the ability to just sprint into the mobs head on and deal pretty good dmg. Save your selves is a great option to have in harder places, but i mostly loved the fact i could switch between 3 weapons on a single class. The sever artery + gash combo is still my favorite thing to do even tho bleed is like 6dps and you could get a quicker deep wound going with axes. It was the profession i spent most of my pvp days as well.
    5. Ranger: Even tho its not a spellcaster, it feels like a very versatile profession. can spike with a bow, aoe with it, check out its area for any elevations for better range and stronger attacks, set traps, tame beasts to fight for him, use pet attacks, summon nature spirits, have various stances for running as well as going in melee. Back in the day i made a survival prophecies ranger and i played him very thematically and i enjoyed every second of it. My oldest character is a PvP ranger that i used to trap Z-elite with and unlock every single normal skill in the game.
    6. Dervish: Tho i still prefer to engage with a warrior, and attack with an assassin, dervishes have some pretty cool and powerful skills. I loved the scythe weapon and now i love that it isn't as obnoxious and flashy as other scythe wielding classes in other game is. Running with a derv seems to go smoother for me compared to assassins, but only so much. Avatar forms are also pretty amazing.
However the best reason why i love dervishes is because they are the best class to start with in the game imo. They are strong, they are durable, they can run, they get heroes from the get go and they start off in Kamadan which is pretty much the main city in the game now days (besides pre-searing ascalon) which overall makes the game experience so much more better.
    7. Paragon: My first contact with a paragon was in fort ranik mission when some paragon player started spreading his wings on the battlefield. At first i thought it was a warrior, but the "P" was strange and the skills were new and weird to me (i wasn't even aware of it existing back then). I never actually played the class that much but i really enjoy its lore and skill animations. And even without them getting their skill revamps, i'm happy to know they are the best profession for their role via imbagon build.
    8. Monk: I used to play a lot of monk back in the day, usually as a healer /protector. Not many elite zones but the feeling of keeping players AND key npcs alive felt great. The best moment was when i created a Mo/R prophecies only spell breaker running build using The Yakkslapper unique staff. I ran my self across the entire prophecies with it and whenever i offered my self as a runner to friends, guildies and others i would get so many questions and doubts
    9. Necromancer: I can see the appeal of playing a "dark" themed character. Having cuts and sacrifice skills, cursing lots of enemies to deal dmg and kinda protect your allies, or the more popular option to just summon 10 minions and doubling your party numbers is great. But i could do all that (to a lesser degree) on my elementalist, so i wasnt playing much of necro. Soul reaping is amazing tho, but it felt kinda restricting compared to the elementalists more "on demand" energy management skills
    10. Mesmers: I never really got into them. I still dont like their animations or armor and i just cant get my self to play them no matter how powerful they are. I always considered them to be super powerful in pvp, so i went and played them a little bit as just basic anti spell caster / anti physical builds. At one time i heard talks about a "rezzmer". So i went into random arenas as a super fast casting mesmer that has 8 rezz skills on his bar.....and got into a team of 3 monks. It was the longest pvp match in my life

Whats your view on the game? Single or multiplayer game?

    Posted: 09 Dec 2019 10:58 AM PST

How do you guys look at this game?

I know its technically a co-op, but all players, as well as npc henchman, heroes and even mobs use the same combat skills and mechanics which lets you play alone with friendly NPC AI vs the enemy AI, and its almost as fun as having a human player run with you and use the same skills a hero would.

In a game that lets you play all missions, quests, explore all zones, even vq hard mode zone all alone... where/when does multiplayer kick in?

Is it the trading system? The speed clears? PvP (if anything of it is left)?

Or is it as simple as a single player with an optional co-op feature?

Edit: Also, if one is playing solo, does character profession/build, and their hero team profession/builds even matter if they get things done?
