    Guild Wars End Game Farming

    Guild Wars End Game Farming

    End Game Farming

    Posted: 19 Dec 2019 02:35 AM PST

So I got back into GW after a brief 6-7 year hiatus this past week. I've been running through campaigns with a Ranger and enjoy the ranger class. With that being said, what end game speed clears/item farms can a ranger even do? The last I checked Sins and Dervs were the meta for most end game content that I'm looking to do. Thanks!

Did yesterday's patch fix game crashes?

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 10:57 PM PST

It seems my game doesn't crash in missions anymore at least, however, my game crashed when opening the world map in the undercity while doing Winds of Change.

    Experiences?

    A more "hardcore" perma-death challenge

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 04:12 AM PST

We have all been doing those chronological iron man challenges with limits on previously owned gold, mats, weapons and items and some even limited learning new skills based on the specific skills offered by skill trainers (The skills that come originally trough trainers rather than the ones shown cause you got them unlocked on your account already).

While it is fun and people mostly go for it just to "replay" things as they used to be in their early days i got an idea for a more harder challenge.

TLDR: Create a new self sufficient character, and beat the campaign with 0 deaths. Your henchman/heroes also have just 1* life

1 This is a campaign specific challenge

    • You make a new character and play trough all primary quests and missions for that characters campaign (no skipping)
    • Side quests and mission bonuses are optional
    • Don't cross-campaign travel, or continue to another campaign after finishing your characters original campaign
    • No heroes in prophecies or factions, can't add M.O.X. to your party.

2 You only have one life, but henchman deaths will kill them permanently as well

    • If you die, you failed.
    • If one of your henchman dies, you (or another henchman) can rezz them
    • When you rezz a henchman they get 1"death pentalty stack". At 5 DP stack they permanently die and you cant add them to your party anymore
    • If you don't rezz the henchman, and leave the explorable zone (or mission) with a dead party member, they permanently die and you can't add them to your party anymore
    • As you progress trough the story, you will find more new henchman in other outposts

3 Heroes (in nightfall) are stronger than henchman, but there is a price for that.

    • Heroes can have up to 7 DP stacks before they die and you can't add them to your party anymore.
    • Heroes also permanently die if you leave the explorable zone (or mission)
    • While heroes are stronger than henchman (skills, gear), if they permanently die, and you can't add them to your party during specific missions that require them to progress you failed the challenge.

    4 Iron-man mode

    • All gold, mats, weapons and items are self sufficient
    • You can only learn new skills via skill quests and skill trainers that can teach you their original skills (not the other ones you got unlocked on your account)
    • Using festival/event items and npcs is okay but only if you got them on your own
    • Using festival/event henchman (snowmen during wintersday) is fine, but they only have 1 life and cant stack DP.

    5 No cheating death

    • You can't map out, or leave the explorable zone/mission in any way if you are in combat, or if a mob is still chasing you
    • You can't enter a new explorable zone trough a portal if you are in combat or a mob is chasing you.

6 4 types of challenge! Easy, Normal, Hard and Hardcore!

    • Easy mode: You yourself can stack up to 5DP before you permanently die and fail the challenge
    • Normal mode: You have just 1 life, henchmen can stack 5DP and heroes can stack up to 7DP before they permanently die
    • Hard mode: You have 1 life, henchmen and heroes can stack only 4DP before they die permanently
    • Hardcore mode: You, henchmen and heroes only have just 1 life and cant stack any DP

I think this adds a significant challenge to just playing trough the campaign, or playing iron-man challenge.

Not only do you need to be careful for your own life, but if you let your henchman/heroes die your entire team gets weaker and weaker over time. Specially if they permanently die and your party numbers get smaller and smaller.

You will however encounter new henchman in other outposts as you play trough such as a necro and a mesmer in yaks bend, or a protector monk in amnoon, or even a whole new team of henchman such as devona, mhenlo and such.

    Halves skill recharge rounding

    Posted: 18 Dec 2019 10:42 AM PST

Putrid explosion has a cooldown of 5 seconds. If halves skill recharge procs on the skill, the cooldown will be 2,5. Will it round up to 3 seconds or down to 2 seconds?

If it rounds up, I assume bloodstainee insignia (25% lower cd) would make it 4 seconds and then that will be halved to 2.

Does the same rounding logic apply to fast casting?
