    TL;DR: Don't.

Wanted to do 250k but ran out of time and frankly also ran out of will. Let's do a poll: downvote this post if you don't see any point in this any more, and if you do, downvote.

Also, Anet, make the snowman tonics not require name typing to delete them... Ah who am I kidding, as if they even check these posts.

Achievement guide for A Very Merry Wintersday 2019 is done'

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 02:36 PM PST

    Hello guys!

It is me Yara. I am here again and I have just finished guide for Wintersday 2019 https://www.gw2fans.net/inpage/a-very-merry-wintersday-2019/

I can assure you that there are many mistakes and typos but unfortunately I have nobody to check my grammar anymore. So I would be very happy if you let me know whenever you find mistake.

There is brief summary about updates on my website:

    • Previews of reward skins were added - you can click on icon to preview skins and minis.
    • Rewards for achievements were added too. Some of them will redirect you on Wiki.
    • Advertisement was added. There is one banner on left side below Favorites.
    • Weekly lottery was added. Each week you can win 100g, 75g or 50g.
    • Thanks section was added. There is list of supporter and helper.
    • About me section was added. You can check there my profits from website and ytb.
    • Dark mode - I still don't know how to add it. I am not sure if my working schema Inpage supports it.
    • Patreon - I was asked if i have Patreon. I don't because I have absolutely no extra content or benefits I can offer you.

    And in conclusion:

A Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to whole community!

You guys are absolutely awesome and I wish you all the best in the year 2020. Maybe you don't realize it but you make this game great.

And of course I thank you all for warm welcoming of my site and I will be forever grateful for your support and feedback.

    Sincerely Yara.

    [FF] Conjured Amalgamate 1:42 record

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 07:45 PM PST

    https://dps.report/Ul8C-20191220-201149_ca

We ran DH for "Feel My Wrath!" to give quickness while killing hands and a single DPS chrono to focus pull swords and drop time warp for burn phase. If you look at the log, our quickness uptime looks awful. However, we always have quickness when we need it. Chrono is similar to DH against the boss but DH does much more damage to the hands, which is why it is superior to the chrono stacking composition.

You do basically no damage without the sword debuff. This leads to us holding our burst until swords hit the arm or boss. DPS players collected 4 swords during burn 1 and used them on burn 2 so we did not have to delay our burst, resulting in a very fast burn phase. We found that the kill speed of the second to last hand does not matter much, as the swords that come out of it are slow and you need to collect the swords it drops before killing the final hand anyway.

We believe our final phase could be optimized more, but we are done with this boss for now. We initially got a 1:46 and we were in the process of pushing it before banners were disabled. This was very unfortunate timing for us as 2 of the members we were progressing with had to leave before banners were re-enabled. This meant this kill took us more time than it should have as we needed to get 2 (crucial) players up to speed. Thank you to Prud and Kacodo for your initial work on this record.

A couple words of advice to those looking to play DH on this fight:

-You need to drop your trap very close to the boss during burn phase for it to trigger

-After dropping your trap (during F1 cast), you need to step backwards so you do not get "No line of sight" on your sword 2 and focus 4.

Will: Condi Druid - Shield collection

    Ryan: DH

    Rece: Chrono

    1:58 left VG 4 man

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 09:18 AM PST

    Hi guys,

Here is another 4 man VG. Very few has been done recently. Our Druid "Jaja" had a 0:33 left 4 man VG world record with [IA] quite a long time ago before the Scourge Meta arrived with a 2:12 left by [IvT]... He wanted to make it again so i invited him but I probably should have not because he had a 8 sec deconnexion during our best try. Hopefully that was in between 2 greens so he was able to save us in time !

We did not theorycraft it at all to find what could be the best class because we had few options with the 2 veterans "Jaja" and "Ketuja" who haven't played for 3 years. Unfortunatly, Shetsa was forced to play his Firebrand to get a condi class and i'm happy to say that he ended up alive on this one.

Using a Druid to control the seekers, going middle for the first and second phases was pretty obvious. We also pulled all 3 colored Valed Guards together to make the splits faster.

The Scourge Meta is still ahead even with our 1:58 left best try but it's probably possible to beat them with a bit of practise. I hope to see some motivated guys to make it.

    Our PoVs below :

    Chrono Boon (Titan) : https://youtu.be/xZiEeWegp1s

    Power Berserker (Ketuja) : https://youtu.be/ael1dO18_QY

    Condi Firebrand (Shetsa) : https://youtu.be/b4ijQFO5Z1s

    Druid (Jaja) : https://youtu.be/_vMYFlREsPk

TL;DR : VG 4 man, Druid 8 sec deco, Shetsa not dead

Could "Visions of the Past" be a testing template to somehow bring back LWS 1, or perhaps replace Fractals?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2019 03:41 PM PST

    Hello

So with a short term roadmap release we got a glimpse at a new story feature; Visions of the Past where we will follow Ryland Steelcatcher and his warband.

Seems a bit unusual to dive into a past side story, but that pretty much feels like what Fractals did thus far, and if ANET has given up on them I would suspect this would be a somewhat appropriate method of replacing them.

If nothing else, a new way of story-telling could be the appropriate way to finally fix the big story hole called Living World Season 1 that plagued post-LWS 1 players all these years. ANET did stress that they want to bring it back, but that they don't know how. Maybe this will be the solution if it works?

    • Kind regards
