#GuildWars2 just completed it's 100,000th internal game build. That's an average of 23 builds per day for more than 11 years across all parts of GW2!

why hasn't this been done yet?

On a second thought, isn't EoTM a perfect place for the brand new players?

    Posted: 27 Oct 2019 03:55 AM PDT

No mount. No gliders. Back when it was populated, the atmosphere there was way more casual iirc. It was a place for us to level up alt's; and meet the new players. Semi zerg vs zerg fights did happen quite often.

Last month, I really wanted to introduce a friend wvw. He installed the game. Finished the tutorial. Only then we found out that he can't join any wvw borderlands. There was a level cap. He had no interest in PvE. He just wanted to enter the battleground. He quit the game at like level 9.

Can Anet please consider bringing back the EoTM? Don't even need pips & rewards. Just let the new players join at level 1 like sPvP. Let them grind up some levels. It should be a place for them to prepare for the real WvW borderlands.

I am proposing this idea because I don't think the EBG and BL's are suited for the brand new players who just installed the game. But why not let them have a little taste at EoTM? Nothing can hurt.

I could be wrong. So convince me otherwise!

[EU] Still tremendous lag problems at Elona, across all maps

Does anyone know anything about this? Maybe a statement from Anet? Are they even aware?

Why did this game become so laggy?

    Posted: 27 Oct 2019 05:05 AM PDT

tl;dr: Lag is annoying. Anet pls fix.

Seriously, ever since the LS5 (or a bit before?) updates my game got laggy as hell. I have a good ping (~15-40ms) and my PC is in the upper-mid-tier category.

I guess I configured my network at least half-decently. It's not buffer bloat, it's not ping spikes, it's not even dependent on the connection (tried over LTE, Cable and VDSL). It's also not dependent on operating system (fiancé uses Windows, I use GNU/Linux+Lutris) or location (other people complain aswell when I raise the issue in chat, they often don't speak the same language as me).

I have at least ~30FPS in most large fights, so the input lag isn't caused by low FPS. Still it sometimes takes 4-5s until my button presses do anything. Sometimes there's this little "waiting" animation on the skill bar and just nothing happens. Sometimes there's the "I did the skill" animation but it doesn't register, 2-3s later the skill went back to being available even if it should be on cooldown.

This doesn't even exclusively happen on taxing maps or in huge crowds. Sometimes I think they didn't only fire a lot of people, but also axed a lot of servers.

The Solid Ocean Fractal desperately needs to be revisited

    Posted: 27 Oct 2019 06:32 AM PDT

As of right now, the solid Ocean Fractal itself is one of the worst pieces of content in the entire game. While some people may think it's a cool break from their fractal dailies, it's really no excuse to leave a 10-15 minute encounter of awful game design in an otherwise polished fractal lineup.

An absurd amount of time is dedicated to waiting for each phase of the fight. At its best, this can be a short time to gain some health before re-entering combat, but far too often this means standing around a clump of crystals waiting for the boss to finally attack you. Nothing about this boss feels threatening, and it doesn't justify the intense music as you fight it. The tentacles are annoying, and don't threaten the player in any way. The Jade constructs take a decent pug team a few seconds to kill, leaving you standing in a pile of crystals you have nothing to do with but wait around.

I know that its been a while since our last fractal rework, but nothing about this fractal stands up to what's great about the game's combat. That the entire section leading to the boss can simply be run past makes me think that this content was delivered half baked, and the devs want you to skip past it as quickly as possible. This boss fight and setting does have potential, and I really wish this outlier would be fixed in the near future.

    State of Chronomancer in PvE

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 10:38 PM PDT

    Hello Reddit.

I've been out of the loop for a couple of months, since the shatter rework on Chrono to be more accurate.

Back then, it was a complex, high skill ceiling, rewarding profession that i really liked to play, the gameplay was smooth with all the possibility that spec had to offer.

The shatter rework/tradeoff took all that away imo and i simply quit the game cuz i couldn't find that enjoyment that i had before but i'm planning on giving it a try one last time.

So i'd like to know if anything changes on Chrono since then and how is it in PvE (Dungeons and T4 especially).

I see that the Power/Boon build are still out there, did the gameplay changed drastically or is it still enjoyable and not clunky like before ?

Since everyone else is having a go at Mad King Thorn, thought I’d post my attempt!

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 09:21 AM PDT

Why are there so many loot items?

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 12:25 PM PDT

Shadow of the Mad King is pretty cool, but what I don't understand is why there are so many different loot items. Having to keep all the currencies in my inventory is taking up so much space and on top of that there are so many different foods that do basically the same thing, and a huge range of tonics I'll probably never use.

Am I missing a trick or is loot turning into an exercise in inventory management? xD

    Show FPS on GW2 screen

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 08:48 PM PDT

Is there a way to get frames-per-second (FPS) displayed on the screen in GW2? When I engage in a large scale fight, I'm getting slowdown and whiteout; I want to determine whether my picture resolution, anti-aliasing, etc., are too high, or if in fact the FPS has dropped.

Google says that the overlay app "OverWolf" will show FPS on GW2, but that seems to be erroneous.

Infusion Wars - a combination with the Ember infusion: question!

    Posted: 27 Oct 2019 03:33 AM PDT

Because it's the only thing that matters right now, right?

Anyway, on topic: I have a Charr elementalist and I am wondering what a certain combination with the Ember infusion looks like. Currently I have the Peerless and Ghastly infusion already on this character and I am wondering what the Ember infusion looks like with these two. I could find on YouTube already a few examples of the Ember infusion with the Ghastly infusion, but not with the Peerless infusion.

Futhermore, while I have a good idea of how this potentially would look like, something I really cannot find is what Chaos gloves do to the Ember infusion. Will the Ember infusion just override the Chaos Gloves? Or will the opposite happen? Or will they actually mix? This is something I am really wondering but cannot find on the internet (so far).

Is there someone out there who can help me out with getting a vision on this, before I "make the splunge" and buy the Ember infusion? Thanks in advance!
