1st Hardcore Ultimate Ironman Solo Prophecies run on Monk. No deaths! Posted: 06 Feb 2022 05:10 AM PST Good morning! I didn't think I'd be making another posts so soon after having completed all 6 classes solo in prophecies, but here I am again. When I finished all 6 classes, I felt there was one challenge in particular that still needed to be completed. A prophecies run, on my favorite class, using ironman rules, and without deaths: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDXC3bfvVynGmMrI-8K4iPMTmLxdsq3RQ . No one had done it yet, so I was determined to show it could be done. Over the course of a month and 71 hours, I completed prophecies using ironman rules, solo, and with no deaths. It involved porting out when things got bad, and A LOT of prep. I had to set up rules for myself on when I would play: keep phone on silent, make sure no one would need my attention, etc. If some thing came up, port out to a town immediately instead of trying to make a safe spot on the map work. It meant re-doing things I already made progress on, but that's the nature of it being careful. I also spent a fair amount of extra time on my main account testing builds and strategies before using them on my no-deaths character. A particularly tough challenge was getting from Droknar's Forge to Camp Rankor. That's a brutal area. I ended up having to go a pet build for this. There were also a few missions where I needed certain boss spawns too. This meant I'd port out after spending 2 or 20 minutes in the mission, all of which was protentional to die. On Abaddon's Mouth, I must've restarted that mission nearly 50 times. I think I got lucky on the spawns for Ring of Fire though and got that the first attempt. My scariest moment, without a doubt, was at the end of Abaddon's Mouth, with just two Ether Seals left. I accidentally got too close to the 2nd one and it KD'd me. I was fortunate to survive here. Looking back at the VOD, I had enough energy to cast Spell Breaker. I ran instead and lived with 100 hp. Any cast from an Ether Seal at 100hp would've killed me. I spent so long trying to complete Abaddon's Mouth though (with the 50 respawns) that I didn't port out and HOPED that I was going to live. Fortunately, I did. One last note on prep: I made sure I had EVERYTHING within reason that could possibly benefit me before moving forward in any paths. I had three sets of armor: high energy, low energy, and blessed with health. All of these were made when I entered droknar's forge and I didn't make forward progress until they were created. I had the exact weapons I wanted. I saved a +8 armor vs Slashing shield, +8 armor vs Piercing shield, and a +10 armor vs Undead shield. Varying different weapons for high energy set and high health set, as well as different head pieces. I did Ironmines twice to infuse both the high energy armor and high health armor because I didn't want to be an idiot and switch and forget one wasn't infused and die that way. Anyways, that's my adventure. I hope you enjoy the VODs. None of them have any sound, since I don't play with sound and if someone wants to watch them with music, I think it makes more sense for them to watch it with their music taste, not mine. As always, if you're interested in GW challenges, especially solo, there's a discord where we chill: https://discord.gg/pNdCCXKu . Anyone is welcome. There's also a solo wiki that's been growing: http://gwsolo.wikidot.com/ Cheers, Serial [link] [comments] |
