    Hello Reddit!

    It's been a while. I have been very busy working on the website and now I want to share here the Wintersday Festival guide for all the new and returning players that might need help with achievements and activities.

    (Specifically for the ones who ask me about the jumping puzzle lol)

    There's not much new for us veteran players, just a few skins and the weekly achievement.

    Besides this I wanted to share some updates on how my website is doing, I'm working very hard full time to create guides, videos and content for every aspect of the game.

    Recently I started to do gemstore and datamining posts (ty that_shaman for allowing me to do it) so if interested in that keep an eye on it. Some examples:

    I'm currently working on Raid guides (I will announce when they are finished), more legendary gear guides and a lot more!

    Of course the website is now one of the best and most popular sources for PvP and WvW builds as well!

    And a lot more! I want to say thanks to everybody who supports me and I will continue doing my best to keep helping the community!

    Is the new Abyss Stalker weapon set missing it's specular map? The metal is very flat and non-reflective in comparison to the already existing Abyss Stalker outfit.

    Hello everybody,

    Happy Lunar New Year Wintersday! Now first things first:

    • This will be the very last patch before End of Dragons releases (bug fixes aside)
      • Lunar New Year is already included in this patch.
      • The gemstore is filled with new items until March.
      • They have also filled the returning gemstore schedule up until June.
    • It's expected to release somewhere two months from now.
    • Because the gemstore schedule of the previous patches already gave me a headache (and this one would be impossible to do in the old format) I've built a new page that will automatically show the latest information available. It's still a work in progress but the best I could do on very short notice to further automate things.

    This is my first Wintersday and it doesn't seem as if the events are as obvious as the Halloween events. If you have insights into daily events or fun things to do or even profitable things to do, could you please list your favorite things to do in this festival?

    Basically the title, what is your favourite class/ spec that you play and why :D I always like to play different classes and wondered what others felt the most excitement in. For me personally it's elementalist/weaver but most recently tempest is a lot of fun for me since it is quite different than weaver imo

    Best items to get during Wintersday?

    This will be my first time participating in the Wintersday event, and was wondering if there were any items (whether it be fashion or nice QoL items) that I should be trying to get while the event is active. During Halloween, I farmed all the mad memories achievements to get all the backpacks which I had a lot of fun doing. Is there anything like that for this event?

    Did ArenaNet abandon Fractals?

    Hi, new player here.

    It seems that Fractals are basically GW2's main instanced PvE content (like WoW/FFXIV dungeons), but I wonder why (according to the wiki) ArenaNet only release about 1 Fractal per year? Also it seems that Raids are abandoned in favour of Strikes (which seem like FFXIV Trials).

    Why do ArenaNet develop a form of content and then stop to make something entirely different? I think it's confusing that there are so many PvE game modes, but each game mode only has a few instances available.

    If you are a player at endgame, doesn't it get very repetitive to run the same few Fractals every day? At least in FFXIV, you have a myriad of dungeons available with the roulette system.

    For me, instanced PvE is something I want to do daily in MMOs. While I enjoy levelling and getting 100% zone completion, I am afraid that I will quit once I reach level 80 because there is not enough instanced PvE content for me. Any thoughts from more experienced players?

    Edit: I didn't expect this to blow up, apparently a lot of players are not satisfied with the content release schedule. I don't know what to make of this as a new player looking for a new main MMO. I will just enjoy what there is until I run out of content and then we'll see, maybe I will write an angry reddit thread.

    Hey guys,

    A friends of mine has recently (finally) picked up gw2 and as Wintersday is my favourite holiday, I wanted to show them around. However, when we came to Winter Wonderland, our Party got Split up and eventhough I tried the "join in PvP"- Button, we did not end up on the same map :/

    As I never played this in a group before: Am I a bit of a dumb-dumb and overlooked something obviously simple? Or can you just not get on a map with ppl in a Party?

    My Account got completely obliterated from the newest patch. Anyone else too?

    Hey everyone, does anyone else have these problems after the new patch? My account got completely fucked after the wintersday patch. These are the things I just discovered, there may be more

    • I can't join any pvp match on any character (buttons do nothing)
    • I got kicked out of every guild I was in
    • I can't join any group for fractals or high level content anymore (it says my characters are not level 80 lol)

    What just happened to my account?

    Soloing Freezie

    Hi, just wondering if anyone has tried soloing Freezie? I think it would be theoretically possible with scourge (one shade on Freezie and one shade on the minion buffing him, so you can kill the minion while simultaneously damaging him. Then just circle to avoid the snowball and tank his shotgun attacks with barrier).

    I have a scourge build but I suck and I can't pull it off, mostly because I keep having to stare at the skillbar to watch for cooldowns and am horrible at multitasking, so eventually I get run over by the snowball.

    Has anyone done it and if not do you think it's possible or have any suggestions? For now I only have a necro so it has to be scourge or reaper haha
