With the Jade Sea being the next map they will show us, don't expect it to be anything like in GW1

    Posted: 13 Nov 2021 12:04 AM PST

The Jade Sea map will be revealed to us next Friday and it's probably the map i'm most excited about. I have seen lot's of people disappointed with how much Echovald has changed, and i think the Jade Sea map will take that to another level. With the jade tech being a huge thing now, i wouldn't expect the Jade Sea to be nothing more than a huge multi level mining zone and not so much a sea where you can run on top of frozen waves like in GW1. It already had many mines in GW1 and add a few centuries to that with the need for all the jade for the jade tech and what we have is a Jade Sea sized crater. Personally i'm very happy with everything we have seen so far and can't wait till Friday to see how the Jade Sea has changed after all this time! :)

What do you all do with this leftover Halloween stuff?

I bet it was really epic... :(

[Skrittpost] We've seen good suggestions for the game. What are your TERRIBLE suggestions?

    Posted: 12 Nov 2021 05:25 PM PST

Just for Skritts and giggles. Apologies for any grammatical errors:

    - Mounts can die. If your mount dies you'll have to buy a new one for 250 Mystic Coins.

    - Mounts need to be fed to restore their stamina.

    - Armour can get destroyed. You'll have to buy/craft new armour to replace completely broken ones.

    - Breath meter for underwater content if you're not wearing an underwater mask.

    - An actual ammo counter for bows and guns. As for throwable weapons like axes, you have to collect it to reuse the skill.

    - Your hitbox and default movement speed depends on your race and the number of items in your inventory. Each item decreases your movement speed by 1%.

    - Friendly fire. Try not to hit your friends with your AOEs.

    - You need to be standing next to a BLTC agent to sell on the TP.

    - Thieves can steal from players. Rangers can steal pets from other rangers.

    - You can only get Mystic Coins from the Gem Store.

There have been 12 new music tracks fully revealed so far, which one is your personal favorite? :)

    Posted: 13 Nov 2021 03:35 AM PST

Here is a playlist of every EoD music so far to help you choose your favorite or perhaps favorites :)

First and last are the tracks very similar to one another, but one of them is live version. Both of those tracks are my personal favorites, because I love this relaxing melody and instruments. It reminds me about the music from the Icebrood Saga "Spirits of the Wild" and "Spirits of the Wild Redux" - I've always loved the relaxing/emotional music the most in any game I've played, so that's why I adore what I suppose is Shing Jea's theme :)

Second track is my personal favorite among the more dynamic/combat music - it plays during Bladesworn's trailer and also Shing Jea trailer - so possibly this combat track is related to the night aspect of the map - when ghosts are being attacked by the enemies.

Third track is Harbinger's theme, it has the nice synth element to it and reminds about Heart of Thorns' battle music.

Fourth track is Willbender's theme, and I really like it because the zither reminds me about Siren's Reef music. but I also like the militarian element to it, which fits the lore of Willbender as the defenders of the Empress Yin :)

Fifth track is Mechanist's theme and also plays for Echovald Wilds's trailer - I really like it, I feel like it should play when we find ourselves between two fighting gangs of Echovald. As always amazing flute melody. :)

Sixth track I called "Waters of Cantha", because I believe it's the theme of End of Dragons, and also I think it contains Deep Sea Dragon's motives. It seems to be the most popular track of this expansion, so it shows that this track is the best candidate for the expansion's theme, and very rightfully so. :) (Hopefully my gut feeling is right, and it's composed by Lena Raine)

Seventh track I called Sunqua Vale, because of the similar melodies like in Sunqua Peak fractal - I also really like this track. I love the flute so much in the whole soundtrack!!

Eighth track I and others in the comment section noticed that it resembles "Age of the Dragon" from Factions, that's why I called it that way :) Guzheng sounds so gorgeous!

Ninth track I called "Petrified Forest", but I think it captures the aftermath of the Jade Wind, that echo across Cantha, and I think it's the Echovald Wilds' map theme, because it has that echo quaility to it. But it may be capturing the depths of the Jade Sea due the synth. :D

Tenth track is probably related to Echovald (also having this echo quality to it), as some people noticed in the comment section too, maybe Arborstone's theme? :D It sounds gorgeous! Even Bryan Atkinson (the composer for GW2) rightfully compliment how amazing this track sounds. :)

Eleventh track is called "Kurzick", because it sounds similar to Kurzick's theme from Factions, as many people pointed out in the comment section. :) So another Echovald related track :D

There are still a lot of tracks to be revealed - 5 other specializations' themes and main music from the maps, but there will be much, much more music to be revealed in the coming months and as always I will upload them as soon as they are made public! :)

Note: most of the tracks are not recorded live, so the final versions will certainly sound much different, like Shing Jea's theme :)

Hopefully this post gets upvoted, so maybe I will create a similar post once more music is revealed, so we can talk about the music more often :)

    Music nerds signs off :)

Well that's a new one on me. Eight years, and I've never seen this before.

Replaying Fire and Steel made me wonder regarding Ryland.

    Posted: 13 Nov 2021 12:31 AM PST

Had this feeling way before when the later chapters of IBS came out but now after replaying an old chapter, this made me notice me even more. Anyone else felt there's a sudden rewrite to his character? He wasn't this weird Star Wars evil character reject with daddy issues. Some said the death of his warband pushed him to the edge but I feel like that's an exaggeration. It's like he went a 180.

Has there been any mention of why we would possibly want to use a Skiff over a Skimmer?

    Posted: 13 Nov 2021 07:49 AM PST

The only benefit I've seen is that the skiff holds other people (and I think you can fight on them?. They look slower, they can't go out of the water, they're bigger than skimmers and can't go into tight spaces. Why the hell would I bother?
