    Seriously? Why isn't there a consistent way to farm mystic coins in game? Only way to reliably farm is having multiple accounts for login rewords or am I missing something?

    Do you guys enjoy playing Shields?

    I adore Guild Wars 2's diversity in builds, from professions to specializations, to elite specializations, to weapons. However, one thing that I have been unable to enjoy is how Shields play. Now I don't just ALWAYS go full dps, I can enjoy some support/buff oriented gameplay every now and then, but playing shields has been a consistently underwhelming experience, even as a Chronomancer or Herald.

    Now I understand you don't HAVE to play them just because the Elite Specs make you able to, but when most of the Elite weapon sets are so satisfyingly designed, it feels bad for the shield ones to just be "block attacks and grant allies protection" - granted, Chrono does have Tides of Time which is in my opinion probably the most interesting shield skill there is.

    I won't really touch on Core Build shields, but I will say that they also fall into the same issue of feeling much too passive in a game where combat is so quick and mobile. Core Engineer > Guardian or Warrior shield (again, this is my opinion), but even so it never really feels like a compelling option over dual wielding a different weapon to me. This also branches to the fact that there are no new Elite Specializations in End of Dragons that add Shields to a prof - maybe it's because anet can't find a satisfying or fun way to implement them into another profession?

    Anyways, the main point of this post was just to see what you guys think of shields - do you enjoy playing them yourselves? Have a different critique of them? Personally I'd love some kind of rework or even flat-out change that could maybe push shields into a more viable position in 80+ content, as I do like them thematically (and there are some killer shield skins). This isn't a post trying to call shields garbage, or insult those who like them, just me putting my thoughts out and wanting to hear from the community. Cheers.

    Sacrificing herself made no sense.

    She sacrificed herself because she needed to place a beacon for the tanks to fire at, it was supposed to count down while her team got to a safe distance. But the timer was broken. So she needed to place the beacon, activate it and the tanks would start firing, not knowing she didn't make it to a safe distance.

    But she was a Mesmer.

    What are mesmers known for other than clones? Portals. Did it never cross her mind to make a portal, activate the beacon then use the portal to escape?

    First time GW2 player long time mmo player

    Ill try to make it short and sweet. Honestly 13 years of wow. 500 hrs of new world. Little tera and whatever. I have never been more confused until playing this game. Combat i understand pretty well so far. Buddy and i are doing the free version at first so we figure it all out on our own first. Currently lvl 30 and my inventory is just full of weapons and armor i cant slavage or sell? Do I just delete snd move on? Getting random high lvl crafting materials at lvl 20. Honestly the inventory is probably my least favorite part. Not sure what im asking for but if someone could just dumb this whole game down for me that'd be fantastic

    A Moment to Rest

    Despite her best effort, Emilie cannot keep up with the elementalist who flanked her from behind. The ammunition is all but spent, save for the last one in the chamber, yet the attacker remains defiant as she prepares herself to cast another spell towards Emilie.

    Bruised and broken, Emilie is unable to keep herself focused on her target, and her knees begin to weaken. The Elementalist takes notice of her condition and pauses. Fireball still in her hands, she looks down to contemplate her decision, before looking up to see the young girl, still struggling to make a stand. Briefly after, the elementalist sighs softly to herself, and casts the fiery blast onto her, knocking the young girl down to the ground, marking an end to their battle.

    Standing strong as she may, it is no victory for a master of elements to fight against a commoner, and she knows it. Out of pity, she quietly walks away, leaving Emilie to her own fate.

    The sun begins to set, and Emilie lies defeated on the grass. As the darkness blinds her vision, and a silence deafens her ears, she feels an odd sense of comfort, a comfort of not having to worry about what lies within her responsibilities. There is no anxiety in her mind or a sense of panic. There is nothing for her to sense, yet in the sea of darkness does she feel calmer than ever. She finally has found a moment where nothing bothers her mind. She has found peace.

    Alas, one can only rest for so long, and she hears a familiar voice calling out for her name in concern. She knows the burden and responsibility that awaits her, and as tempting it may be, she will not rest.

    Not yet.
