    Specter:

"By utilizing their Shadow Shroud, the specter harnesses the power of shadow magic to debilitate their enemies and preserve the health of their allies. By diving straight into the shadows, they've learned to control them. With this new specialization, the thief sacrifices a portion of their initiative pool and gains a new resource called Shadow Force. Siphon replaces Steal, instead granting you the ability to inflict conditions on your foes while generating Shadow Force. Wielding a scepter, the specter hurls bolts of tormenting shadow magic at enemies. The weapon set includes new dual attacks based on your available off-hand weapons, and it delivers potent ranged condition damage to enemies that cross its path. The specter utilizes wells, a mobile method of delivering supportive and offensive playstyles around the battlefield. Each well skill will shadowstep you to your targeted location and then lay the well at your feet, allowing you to harry foes with offensive effects or bolster allies."

    Untamed:

"The untamed and their pet juggle control of a raw, primal power to defeat their foes. Their pet weakens their prey before the untamed reclaims that vicious, raw power and delivers the final strike. The untamed is a melee brawler with the ability to shift from an aggressive damage dealer to a defensive bruiser. This transition is enabled by their Unleash ability, which passes a powerful nature magic between the untamed and their pet. Pets in this unleashed state gain access to new abilities that disrupt and debilitate nearby enemies. Additionally, the untamed's bond with their pets grants them more direct control over the default abilities of each pet, ensuring that they'll always be ready to strike when the time is right. The hammer wielded by the untamed is also affected by their Unleashed state, allowing for an adaptable playstyle depending on the situation. For their utility skills, the untamed gains access to the cantrip skill type. These cantrips create various defensive and crowd-control effects, giving the untamed the tools they need to thrive in melee combat."

    Mechanist:

"Choose your mech's traits and use it to crush your enemies—together, you're unstoppable. Mech Commands are selected by the player's trait choices—in effect, the specialization traits you choose customize your mech's loadout for combat. The mechanist can specialize in various combat roles. They gain access to the mace as a new main-hand weapon, which can be used to apply barriers to allies, synergizing strongly with specific traits in the specialization. Signet utility skills allow them to give further bonuses to themselves and the mech. These signets can have a variety of impacts, such as commanding your mech to emit a large protective force field for allies to shelter inside, creating an electric field around it to confuse enemies, or commanding your mech to unleash its ultimate weapon, the Jade Buster Cannon."

    Pretty dope :D

[CnD] & [LI] | Duo Cardinal Adina - Raid Boss

    Tuturuu!

    PoVs:

    [CnD] Misterred: https://youtu.be/TwpiY4N232U
    [LI] Aphrodite Lady: https://youtu.be/WNIwYRxUKP8

In our quest to ever push our limits in raids we decided to tackle Cardinal Adina.

    We faced some challenges:

    1. The fight starts with 5 pillars behind which a squad of 10 players can seek cover. As each pillar buffs Adina we not only had to merge new pillars with the existing ones, but also tank her in their direction in order to destroy them.
    2. Another challenge was getting rid of the boons on Adina. To that end we opted for using Nulification sigils as well as scourge skills to strip them.
    3. Furthermore staying alive was quite the challenge! we adapted our builds to provide sufficient sustain, defensive boons by using durability runes ( Protection, Regen) on the HFB and Tormenting Runes (Heal ) on the scourge. Lastly, -10% from ascended food provided additional help. When Adina became enraged we swapped tank due to Scourge sustaining better.
    4. The biggest challenge was surviving the split phases with 4 hands. 2 of the 4 hands constantly apply Eroding Curse (increases damage taken by 15%, stacks with intensity). We used the scourge to take out those hands first while standing at the ones that throw projectiles. Once one set of hands was destroyed we used Adina to body-block projectiles while we destroyed the remaining hands.
    5. In the final phase the scourge focussed on the hands that spawn at 20% and 10% to avoid getting too many stacks of Eroding Curse (debuff). Pillars were placed near the hands in order to provide cover from Adina's attack. That time window was used to destroy the hands.

This was a compelling project! We are looking forward to re-invent common strategies to revive existing content! We hope you enjoy the PoVs!!

Untamed french video leaks Engineer spec "Mechamancer"

The French title for the Untamed elite spec mistakenly leaks the Engineer spec.

    Méchamancien would mean Mechamancer.

    The short description says

"Mechamancers make friends like no one ! In battle, they lead the dance along their loyal Jade Combat Mech."

Question about those "85% rep requirement" guilds

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 01:28 PM PDT

How do they calculate that? If you joined and were only repping 82.7% of the time how would they know? Do they have a guy that sits online all day to make sure you aren't repping somebody else? In a game that allows up to 5 guilds per account, isn't it a bit selfish to expect your guild members to rep one guild over any of the others?

It's 2021. Requiring any form of "rep" went out when HoT came out. Please for the love of Mordremoth, update your guild recruitment practices guys.

    Rename Specter to Spectre

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 10:12 AM PDT

The English spelling is cooler looking than the American one and its still the preferred spelling according to this: https://grammarist.com/spelling/specter-spectre/

Did they just follow up the book club joke in Thunderhead Peaks?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 04:36 PM PDT

I never noticed this in Grothmar Valley until now but there's a trio of charr talking about Charr Rise of Rin and one of them scolds the other because he keeps joining them despite not reading any of the books.

They really did make a book club. I shed a tear.

Jade tech is cool for engineers, why isn't it cool for elementalists?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 07:22 AM PDT

Why can't the spheres be Catalyst's companions? The models are great, but they are just standing with an idle animation doing nothing, except their areas sharing some boons.

While the jade mech/Mechanist receieves 3 different trait lines, looks awesome and actually does satisfying things, though also appears to be quite static, but cool animations take eyes off of it being slower.

I feel bittersweet after seeing the Mechanist showcase.

    Just a mild rant. :D

Is alt characters stacking in instances considered botting?

    Posted: 21 Oct 2021 02:45 AM PDT

You know I'm talking about those people piling up their alt account's characters in instances like Dragonstorm or Twisted Marionnette just to have them doing nothing in order to get the reward at the end.

I have reported some of them but since they always come back I'm wondering if Anet allows this or just doesn't give a damn.
