    Help Team Prophecy Beat HM!

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 04:24 AM PDT

I've been working on beating the game and get GWAMM on my Hardcore (no deaths) Warrior. Other than not dying, I'm only allowed to use a specific group of mercenaries. It's gone fine so far completing missions and quests on NM, but I'm a bit worried that HM won't be as simple. This is why I'm asking for help in preparing (builds) my mercenary team for HM and end-game!

The mercenaries are not allowed to have a secondary profession, so only skills from the primary profession are allowed!

    Main character: Warrior

    The Mercenaries: (8/8) 1. Monk 2. Monk 3. Necromancer 4. Elementalist 5. Elementalist 6. Warrior 7. Ranger 8. Ranger

What builds would you use for HM? Bonus points if you make the elementalists earth or water and don't turn the necromancer into MM. I made these mercenaries for RP reasons, and I did not pick a mesmer on purpose.

TLDR: Create builds for my mercenaries for HM and end-game!

    DSOAL-GW1 Updated

    Posted: 26 Jun 2021 06:17 AM PDT

(If you have no idea what I'm talking about, read this post.)

Since many people didn't care for how abruptly sounds diminished with distance, I've updated DSOAL-GW1 to add a fudge factor to make sounds carry farther. (While this departs from the authentic "GW with 3D audio + EAX as originally intended" experience, it's definitely an improvement.) If you don't like the default, the fudge factor is configurable via an environment variable.

Download link for latest version: DSOAL-GW1 r420+gw1_rev1

Install instructions and more details in the original thread.

    Speed running community?

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 06:39 PM PDT

Is there any commuties out there actively running for wars 1? The only content I see now a days regarding guild wars is guild wars 2. Seeing as there isn't much content to go over anymore I think it would be interesting to watch someone play this game while speed running from character creation to lich/shiro/abbandon I would know what rules they world have but a general idea of a rule set could be:

    -No mercenary heros

-No heros EXCEPT required ones (I.E. dunkoro in consulate docks) Or -Only up to three heros in a party

    -No X-chest

    -No partying with other players

-No going to other campaigns (unless the goal is to complete all 3 campaigns?)

-All Kurzick/Luxon Faction must be spent/used up before hand

    -No event items

It's probably a long shot, but hey, I would be interested.

Guild Wars Complete Collection - can't redeem code

    Posted: 25 Jun 2021 01:36 PM PDT

    Dear all,

I'm trying to redeem a code for the Guild Wars Complete Collection which I purchased from the Guild Wars website, but I keep getting problems. I don't own Guild Wars 2 but have an ArenaNet account (I previously downloaded the free Guild Wars 2 client to try). Attempting to redeem the code through my account on the ArenaNet site gives me the error "Serial code was not recognised by our system". Trying to log-in with my ArenaNet account in the Guild Wars application gives me the error "E-mail address was not found (code 244)". If I select create new account in the Guild Wars application and fill in my details, then I get the error "The password you have provided is incorrect (code 011)". I have even tried using a different e-mail address in the create new account form in the Guild Wars application, but I get the same error. I have reset my ArenaNet password to make sure that the password I used is correct - it is.

The only problem I can think of is that the region of the code that I purchase and my ArenaNet account differ. My ArenaNet account says my region is Europe. The Guild Wars website through which I purchased the Collection had prices in USD. Trying to access the site again I see I get products with prices in Euros although when I click "buy now" on the Complete Collection it takes me to a page entitled "Top sellers" which lists links for "Guild Wars Nightfall" and "Guild Wars: Eye of the North" only. Whether I get a webpage with prices in USD or Euros seems a bit finicky because I've gotten both on separate visits to the site - although possibly it depends on which link I used to get to the site.

I've written to ArenaNet support, but I'm not sure how long they take to respond.

Has anyone had similar problems and/or can recommend a solution?
