    7 Hero builds using rangers

    7 Hero builds using rangers

So messing with hero builds is one of my favourite things of this game and I found that ranger heroes can work with Heroic refrain (optional skill in first bar).

    https://preview.redd.it/ix729tvoqi571.png?width=639&format=png&auto=webp&s=927beaa08bea56d5b837842fc843270743896a33

So this is the traditional mesmer midline with one addition which is a ranger. Main change appart from that is the usage of hex eater signet, which I found is a great AOE anti-hex that returns energy and helps those pesky anti-physical and specially vocal minority.

The fall backs are obvious for mobility, and the anthem of flame is just an "i'm too lazy to refresh heroic refrain myself" button for heroes. Between those two shouts heroes keep 90% of the time HR and save you a lot of work.

    But I went further:

I added favourable winds and winnowing and put panic mesmer to shut-down entire groups with one hero. Also Xandra using brutal weapon adds some damage and saves you from using an orders hero. Most of time there are 3 characters with brutal and one spot left for splinter weapon, so they dont conflict most of the time.

So I tested this in DoA foundry, and managed to get past first three rooms in HM with both builds, and surprisingly even the AoE damage was good. Let me explain:

For some reason, at 19 expertise, 10 energy skills only cost 2 energy, Fortunately, hero AI spams Sundering Attack and Penetrating attack really well with infinite energy, and at high expertise, Glass arrows last more than 40s and adds 24 damage, and heroes also keep this preparation all time.

Only big downside is you need two superior runes for marksmanship and expertise, but given rangers high AL it compensates this.

Also the ranger heroes do not have permanent increased attack speed, but all bow skills have only a cast time of 3/4s or 1/2s (expect sloth hunter shot) which bypass bow attack speed. Lightning reflexes helps a bit here.

I also must say that the BiP necro gets way less pressure doing the battery role, with full mesmers sometimes it gets its health so low it dies in any sudden spike. This happens less often with less mesmers.

But there is something else. At 20 channeling magic splinter weapon is busted and lasts 6 attacks and deals 65 damage. That is 390 damage in one skill, and I swear the AoE is suprisingly good and this build can compare with mesmer midline in raw damage terms (less AoE but far superior single-target). Try it if you don't believe.

So If sometimes you get bored of the typical meta build, here you can give a try to something fun that surprisingly works.

Gold Q9 Daggers that are not max damage?

    Posted: 16 Jun 2021 03:37 AM PDT

How is this even a thing? Just packed my first ever Q9 Storm Daggers and was excited af 🤑 untill I realised the damage was 7-16. This is not the first time ive noticed this with daggers as the same happened with a pair of Oni daggers that dropped.

    Any insight would be appreciated

Could this be the best N/A build for jade quarry?

Am I missing something in Heart of the Shiverpeaks Level 2? No Budger Blackpowder.

Trying to do Zaishen Daily. Budger is supposed to spawn near destructible doors to give you kegs when doing the non-quest version. Works in level 1, get into level two, clear the skelks, and stuck. Though it was bugged the first time, then got the same thing after clearing through half the dungeon twice, and getting frustrated. Wiki says there's no quest needed, wtf am I supposed to be doing differently?
