    Why do I nearly always load into a map that's closing?

    It's probably minor but it annoys me. Haven't even done 5 steps and the map is closing and it's asking me to volunteer to go to another map. Why are maps always closing for me? Why can't we stay on a map until it nearly closes and THEN asks me to volunteer? Or even better, put me in a map that isn't closing?

    Uninteractive gameplay is never fun.

    They pewpew, you use a gap closer, they stealth for an eternity. Then they reappear, pewpew again, rince and repeat. And if you succeed at catching them, and you manage to deal a lot of damage very quickly - it doesn't matter, they'll stealth away with 20% HP, wait for team mates, and they'll kill you from 40 yards away like cowards while you're fighting the other guy.

    I fucking hate this bullshit. New anti-stealth perks need to exist. Whether it's stealth detection, stealth removal, or perks like "the target can't use stealth for X seconds after being hit" - anything will do as long as some form of counterplay is added to deal with this bullshit. A flair for Rangers, anti-stealth goggles for engineers - whatever.

    F*ck Deadeye.

    As the days go by I'm hearing strange rumors about what the new expansion will implement in the game. What have you heard that is strange but plausible about the new expansion?

    I'll write here a collection of the ones I've heard:

    • open world pvp in the new expansion maps

    • guild vs guild spvp mode with leaderboard and lobby

    • boats as a movement system

    • climbing system with the stamina style Zelda BoTW

    • jeweler at 500 with aesthetic auras craftable, colorable and some legendary with footprints and trails

    • A housing system integrated into the game with a rest system

    • A medal and leaderboard system for all events that adds competition to do better and better

    I've started an elementalist and it's been a lot of fun!

    I've played GW2 on and off pretty much since 2012.

    Always was a casual player (got to level 80 only in 2020), and I admire the game for letting me not feel completely outdated if I log in after say a year of inactivity.

    I have level 80 chrono (I like him, but I'm not sure it clicks for me - I always feel like I under-utilize all the quirks of this class) and revenant (both herald and renegade are fun and strong open-world builds).

    Recently I started a new Elementalist and it's been a blast! I always thought I'd suck at 'hard' class as ele and I've heard that leveling as ele can be cumbersome, however I got to level 62 and as dagged/dagger and scepter/focus it's super fun. Yes it's challenging sometimes and I have to plan more difficult fights. And there are a lot of buttons (it turned out I actually like it!). But also super rewarding - feeling like an ustoppable force of nature, bending elements to my will, with so many skills to utilize.

    So I encourage anyone who wanted to try elementalist but is afraid of its 'current state' - just do it. Meta always changes, and at the worst you will find out that you don't like ele - so no big deal.

    P.S I hope I won't find that at level 80 skill cap rises dramatically and I do suck. :P

    Is it worth to get Path of Fire in 2021?

    So I recently got back into playing the game, the thing is I do have Heart of thorns but not path of fire and I am wondering if it is worth to get path of fire, because I saw that the next expansion is due this year? so what should I do?

    I bought myself the $35 dollars in gems this morning, got my 2800 gems, and later looked at my card to see that my $37.45 purchase had been posted, a grand total of TEN times. One of which looks like it's been refunded, but that leaves 8x$37.45 I didn't buy suddenly out of my account.

    I submitted a ticket, but god knows how long it will take to get a response and I can't exactly wait days on this. Do I call the bank? Wouldn't stopping the wrong payment cause them to ban my account? What on earth do I do here? Need opinions.

    Also, maybe watch out if you plan to purchase gems right now.
