Hardstuck [Hs] Super Adventure Fashion Contest!

    Posted: 24 Apr 2021 08:00 AM PDT

THE 80s/90s CALLED, THEY WANT YOUR OUTFITS BACK! – JOIN HARDSTUCK FOR SOME SERIOUS RETRO-GAMING

TL;DR Tune in to MightyTeapot's stream tomorrow, Sunday the 25th of April at 17:00 GMT/18:00 CET to join for some funky, 80s and 90s-inspired shenanigans!

Three categories – RETRO Gamers, RETRO Roleplayers and RETRO Memers –, three winners for each and one honourable mention outside of any category, as part of the People's Choice.

Viewers get to vote for their favourite look in each category, plus one contestant that will catch their attention! There will be a total of ten winners across all categories, for both EU and NA. The absolute snazziest will be showered with gold and Mystic Coins! Read below for more details.

Lads and lasses, we're assembling the runway once more for our upcoming fashion event! This time, we're bringing a taste of funky vintage to the show! Time to tickle your creativity and come celebrate yet another edition of Super Adventure Box in grand style, here with us at Hardstuck [Hs]! Here is how the event will unfold:

    There will be three categories:

    • RETRO Gamers: buckle up, because we're going on a trip into the past! Give us your best 80s and 90s vibes, as we reminisce these iconic decades together with vibrant and bold looks!
    • RETRO Roleplayers: we are no elitists, everyone is welcome (and that includes weebs!), this time with a slight twist, however: we will be expecting everyone to stick to the theme, possibly with references to beloved series and videogames from the two decades.
    • RETRO Memers: there were always some mischievous contestants in our previous editions that surprised us with their takes on Internet memes, so why not get all silly this time and dedicate an entire category to a little bit of dankness? This is Hardstuck after all...

    The rules are quite simple:

    • Only one entry allowed: choose a category you want to represent and state it when your turn comes up. This will help the showrunners list all the entries under their correct category and ensure votes will be assigned following fair criteria.

    • No outfits allowed: no point in cheesing it, plus we don't like slackers! Tonic, miniatures and mounts are allowed to spice your entrance - have a think about creative ways you can enter the judging area, as well as any roleplay speeches or skills you want to use.

    You may want to:

    • Tell us where your look is inspired from when it's your turn!

Go crazy and don't be afraid to think INSIDE the box, as Moto says! You want to dress to impress! The event will take place on Sunday the 25th of April, 17:00 GMT/18:00 CET. First in line will be EU, then we will move on to our NA friends (there is no specific time, this will be after we are done on EU). The duration of the event might change depending on the number of participants, although we are expecting about two-to-three hours for each server.

To participate, tune in to the stream on Twitch, or simply show up and get in line, notifications will also be posted on our Discord server. You will also find us advertising a squad in the LFG panel (check the Central Tyria - Squads category). We will be in Rata Sum! Don't be late though: the queue will be locked after a certain point and you might not be able to secure yourself a spot to impress us with your dashing look!

Voting will be held directly after the conclusion of each individual part of the event. Viewers will be able to pick one favourite look for each of the categories and, as a bonus, they will all get an additional vote to reward a fourth look, regardless of category. Therefore, there will be a total of ten winners on both EU and NA for a grand total of 20!

Thanks to our glorious, fashion-conscious community, we have a bountiful prize pool, which will be divided among each category as follows:

    Award Prize
    1st PLACE: 165 gold + 250 Mystic Coins
    2nd PLACE: 100 gold + 150 Mystic Coins
    3rd PLACE: 65 gold + 100 Mystic Coins
    PEOPLE'S CHOICE: 750 Globs of Ectoplasm + 100 gold

Watch the event live at twitch.tv/mightyteapot

We can't wait to see you there! Until then, have fun and happy outfit-crafting!

feature suggestion: let us use different trangsmogs and colors on the same legendary equip in multiple equip tabs

    Posted: 24 Apr 2021 02:28 AM PDT

Dunno if there is a way of doing this i dont see, but it bothers me that i have to go for same style on all equip tabs. Allthough you can use different infusions thats not enough for a completly different look.

    Bots/hackers in dragon's stand

    Posted: 23 Apr 2021 11:10 PM PDT

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkwSTG_DmCI

Friend of mine noticed these when getting ranger pets. Decided to record a vid.

They seem to be bots using teleport hacks to do map completion in Dragon's Stand. They create a character, skip the starter instance, go through Rata Sum, metrica, brisban, silverwastes, VB, AB, TD and end up in Dragon's Stand.

Dragon's stand is I think the only map that doesn't require combat and still gives a Black Lion Key to non-level 80 characters.

    Some stats:

Around 2:40-3:00 per round, 30% chance of receiving a BLKey, 70% chance for a transmutation charge. Guaranteed 1 exotic, 30 barbed thorns and a gift of the jungle.

Let's say 20 runs per hour, that's 6 keys and 14 transmutation charges, 20 exotics and 600 barbed thorns. 6 keys at cheapest non-discounted price is 504 gems(2100/25), at time of writing valued at 162g. 14 charges is 336 gems(600/25) or 108.3g. The exotics probably average out to be 60s each, so that's another 12g. I assume the Barbed thorns just get discarded, since they're only worth 13c each.

This is a value of about 282g per hour, per account. It's not just throwaway accounts either, one of the offline ones shown in the video has 39k+ achievement points.

The lvl 80 requirement for Black Lion Keys should probably be added to Expansion maps as well @anet, and maybe obvious botting/hacking should be automatically banned again. I know it's probably hard to detect bots and distinguish them from real players, but this, /u/fullnatybrah 's silverwastes bots and the hordes of bots in pvp and wvw should not be allowed to operate for any amount of time.

EDIT: I know the gemstore items(keys and charges) aren't really valued at this exact price since they have other sources, but gemstore cost is much easier to calculate.

    Updated guild emblem editor?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2021 08:29 AM PDT

My guild wants to do a contest designing a guild emblem and I found this website:

But it is missing a lot of icons, more than 50. You can compare them checking them in the wiki:

The last ones in the wiki page aren't in the guild emblem editor.
So... anyone knows of an updated version?

    Older Sylvari armour

    Posted: 24 Apr 2021 07:57 AM PDT

    Older Sylvari armour

So, I was randomly googling on older GW2 stuff and I revisited 4 pair of older Sylvari armour parts before they had their make-over at the launch.

I really think this should really be considered to be released for Sylvari characters! It's already in-game and ready to go, so why not?!

Caithe's old model and her armor.

3 other light armour for Sylvari. You can still see some Sylvari NPCs ingame wearing these perfectly fine. Mistlock Sanctuary, for an example is three Sylvari NPCs having these armours near the banker.

    Felix (Chrono):

    Rece (Berserker): https://youtu.be/v9eizl9ct7Y

    Cody (Druid): https://youtu.be/w49KXjGEdZ8

    Boberton (Renegade):

    Unnatural Signet

    • Signet increases damage done to the boss by 200% and is normally applied by Saul every 60 seconds. In order to significantly beat the record, our number one priority is speeding this up. This is done through using alacrity wells and ventari to give Saul alacrity, thus decreasing the cooldown of his signet application.
    • Alacrity application prioritizes NPCs such as Saul last, so it was a requirement to pull Deimos as far away from Saul as possible while not pulling him out of his position. We also had to delay our initial phantasm casts, since they are also prioritized for alacrity over Saul.
    • The other way we sped up the signet was by giving Saul quickness at the start and having all 10 players stand in front of Saul. When Saul spawns, he will first slowly turn to a randomly selected player to place his banner on, then slowly turn to Deimos, then cast signet. We chose to pull the boss in front of Saul and stack on Deimos for the banner to minimize turning. The quickness further speeds up his banner cast, thus speeding up the first signet.

    Greens

    • We chose to handle greens by the selected chrono using Continuum Split to return to the main platform after being ported. This allows us to completely skip the Saul phases while still keeping all 10 players to damage Deimos.
    • RNG in which player is selected to be ported proved to be a major difficulty in these runs. Even when our druid and renegade could not be ported, we still had a big chance of resetting due to our berserker being selected, or the same chrono being selected twice.

    Oils

    • In order to move Deimos as little as possible, we baited the oils as far away as possible by standing at maximum melee distance.
    • The third oil was placed just as Deimos was casting Mind Crush, so we opted for our shield chrono to bait the oil closer to Deimos, allowing us to continue meleeing the boss from inside the ward.

    Ritual

    • Since we skipped each Saul phase, we had to deal with them all at once once we were ported down at 10%. Not only was there a lot of damage from the Sauls and tears, we also had players randomly ported by them.
    • We opted to split into two groups as we had in the pre-event, both to give quickness to the supports and to allow our renegade to give all 10 players protection before being ported down, which allowed us to survive until our druid was able to sustain us.
    • We used a Mass Invisibility to stealth all players but the renegade prior to Deimos becoming targetable, and only broke stealth once the oil was selected on the ren. This allowed us to stay in one spot for easier stability application and food swapping.

    Pre-Event

    • Speeding up the pre-event is a big time save, since the Deimos fight is mostly gated by the third signet regardless. We only needed 3 chronos with alac well to cover the remaining alacrity on Saul, so we opted for quickness wells on the other 4 chronos to cover quickness in the pre-event.
    • 2 chronos on a chain were very quick, so we chose to send the renegade north with the shield chrono and berserker to ensure comparable damage on each chain.
    • Capping vulnerability and applying slow to all chains was essential, so we opted to allocate one Delayed Reactions and one damage mantra per chain.

    TacO

    • During the grind we made use of TacO for markers. We used this since the in-game markers hover above the ground rather than on it, making it less accurate for well placements. We also found that the vertical light ray for markers would not appear right away after being ported up from the pre-event, making it even more difficult to use them.

Special thanks to Luxroy, Walrus and Pupsi for participating in the grind and contributing to strategies/testing Deimos' mechanics.

Are there faster gathering tools than unbound for logging+mining and consortium/molten for herbs?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2021 04:14 AM PDT

I read about firestom log and shifting sands mining being faster than unbound. Also focused solar logging and watchwork mining via animation cancelling, but I don't get how I can cancel the watchwork pick. Is this true and is there more or even better stuff? The usual guides are outdated.
