If you're gonna spoiler tag something, DONT SPOIL IT IN THE TITLE ANYWAY!!!

    Posted: 20 Mar 2021 01:52 AM PDT

Legit, i've tried to look up nothing in this, but for some reason it's showing in my normal feed. I would of loved the Braham/Primoridus thing, IF IT WASNT FUCKING SPOILED. Idc if it didn't happen, or its just heavily hinted. You are being a cunt, when you spoil things inthe title. It's not even a spoiler warning anymore, you're just spoiling.

[Logi] 3 Man Samarog Record. 22:35

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 11:54 PM PDT

What! A raid post without chronomancers in 2021? I can't believe it either.

    https://dps.report/JBor-20210319-200155_sam

During the Samarog 4 man record we noticed it was entirely possible to break the CC bar on Samarog with only two/three players contributing towards the defiance bar.

After testing three different comps, we came across a Samarog 3 man comp that you can run while sleeping at the split phase! Frankly nobody wanted to do the much faster aggressive comp that only ran 20 seconds of immo in a 2 minute split when we could just run infinity immo for fun.

Knowing that, because this was an incredibly stupid idea, we would need to tank the 2nd split phase in enrage we ran an IP DD that could heal itself, a trailblazer's druid for immo and a heal firebrand to sustain itself and the druid.

What followed was 22 and a half minutes of 350 ping clowning that we'll probably be telling to a therapist someday.

With the heal firebrand being responsible for every present boon but fury as the DD could provide its own and nobody cared enough about the trailblazers druid's dps to bring any for it. The Daredevil singlehandedly carried the CC while the Druid took fixation during enrage due to its much higher health pool when compared to Guardian. This allowed the fixate target to be healed which was nice because the aura ticks were 5K and Samarog's AA was 13.3K.

If you too need more things to tell your therapist, you may find the following POVs helpful.

    Daredevil: https://youtu.be/lFa8kNG0L1s

    Druid AA: https://youtu.be/DjNz7xIvFik

    Heal FB : https://youtu.be/QxPYL35FpOQ

The lesson in all of this? Just do it.

If you haven't started raiding yet, - grab some friends and do it.

If you are interested in playing in the raiding league but haven't joined a team yet, - do it.

Also if anybody can find Dan tell him to come back so we don't have to 3 man things anymore, thank you.

It's time Anet makes lasting change to combat hackers

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 03:41 PM PDT

It's a common refrain: "PvP is filled with hackers/bots!" And while in many games and many cases, it's just salty players making excuses for misplays, it is an unfortunate truth that in Guild Wars 2, they aren't merely exaggerating.

In WvW, Anvil Rock currently has a base Mesmer teleporting around a Sanctum of Rall controlled SMC as of a few minutes ago, teleporting in other AR players to the 3rd floor repeatedly. Myself and a few others have thwarted the attempts a dozen times now, but let's be honest: this is demoralizing. And I just logged out as a direct result of being unable to combat the hacking Mesmer.

I'm sure others have felt this pain. Unable to combat literal game-manipulating, teleporting hacks, you just lose the energy to continue. But what can we do? Honestly, reporting feels like it doesn't do anything at all. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, that isn't what I'm debating here.

I'm bringing up the long-echoed the wisdom of locking Free-to-Play accounts out of Ranked PvP and all WvW content except Edge of the Mists. Sorry Free-to-Players, but it's time. Anet is losing this fight against hackers, and the players, and game as a whole, suffer for it.

    • "Why not just block IPs instead of just accounts?" Well, VPNs exist, for starters.

    • "Why not just require a longer trial period to be allowed into Ranked PvP, or a higher level requirement before starting into WvW?" Well, that at once punishes people that have bought accounts and delays the inevitable.

    • "Dedicated hackers will find a way, some might buy another account. The solution isn't perfect!" No, it's not. No solution is perfect, but in this scenario, they're at least funding the game more than they otherwise would be, and have some skin in it to not hack. And this solution doesn't just push back their waiting period a little bit, only for them to resume again and again with a new FtP account.

Look, I know many FtP accounts aren't hacking or botting. But PvE has factors in place to keep from things like market manipulation that also restrict what FtP accounts may do. It's the way of the beast guys. And let's be real, the expansion prices are quite cheap compared to most MMOs on the market. But it's time. Hacking needs a solution, a lasting solution, and this limiter would be a world of change in competitive modes. Modes that have seen a drastic drop in playership and morale, not the least of which caused by hackers and bots.

How to use finishers in Raids Chapter 2: Cairn

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 03:14 PM PDT

    Hello fellow redditors,

We are proud to present you our latest speedkill on Cairn. The idea we used was the same as for SH. You can check it out here.

For Cairn, our initial idea was to completely replace the druid with a Deadeye that grants might using Fire for Effect. Sadly, this trait doesn't prioritise players nor respects subgroups, instead it seems to be completely proximity based, which resulted in phantasms and clones with might instead of the players. So we had to stick with a Druid and switched one cChrono with a Deadeye, who was responsible for smoke field uptime to trigger the duelling grandmaster trait Ineptitude from the whirl finishers.

    Log: https://dps.report/lGT2-20210318-213611_cairn

    (Log glitchless: https://dps.report/5BFl-20210318-214359\_cairn)

    Sub 1 Sub 2
    Druid (RedDiamond) Deadeye (lemmino)
cChrono (Angrax) cChrono (NSG) (Bonus Meme)
    cChrono (Felko) cChrono (Synetex)
    cChrono (Maeckle) cChrono (Neno)
    cChrono (goodlive)* cChrono (Svertin)

    \different kill)

The difficulty compared to SH was that we had to ensure that the phantasms use the smoke fields for the finishers and not the ethereal fields. Therefore we had to figure out the prioritisation, which is used for finishers from phantasms and players, because the general assumption, that always the "oldest" combo field gets used is not correct when you mix in Mesmers with phantasms.

Our results from some testing so far (does not mean everything has to be correct):

    • Each field has 5 slots, which can be claimed by players and illusions
    • Every claimed slot can be used for unlimited finishers
    • Player whirl finishers use the oldest field they are standing in
    • Phantasm whirl finishers use the newest field they start finishing in
    • We don't know which field is prioritised for projectile finishers (or is used for the first roll) but skills with a percentage based chance for a finisher seem to roll in every field with free slots, so skills with many projectiles use and claim a massive amount of fields
    • Player blasts seem to be random, however finishers performed at the same time by different players seem to be the same. So there seems to be a rule but we could not find it
    • Leap finishers from players use the oldest field
    • Leap finishers from phantasms use the newest field

For our cChronos we decided to keep playing with Torch, because we didn't have enough combo field slots for the duellists finishers. Also the blast from torch 4 is granting chaos aura which helps with protection uptime. We used Druid as the tank and main healer.

We hope you enjoy the kill as much as we do and see you around.

Special Thanks to Jenny.3791, Dr Ritu I.4073, Horus.9685, Kirby.7302 and Nanox.9160 for helping out during progress.

    GW2 on SD Card?

    Posted: 20 Mar 2021 05:38 AM PDT

Hey guys, a friend of mine would like to start with GW2 on her microsoft surface pro 6. thing is, the internal storage is very small, so the idea was to install the game on a SD-Card (with UHS-II). Does anyone have any experiences with playing games or even GW2 like that? Thanks for your answers! :)

    Boon support

    Posted: 19 Mar 2021 06:51 PM PDT

So I have been looking at traits and I have to ask.

Am I alone in wishing that more of the selfish ones would also effect nearby allies ?

    I mean stuff like https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dread https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Applied_Force

    Etc...

There are countless ones like these across multiple specs/classes Especially ones that could give quickness (alacrity as well if more did that)

If they would just spread that boon support around a bit more it would be great.

Don't get me wrong I play guard and rev as my mains but it would be nice if more people could fill those rolls so it would be more about the player instead of the class.

How should I upgrade my crappy laptop to run GW2 better?

    Posted: 20 Mar 2021 06:32 AM PDT

My dedicated GW2 laptop is my old ThinkPad T420. It's not ideal for gaming, I'm sure; it kind of complains like an old dog when I run GW2. I'm thinking of upgrading some of its components so that GW2 will run more smoothly — less lag, better fps, better graphics, etc.

So I'm wondering: which of these components, if I were to upgrade them, would give me the most bang for my buck in terms of GW2 performance?

    • Storage. Current: HDD (300 GB)
    • RAM. Current: 8 GB
    • Graphics card. Current: Intel HD Graphics 3000 (lol)
    • Others...?

Misc. specs: I'm running a clean copy of Win10. The display resolution is 1600x900.

For each component, I'd like to spend just $20-40. The game runs fine right now, by my standards, so I'm really just looking to drop an occasional twentyish bucks on eBay for an easily installed component that will noticeably improve performance, etc. That's the idea.

As for my tech skills, they're: eh. I have no fear of opening up a laptop and messing around in there, but if, for instance, a tech wiz were to regard a certain operation as 'a bit involved,' it'd almost certainly be too involved for me.

If I've forgotten any crucial info, please let me know. In any case, I'll see you all later today as I jump to my death repeatedly in Divinity's Reach. Thanks!
