Is there an app/website that can notify if a specific itemis is on sale in the gem store?

Pretty much title. I have my eye on a few select items, and I know the guild wars community has a lot of external resources for QOL features, it's just a matter of finding them

    Warrior healer suggestion

    Posted: 17 Mar 2021 08:24 AM PDT

I really want to see a healing warrior. If there is going to be a healing warrior, I would like it to be focused on tanking/healing. The more the warrior gets hurt, the better the healer. I will repurpose spellbreakers as healers since their full counter mechanic is meant for the warrior to get attacked.

While other healers stay out of the danger, warrior healers get into danger. The weakness of the build is if the warrior doesn't get targeted. Then every ally gets half the healing.

In Raids, they take up the spot of both healer and tank. But they don't provide much boons, if any. That way, the boon support has to be a DPS.

    Trait redesign:

    • Defense Grandmaster(Replaces Cleansing Ire): Inspire through pain- Every time the warrior gets hit, block or evade a attack, you gain adrenaline and heal allies.
    • Smash the tide(Replaces Sundering mace)- Disables(Daze, stuns, Fear, Taunts, etc) heal allies. Mace gets 20% reduced recharge.
    • SpellBreaker: Guard healing(Replaces Revenge Counter)- Full Counter heal allies.
    • Tactics: Vigorous shout(Redesign)- Shout heal allies. Gain healing power based on your Toughness.

My vision for the build is that the warrior would stack a lot of toughness, vitality, and healing power. They would use mace/shield and/or sword(primarily to get into the enemy faces).

They would use Defense/Tactics/Spellbreaker. Their utility bar would be a mix of shouts vs. self-survival(endure pain etc.) skills. If the enemy likes to target the allies more, the warrior would bring more shouts. If not, they would bring more self-survival skills. For Elites, They may choose between Rampage(For more health for self-survival) or Elite Banner.

    What are roleplay guilds?

    Posted: 17 Mar 2021 05:15 AM PDT

I'm a casual player and a lot of the casual guilds I see recruiting mention that they are "roleplay" guilds. Now I assume that it's something like acting like a certain character while interacting with guildmates but what have your experiences in roleplay guilds been like? (since I'd like to try entering one once)

    Edit: Grammar

Other than the Renegade, does any class have easy access to:

    Posted: 17 Mar 2021 04:48 AM PDT

Newish player here, most of my Guildwars knowledge is from reading Metabattle and watching videos on YouTube. I'm trying to break the cycle of reroll-itis because I guess I'm always having second thoughts and the "grass is greener" problems.

Basically I'm looking for a class that works great in Open World and WvW as those are the 2 modes that ended up being the most fun for me. I'd prefer a class that is primarily melee but with the option to do range when participating in Zergs or events where there's too much visual clutter to understand what's going on if you're in melee.

Naturally from reading Metabattle and watching YouTube this lead me to the Renegade. It has almost everything. Double swords and a bow, great sustain, really good boons and amazing break bar capabilities. On paper it's the perfect match but somethings about it just don't click with me.

I'm not a biggest fan on the Renegade fiction, nor do I find Kallas minions too fun or appealing visually. The wonkiness of the LoS on some surfaces really get to me and finally the stun breaks are inconvenient when you're trying to push DPS sometimes because of the energy requirements.

Is there any other class with a kit that naturally wants to have all these things (stun break, defiance bar control, sustain, melee with a good ranged option) that doesn't give up too much in order to keep the load out by default. And if so are there any videos showcasing them that are fairly recent. Some of the build showcases on youtube are starting to get long in the tooth so I'm not sure how relevant they may still be. Thanks for the time and input.

    Received Gems from failed transaction

    Posted: 17 Mar 2021 12:51 AM PDT

Yesterday, I bought gems using my credit card (or at least so I thought).

But today I found out, that apparently the transaction failed somehow and no money was transferred. No action has been taken against my account so far.Has anyone else experienced something similar in the past? Is there something I can do to preemtively prevent a suspension?

Update:Received mail from support (roughly translated)"We checked the mentioned order number and received your purchase, but it is still being processed. The purchasing process should be finished in the following days. Thank you for your patience."

    Beyond over this.

    Posted: 16 Mar 2021 10:22 PM PDT

I'm so terribly sick and tired of my game timing out at the end of the story instance. Every single one i've done since starting with LS2. I'm just went through the entire mission having to do with Taimi's discs and finding her in a cave that has the Ley map and some knowledge of Rata Novus. Not only does she bug out while getting into her mech, but the mission timed out as well, and i HATE fighting those tiny raptors and bristlebacks as a Mesmer.... *sighs*

I've even tried running an active program in the background (Like a stream) to no avail.... :( It's really hard to enjoy the story content when i keep having to redo every GD mission multiple times.

Any help would be easily over appreciated.

What do you think about hexes as a new combat mechanic coming with EoD?

    Posted: 17 Mar 2021 05:50 AM PDT

With HoT we got a heavy condition overhaul and the breakbar mechanic. With PoF we got a slightly higher focus on boons and the barrier mechanic.

I think hexes could be a possible new mechanic coming with EoD.
In GW1 hexes were spells that applied unique effects on the foe.
Some variants of hexes were turned into conditions in GW2 like
Arcane Conundrum, which is literally a restricted version of slow or
Ice Prison, which is chill without the slower cd part.

But hexes can be much more than "new conditions".
Many hexes in GW1 had a trigger, like
"You gain 2 Energy whenever target foe hits with an attack" or
"Whenever target foe is healed, the healer takes 15...67...80 holy damage" or
"Target foe's attacks deal 1...12...15 less damage, and that foe takes 10...46...55 damage with each attack."

I think this kind of debuff could bring a lot of possible mechanics without getting too much out of hand from a balancing pov (-> no matter what a hex does, it can be cleared by hex-clear skills, just like conditions).
Think of the "punish the healer for healing" thing in my second example.
Or something like "next x dodges causing knockdown / requires more endurance" or
"everytime your deal dmg, you also hit your nearby allies for x".

Some existing skills could even turned into hexes 1:1 like
Necros Vampiric Mark or Guardians Ray of Judgment.

    What do you think?
