    I've recently started playing GW2, just over the past 3 weeks. I've really enjoyed it so far, and I rarely really enjoy games. I don't play them, and this is the first MMO I've ever played so I'm incredibly new to what I need to do. This plays a part in my ability to socialize within the game.

    I was recently invited into a guild and they're so nice, casual, and helpful. I'm finding it very difficult to interact with them though. I second guess every single thing I say, I worry what they'll think of me. I don't want to participate in any guild activities because I'm so new to everything and I'm not a strong player, I don't want them to feel like I'm just a dead weight (which I know they probably won't they're very casual and know I'm new but the fear still lingers). Even just when people out in the world interact with me I freeze up and don't know what to say. I feel like a fraud and that I'm afraid to be discovered. I'm trying to rope my two friends into playing so I can kind of learn what it's like to do things in groups and go into guild activities with more confidence but they're both busy people with differing work hours.

    I don't know if this is a rant or a question but I'm posting regardless. I wonder if other people here have felt this way, deal with social anxiety on social games, how people have made friends on GW2, if other new players have this feeling of being a fraud, or anything like that.

    Just some feedback for next year, maybe.

    When you start a challenge and suddenly see that there is no chance of getting first place. I just stop doing it and wait for the next.

    For example, if a class with high mobility or good tagging power (looking at you thief) shows up in a race or mob clear challenge, I kinda just give up and wait for it to finish.

    Just give people a score on their performance instead of just the person with the "highest" score or maybe do something like Strikes/DRMS where you get gold/silver/bronze level of rewards based on overall performance

    PSA: You can get Tyrian Exchange Vouchers 1/week during Lunar New Year for basically nothing. They're awesome for skipping grindy content!

    During the holiday events, you can buy a limited number of Tyrian Exchange Vouchers from the festival vendors. These can be exchanged for dungeon tokens, geodes or bandit crests, and more! They're the easiest to get during Lunar New Year, costing only a few exotic luck. This is trivial to obtain, as luck can be upgraded at no charge by artificers.

    I highly recommend stocking up, as they cost basically nothing but a minute of your time, and not having to run dungeons (which are painful and abandoned at this point) or dry top next time you need dungeon currencies or geodes is so worth it.

    Highest Shader Setting Bug. So I recently upgraded to a 3080 rig and was bummed out this weird problem on certain mounts and awakened tar was not fixed. Anyone know how to fix this issue? Setting shaders to lowest removes this weird shading artefact, but its not a sensible fix.

    Hello! I've just got a stock mouse but I would like a good mouse for keybinds to help improve my performance in sPvP and WvW. I have small hands and short fingers; I'm a petite woman. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations? I was looking at the Corsair Scimitar but it looks like it was made for bigger hands

    The LFG tool needs some TLC("tender loving care"), and anet has brushed it off for quite some time. If you're a frequent commander in PVE land who hates it when squads randomly merge with yours, give it a look-see.

    Offensive shield

    Hey guys!Wanted to get some suggestion, which class or elite spec got the best offensive shield option?

    I personally like 'warrior' type classes with shield that can do damage like 'shield bash' etc. but i have tried warrior and guardian a very little and it looks like shield is more defensive option.My priority would be Open world build

    P.s. how good is firebrand axe/shield?

    Just an idea about how WvW Skirmish Claim Tickets system could be improved

    Hello everyone! After doing some math, i found that for someone with an average of 6 pips per tick, it takes over 20 hours to earn all the available tickets per week. IMO, that's something nearly impossible for those who can't afford to spend so much time ingame. And even if you play a lot, there's always a chance of something messing up your day and losing valuable time, so i had this idea:
    What if there was a way to buy those skirmish tickets we missed the last week? only the ones you didn't get, so weekly cap stays the same. The main problem i see could be "lazy people avoiding WvW and then buying them",and to solve that, the only way to buy them could be using wvw currencies (badges of honor, testimonies of heroics, or even something new). Even coming from the Skirmish chests is a good option too, because the only way to get any of these is by playing the gamemode.

    Stubborn friend is adamant that endgame isn't worth it

    I'm unfortunately not the most versed in endgame content, but his perspective seem to be quite skewed. And of course he can't help himself and compare it to WoW.

    He states endgame is cosmetic and the gear treadmill is not very hard to climb to reach ascended and that hasn't changed since the base game.

    Now he states his carrot in a MMO is loot that affects your character in powerful ways and you keep climbing that power ladder. With out that incentive he doesn't see a point to doing endgame.

    He then says that wow keeps releasing better gear to grind for. Personally I see the level squish in wow ruined that sense grinding for better gear. Not to mention WoW LFR allows people to get decked out in high ilvl gear so quickly that it loses its feeling of being special. Whats the big difference between level 190 vs 210 if you can do all the same content in LFR as a Premade? And its not like the gear is different either, it just has lower stats. I just cant understand how he sees wow endgame is better. Its probably bias.

    Hes a stubborn guy but he seems to have made his mind up that he finds GW2 endgame not worth it. Is there anything I can rebuttle with?

    Alternatives to getting Skyscale Ice of Air collection?

    Hello, my friend has trouble attempting the Claw of Jormag fight because their game gets desynced when the event starts. Just wondering if there is another way to get frozen by the ice elementals? No LW3 so Bitterfrost Frontier is not an option. Someone said ice elementals spawn 15mins before Claw, is this true? Thank you in advance 😊
