    Impossible to see boons in fast paced pvp situations/Possible workarounds QOL solutions?

    Hi fellow adventurers! Recently i have been having lots of trouble in pvp with deciphering which boons do enemies currently have active. The current UI is flawed with no way to customize it and there are no addons to change the ui.

    My main problems are:

    1. The boon indicators themselves are too small and there are far too many boons/conditions/and other effects on the enemy status bar which makes it almost impossible to make out when an enemy used important boons like aegis or stability in a fast paced fight with 300 other buffs/conditions/signets in the same status bar while all the boons are constantly moving and shifting whenever a condition/boon is applied/runs out.

    2. Boon indicators on the enemy character would be another way of noticing what the enemy is using in the middle of a fight (like guardian shield when you have aegis) but with all the particle effects and visual clutter its barely possible to see what the enemy is doing.

    3. The enemy health/status bar is on the top of the screen while your own status bar is bottom right. On a big screen you constantly have to go from looking at the top of your screen for enemy hp/boons and on the bottom for your own hp/boons/conditions.

    4. Additionally on a bigger screen using the biggest UI size setting is still way too small and i feel like i need a magnifying glass to see what the game is telling me. My sight is fine but my friend with impaired eyesight is not able to read the data the game is trying to display at all.

    I would like to ask if there are any ways to remedy this?

    I havent found much info about this topic and all threads regarding this are years old saying anet is working on it. I did find out that there are addons like TACO and arcdps which add graphical overlays while reading in game data and are legal. If there is no easier way to go about this would making an overlay which displays the enemy boons in a new window above your own boons in a more neat/organized way with bigger icons legal?

    Do you think the mystic forge secrets event will return?

    I'm getting tired of seeing these achievements left incomplete. It's been nearly 2 years. Think it will ever come back? Or do you think these should be "retired" to the historical section?

    High-Spirited Assault on the Vale - Open Sign-Up Raid Training Event [EU] - Repost!

    Hi all! Reposting because I think my timing was off for the target audience and there are still a few spots open! :)

    Welcome to the Reddit Raid Training event!

    There's an obvious gap in game where people that are trying to get into raids hit quite the wall.

    I hope to at least in a small way address that problem by running this event!

    On Saturday 13th February, 7PM GMT+1, Ill be hosting a raid training on Twitch with sign ups from reddit!

    The goal is to have people that have almost never done raids to partake in the fun, learn something from it and hopefully get a few kills in the process. Note I am far from the great player and really enjoy raids and teaching it to people. So don't expect a godlike performance from me!

    Am I eligible?

    As the goal is to teach new people to raids the expectation is that you have little to no experience within raids, we will be starting with Wing 1. If you have gotten several kills in wing 1 I would ask you not to apply. I could easily setup a way to verify this but there would be obvious ways around it so Ill just trust in your honesty.

    How do I prepare?

    1. Get Discord. Don't need a mic, although interacting on voice is encouraged! Push to talk will be required.
    2. Get as close to the role you plan to play in terms of build optimization, so you have to decide on a build and go from there. I am available to give advice if you care to ask on discord. You do not have to be 100% optimized but getting as close as possible is really important. You can find builds on https://snowcrows.com/.
    3. You will need the Heart of Thorns masteries, Gliding and Updraft.
    4. Exotic level 80 gear close to the snowcrows build of your choice.
    5. No infusions, having the correct runes, sigil and about 80% of the stats in gear is fine.

    Who will be chosen?

    Ill be attempting to craft a cohesive composition for the raid, which means support roles will get first preference. If you do not get chosen you can always tune in on Twitch and join in on the fun anyway!

    For those that are unfamiliar with the requirements of a normal 10 man composition for raids it looks something like this :

    Tank (doubles as quickness/alacrity source generally)

    Alacrity (double mesmer or renegade with boon duration)

    Banner Warrior (DPS+banner buffs for precision and power/condition dmg)

    Druid (for utility, healing and spirit buffs)

    Secondary healer (for less confident groups)

    Miscellaneous DPS. (some encounters will need condition damage)

    "Defeat" and the Rune of the Afflicted

    Hi guys,

    I've been scouring the wiki but couldn't get a black-on-white answer. I'm thinking of using Superior Runes of the Afflicted in a WvW build. The last set bonus is:

    +10% 📷 Condition Duration; create a death nova at a foe's location upon their defeat. (Cooldown: 15 Seconds)

    I was wondering if downing a player would count as a "defeat" for triggering this death nova effect, which would make it quite potent IMO as you immediately cripple the ability for opponents to revive their buddy (thinking small-scale fights). Defeat in the normal sense means a player death, which doesn't sound as useful and would make me look for other runesets. It's quite a hassle to test in WvW without knowing someone on another server, so would anybody know if the rune effect follows the strict definition of defeat in a WvW setting? (I guess I'm hoping for an exception here, just want to be sure..) Cheers!

    I used to do a lot of fractals and noticed I have lot of this currency left, I don't really care for any of the rewards you get from them other than the encryption keys.

    My question is: would it be worth it to get the keys and buy the encryptions from tp for profit?

    Ember infusion X celestial infusion

    Do these 2 infusions stack? On a video on youtube i saw they did. But now that i have both of them i dont see any diffirence.... do i need to put them on the same ring to make them stack or dont they stack at all? Now they are on seperate rings and there is no diffirence when i remove or add the celestial ring

    Is there a guildrecruitment Discord?

    I have been trying to find a Raiding guild for the past 2 weeks and have not been able to achieve anything.

    I have tried the /r/guildrecruitment subreddit and of all the posts, only 2 have made it possible to come in contact with, one turned out a complete failure due to people never showing up and the second works on a system where you apply online and wait for their reply (think early WoW style) and haven't had a reply yet.

    With all the posts sh!tting on raiding experience and how few people actually get to do the content it's fairly obvious that it's harder to find someone to do it with.

    I am @260LI trying to get a more stable group/guild to raid with and progress but I have hit a dead end.

    I have 3 classes raid ready and can fill multiple roles but there is no group to raid with in EU, where I am at.

    Is there a more active community for recruitment like a discord server or such?

    I've been playing GW2 on and off since its beta, and most of my characters have been lvl80 for a long time now. I've recently made some new characters and all of a sudden remembered something that might have been missing - I remember that the mail we receive from certain NPC near the beginning of the story was voice acted. But none of them are now. Am I going crazy? Was it never voice acted and I'm just hallucinating things?
