How is it that after 8 years gw2 is still the best mmorpg?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2020 04:37 AM PST

I mean after 8 years i sure as hell am sick of it, but i don't see any other new mmorpg that is going to take the crown. Literally, gw2 is still the best mmorpg. The market is like devoid of the next big thing. Is new world the next best option? The only game big enough is cyberpunk but that ain't no mmorpg. Is the genre dying or what?

I create a post for Champions LFG issue !

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 08:28 PM PST

    What a disappointing update.

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 08:33 PM PST

I've enjoyed the saga so far despite its flaws ... Bjora's Marches, Grothmar and Drizzlewood were are unique maps with their own atmosphere.

But this episode was such a let down.

I understand that the devs are busy with the Expac but I wish they'd just put off the release instead of shipping something so shoddy.

Not to mention the number of weird design choices they made. A few bugs on release day is normal but this transcended that.

-You can only play DRM as a party but LFG is only for squads. Why?

-Minimap is not functioning for half of the DRM.

    -Stupid mastery gating.

-The design of the DRM itself. Just literally an escort event followed by a HP sponge boss. It is so mind numbingly boring. Not even the enemies are new you're just fighting shit you've seen at level 20? But for some reason its instanced? I wouldn't mind this except the NPCs have barely any dialogue and it makes the whole map feel so empty, its hard to take Primordus seriously as a threat.

All 3 events are basically the same and 20 mins each its so boring.

-They shouldn't have had the NPC story dialogue for the DRM. It's annoying but also immersion breaking to repeat it over and over. After the story scenes, it could have been a simple ongoing defense event.

-Barely any story content or achievements? No achievement reward.

-The story itself. The impact of Primordus attacking a major city like Rata Sum should have been conveyed better like when Mordremoth attacked the grove but it barely had an impact here. The destroyerd are supposedly bigger and meaner except... lol they look and act basically the same. I'm not asking to make the combat 10x harder but you can convey the difference in some otherway.

At least if this was relayed properly, it would make more sense for the asura to make idiot choices like being ok leaving an elder dragons forces in their hub. I can understand a strategic alliance but you dont need to invite the dragon into your house. Especially a dragon that has a history of chasing both kodan and norn from their home. Why do the asura think they're going to be an exception. Sure they have a closer history to Primordus but in a city of supposed geniuses no one has read up on history? Ok.

Having two elder dragons rise at the same time is such an epic concept that this is all the more underwhelming.

    (Spoilers) Braham's bow

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 10:12 AM PST

In the Metrica DRM, Braham has a strange new ability to sense destroyers. Some people are speculating that it could be because he's going to be the Champion of Primordus.

That lead me to wonder when and where Braham might have interacted with Primordus' magic. He's been very focused on Jormag since season 3 now. Primordus is the fire dragon, and the only item I can think of that Braham has and uses fire, is his bow!

In season 3 episode 3, a Crack in the Ice, Braham finds a Jotun scroll that gives his bow "fire powerful enough to counteract Jormag's ice" - Wiki. We know the Jotun were around during the last Elder Dragon rising, we know that they lived in the mountains, maybe even close to where Jormag was, and they were fighting the Elder Dragons. But we don't know much more, like what kind of magic they might have used. Asgeir also used a Jotun scroll and killed Frostfang in one blow. And the only fire that seems to harm Jormag in any real way is from Primordus, as seen by them being each other's weakness.

People might say "but Braham wasn't the only one to wield the bow" or "But he doesn't have it anymore", but he had it for almost 4 years (1329 AE to 1332 AE), when Ryland and Bangar only did for a few months, and we don't know where it is now. Braham is also the one who activated it, so perhaps that played a part too.

What do you think? Could it be that Braham used a scroll fueled by the fire of Primordus and is now feeling its effects because Primordus is awakening?

How do I get to this Mastery Insight in Bloodtide Coast?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2020 03:06 AM PST

I think “double maps” would be a solution to bring back before and during LWS1 events/maps and continue the story on new and existing maps.

    Posted: 19 Nov 2020 10:04 AM PST

I think there is a good and - while I'm not a developer so I only assume - easy way to solve the problem of the missing before and during content of LWS1 (for example the different stages of maps of Scarlet's War, even the old Lion's Arch).

What if... at every map that changed over time would have a Priory Historian or some Asuran Mist Scientist or some person who aligns with the lore that could "make you remember" or "teleport back in the echo of the past" to a different time stage of a given map. Let's say Kessex Hills. As far as I remember Kessex Hills had five different stages in the game so far:

    1. Kessex Hills at release

    2. Kessex Hills Prelude, when we saw trees chopped up and gathering on the water and a big force shield preventing people to get close to the middle of Viathan Lake

    3. Kessex Hills when the Tower of Nightmares appeared and people could enter to the challange alongside the open-world events

    4. Kessex Hills after the Tower fell

    5. Kessex Hills during and after the mordrem attack on Fort Salma (present day)

How about when you port to Kessex Hills or enter the map, right at the entrace there would be an NPC with the power I said above. You could pick a stage of your choice and you could experience the events, the landscape and the overall feeling of that map in the past. There is no way that ArenaNet just deleted everything from LWS1, even as I'm not a developer I'm 100% sure that they got stored those maps, events, currencies and everything else somewhere.

This would technically solve the problem of those IMO wasted works and ton of plus content that was added during LWS1. I personalky think that LWS1 is a pretty big black hole in this game because it changed a lot of and often monumental things on several maps. Also this "system" would open the door for ArenaNet to go back to different maps and go on with the story on them. Like who wouldn't want to see Orr after Trahearne cleansed it with Caladbolg and the Commander killed Zhaitan. By this method the game would be truly whole as every moment would still be part of it and everyone could experience what we could 8 years ago.

    Thoughts?

What is the most usable profession for a CC breaker/Support in Fractals (Core only)

    Posted: 20 Nov 2020 03:01 AM PST

    Hi there,

I'm a core player and after using necro for a while (i love it) i thought on building a new persona that i can use has a CC breaker/support mostly in fractals. My first thought was mesmer with greatsword/sword+pistol but some of my team mates said that i could experiment elem other said guardian or even warrior double mace.

My question here is to help choose a new persona.

    Thanks in advance
