PSA: Trading between GW and GW2 is considered "a form of RMT" Posted: 21 Oct 2020 02:06 AM PDT Yesterday's discussion about trading between GW and GW2 left me without a clear answer as to what the offical ArenaNet policy was. Therefore, I contacted official support and asked them this question: "Is it against the rules for me to trade my GW item or Ectoplasm for another item or gold in GW2? What is the official policy on players trading items/currency between Guild Wars games?" Their first reply was the usual answer-unrelated-to-the-question-asked reply that said: "Customer support does not encourage or suggest any trades outside of the designated Trading Post". While I am not satisfied with the reasoning behind their answer, it appears that this is their official stance. My biggest problem about this is the fact that the game rules of both games do not mention anything about cross-game trades. I believe that this should have been covered in the game rules, especially considering the overlap between the player bases of both games; and that because it is not explicitly covered - but RMT is - they're going to default to "that's RMT" reasoning and call it a day. ​ In conclusion: Please be aware that trading between GW and GW2 could get you in trouble. submitted by /u/CataphractGW [link] [comments]

Halloween exploit? Posted: 20 Oct 2020 10:43 PM PDT A few people keep spawning into LA, talking to the Mad King's Steward, gaining a skill point (and presumably a quest reward), then disappearing. Repeat ad nauseum. Like dozens of times in a row. Anyone know what this exploit is? Seems pretty blatant. submitted by /u/Qebh [link] [comments]

Returning player questions Posted: 20 Oct 2020 11:53 AM PDT Hey folks, I'm getting my first PC tomorrow and it wouldn't be right to play anything but my favorite game ever growing up on it, so I've decided to come back. I doubt I'll recover my childhood account so I'll start fresh. My end goal is to get Obsidian armor because I never accomplished that and to find a fantastic social guild and make some new friends. Survivor Rage Posted: 20 Oct 2020 09:05 AM PDT Hey. Spent a good few years between 2006-2010 playing this and thought I'd try it out again. One of the things I remember was survivor being a cool title, so I set myself the goal of trying to at least achieve the base title for this. I'm 14 hours in and 3 character deaths in, I'm kind of losing my sanity with it a bit now. Replaying the same missions over and over is saddening. I'm attemping this on a Monk in Cantha, really any tips or advice would be good. I've bought stat effect consumables, highest armour at my level and city and even the xp+ tome things. I've seen the survivor ToA halloween event thing - looks cool, I will probably do this from level 20 - but need to be able to survive to 20 to get there first...
