    [iS/dP] Improvisation & Disposession | Vale Guardian | 1:43

    Hello Reddit!

    Recently [LN] had posted a 1:47 kill with some things we noticed could be improved upon.

    We've seen the dominance of Power Chronomancer stacking in several records recently, however we felt like Soulbeast was the best raw DPS option for this record, while only use 2 Power Chronomancers purely for Quickness application.

    GENERAL STRATEGY

    In this comp, Power Chronomancers were used to have a Timewarp in each phase, along with a Well of Action in each split phase. This also allowed us to pull the seeker out that spawns in mid during phase 3, which meant we were able to stay closer to the centre for maximum DPS uptime.

    We optimized the Firebrand DPS rotation for short phases and also pre-stacked ashes before the fight began allowing for very high phase 1 damage. Similarly to the kill in which [LN] posted, the Firebrands also used a Greatsword as their secondary weapon set.

    The Soulbeasts precasted OWP with stanceshare before the fight began (done so by splitting into 2 groups to guarantee OWP application on the Soulbeasts, Warrior and Renegade). This was not only done to increase squad DPS but also because if it was not precasted then it was not up for the start of phase 2, so doing this was absolutely necessary.

    For split phases, Green Guardian was consistently the last to die. We decided to have a Soulbeast use Sic'em, but due to cooldowns it would progressively desync until it came off cooldown very late in phase 3. The solution was to swap a Soulbeast from Blue Guardian in split 2 to allow the original Green Guardian Soulbeast's Sic'em cooldown to reset.

    The subgroups were done this way as to keep the important buffs (Spotter, EA, AP and Soulcleave) on the Power DPS classes. The Firebrands were by themselves because they did not need any of those buffs and also self generated enough quickness that they did not need the proc of any Well of Action. Litany of Wrath was also used in phase 2 & phase 3 to negate some of the heavy damage pressure coming in from the CC attack and the green circle damage.

    Finally, as is expected in the current day, food swapping between on-kill food and ascended feasts was utilized. However, we decided against the use of on-heal food as we believe it's ethically bad and were happy to achieve this kill time without it.

    Ok this is my first MMORPG ever, so I need some help.

    First of all how does PvP work, is there some type of special requirements to fight each other or u can kill anyone???

    Secondly are there like different that can fight each others???

    Is there player killing to get xp loot, instead of doing missions or quest???

    Can u team up with ppl??

    Yes most of my MMORPG knowledge from animes (especially SAO), so I would like as many tips as possible. And I would like ppl to explain how this game works, bcz in my brain MMORPG work like SAO.

    Point to playing anything that does not spam conditions in PVP?

    So I have been playing for a week or so and have noticed a trend and really noticed it when playing any more melee-focused classes in conquest and such.

    Is there a reason to play a class/build that does not just spam things like burning, poison, and bleeds? I just don't understand it when I am chasing people around like a dog going after a car hitting them for maybe 1kish then fall over dead pop up the damage recap and see I took 70k+ damage from ticks of fire damage.

    I can even tell the difference in playing it with a thief, trying to play something like a sword, dagger, or even staff as opposed to just walking around with a pistol watching people fall over from poison/bleeds in 3 seconds.

    Am I missing something? It seems like any class I fight has 99% of their damage output on my death breakdown from condition and the other 1% is simply the skills that apply them.

    Anyone else having connectivity problems right now?

    2 massive lag spikes eventually resulting in a disconnect, then logging into launcher was slow, got to character screen and couldn't 'load in' to the game--- simply greyed out the "Play" button.

    Finally got in after relogging with another slow launcher process. But now stuck in another massive lag spike, it would seem.

    Update: Another disconnect just now at 17:28. Error said something about unable to connect to login servers.

    honestly, how we know if Alliances would have saved WvW long term anyway?

    was looking at the main forum's WvW subforum for some random reason. But one subject that keeps coming up is the lack of verbal communication regarding the WvW Alliance concept thats been in the works for 2 to 3 years now I believe.

    But to me personally, the way Alliances were described, it sounds like a micro version of Server Links.

    Server Links were another concept introduced to WvW to solve a problem, but really didn't fix the issue at all.

    The way Alliances were described, it looks to erase the last bit of faction pride that remains in WvW.

    But is that a good thing?
    Also does Alliances help save WvW from its constant decline in popularity and population?

    What if ArenaNet did some internal testing and discovered that WvW Alliances had a negative impact and didnt want to release it after all and went a different direction? Or what if they decided to save what they doing for the next expansion instead of doing the Alliances?
