    I think I've finally found my ideal MMORPG

    I am brand new to this subreddit as I only started playing a few days ago. I had never played the game before despite being a massive MMORPG fan.

    The reason I initially tried it was actually for a concept of a Youtube video on my channel where I tried MMOs that slipped under my radar over the years and GW2 was one of them. To be honest, I initially really just saw it as content for my channel and never expected to actually be charmed by the game.

    Now I'm mad at myself for ignoring it all these years. This game is exactly what I'm looking for in an MMORPG: The freedom, the fast paced combat, the exploration, the world events, the PVP... All felt amazing and fun! And that's just the few things I could see in my first hours of playing! I have no idea what's waiting for me and that's exciting.

    I guess I'm simply making this post to introduce myself to the subreddit and also to share just how pumped I am to start this brand new adventure. If you're interested in actually seeing my moment-to-moment reactions to the game, I'll drop a link to the aforementioned video for those that are interested.

    Change the Hero choice chests to be able to pick however many amalgamated gems at once if you have multiple chests like Icebrood material bag.

    I just recenetly started with GW2 and checked a bit the festival vendors, but have no clue what of the items could be actually useful. I also get a lot of these Quartz Crystals and saw you can use them for some Zephyrite weapons, but I don't really like any of those. Is there anything else I can use them for?

    The Sun-Blessed Vision cosmetic (from the latest annual achievement) has drastically different glow intensity in the wardrobe and preview windows compared to the in-world appearance, to the point where the in-world appearance can become a deal-breaker (Left is wardrobe, center is in-world). Gib fix.

    Am I the only one that thinks the cursor size in the game is too small and sometimes lose track of it? I think it would be beneficial to have an option to make it bigger based on preference as most games have that option implemented already.

    Trying WoW again made me realize how much GW2 spoiled me

    Little backstory: I used to play WoW a lot in my teens, nearly non stop from 2007 to 2011 and then a few month every couple of years. After 2011 I tried a lot of different mmo, and while I have some nice memory on a few of them I did not really stick in any of them except GW2. I played non stop at the beginning and then on and off few months per years depending on my real life schedule.

    Now I stopped playing GW2 and all other mmo since a little more than a year because of IRL stuffs but when I finally had time to start playing again I decided to go back to WoW to play with some old friends instead of going back to GW2. It was such a mistake ...

    I won't even talk about gameplay, graphics, story or anything like this. But just about QoL and progression. I was always more interested to the PvP (WvW in GW2) than the PvE, so my first thing when coming back to WoW was to try some instanced PvP match and I get destroyed extremely fast. Sure I forgot a little how to play and my skill was not top, but the main reason was simply mechanical:

    • Do you remember that armor you got a year ago after completing a quite challenging content ? Well now you can have better by doing a ~5 min random open world quest.
    • You want the best armor to be on par with everyone in the PvP match ? Sure you can try this challenging content to try to get one. But first you'll have to farm all the previous tiers in order to be accepted in a group for this content. Oh, and you'll have to farm it on repeat for month before getting the complete armor because the rewards are complete broken RNG without any guarantee.
    • You have a good armor and weapon now ? That's nice but the other player also have this super nice and broken new powers that are completely game changer. You want it ? It's easy, just go farm this brain dead and time gated PvE content. It should take about a month a daily hour of farm.
    • Nice now you are nearly up to date. But now there is new shiny upgrades for your armor and weapon that completely unbalance the game if you don't have them ! Let's go farm another time-gated PvE content ! Don't worry this time it's (slightly) challenging and should keep you awake will doing hours of the same 3 things on repeat.

    Let's compare this to gw2 if you want to only play WvW:

    • Get lvl 80.

    • Get all the skills you need: either you try it alone and it take a few hours or you wait for a group doing HP train and it's really fast (and not time gated)

    • Buy or craft exotic armor and weapon. It take what ? A couple of hours ? 5h max i'd say.

    • Congrats, you are now nearly as strong as all your oponents ! You can start to enjoys WvW right now.

    • When you have time and have decided on what to play, up a craft profession and make an ascended armor. You will be able to do that with the gold, recipe and material you got by playing WvW.

    Best thing is: you did that already but took a 3years break ? Well you are still with the best stuff possible !

    Now for the QoL, I will not give all the details because I have found other older post here saying basically the same. Let's just say that this game is absolutely not alt friendly, even though there have been some improvement in the past years, when starting a new char you have to do so much things again because you cannot share most of the progression from your main.

    TLDR; in order to be competitive in WoW PvP content you have to farms hours and hours of brain dead and time-gated PvE content. Starting now or even a months ago as I did and you will never have a fair chance against older players simply because they will mechanically be stronger than you.

    I'll give a chance to the next expansion, plus the beginning of an expansion is usually fun. But for now I give up.

    Turns out minstrel gear isn't quite as easy to come by as I'd hoped for.

    What are/is (some) of the fastest and easiest ways to obtain it? Wikia is really unclear.

    Help! My account was suspended and I have no idea why... I cannot even log in to submit a ticket.

    I am in the USA and have been playing on an EU server since 9/2012. Yesterday I had been collecting kite boxes and finishing map completion on my Ranger I created on 9/17/2012. I am at about 96% map completion for this character (it will be my 3rd map completion.) I switched to my main character a revenant to I could log into WVW real quick to do the daily before the daily reset. I tried to switch but it said "new build" and I had to log out and log back in... I go into WVW and all the flags were grey. Another team started to attack our fortress and a huge group from my server came... we defeated them and I got my daily reward with the 2gold etc. I went to a camp and all the sudden I was logged out and VERY quick error popped up that said "account suspended" and something else but I couldn't read it. I have played this game from the start and have never had any issues...
    Because of Covid and being home a lot, I have recently completed things I never thought I would (WVW legendary back, Conflux, Aurora, and Vision.) I have been playing a lot more than usual and trying to complete things I started years ago. I dont know if my ban was from something in WVW (I play this the most) or because I have been playing extra to do map completion on one of my original characters. They were at 76% and now almost complete. I did the last few maps with the exception of the hearts and was planning on finishing Mount Maelstrom, Frostgorge Sound, and Fireheart Rise hearts and be complete.

    I just have no idea why I am banned and I cannot even log in to do a ticket. I was able to submit a ticket without logging in but still haven't heard anything back... it's been 12 hours. The WVW event starts today and I have been looking forward to this all week, hence the reason I was rushing to finish a map completion on one of my oldest characters.

    The error code I get when trying to log in is: 3023:1012:6:377

    What can I do? I have so much time invested and I have purchased A LOT of gems... and have tons of outfits/skins/gems to convert to gold. I haven't made any recent purchases and still do not know why I was suspended.

    Best set of infinite gathering tools

    In the upcoming anniversary update I'm planning to buy a set of infinite gathering tools. Currently volatile and unbound magic tools seem like the best options. Which ones are better? I am not planning to remove or add new glyphs, so take that into consideration. Are volatile ones better because of superior drop or is the single swing animation of the unbound ones worth it?

    I love my ele both look and aesthetic but i just can't play it effectively at all...Currently i'm playing a fresh air power tempest.. I'm constantly dying and struggling with survival overall..Even more so i'd love to play weaver.. but it's seems far too complicated for a ditz like me xD

    I mainly play Condi Mirage but struggle with ele xD

    .... I run dagger/dagger or dagger/warhorn sometimes for the fun of it I use staff
