Stop on the direction of Achievements....

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 02:04 AM PDT

Im into AP hunting now on new contents as they seem to be easy to get with all the players playing them... What im not liking is the achievements itself, achievements should be do this or do something unique like this..... Or go here summon the boss, kill him in X duration or not taking damage. Actual achievement that are challenging and makes you try to do better and play analyze your gameplay where did i go wrong and could do better to do this achievement?

NOW OUR ACHIEVEMENT TREND ARE KILL THIS INSTANCE 100 TIMES, DO THIS EVENT 100X, CLICK F ON THIS THINGS 1000X.... i never even bothered doing those achievement and now just finding actual achievement thats engaging and try to make the player push the mechanics to the limit.

TL;DR - lets stop with this direction of mindless grind achievement.... Do cold war X times? Do this X times? Press F x times? Honestly just from cold war you could put soo much other good achievement... Kill 500 mobs in 1 instance run or kill 10 champions in a single run. Or no do the instance without anyone dying. Spawn atleast 10 chest....

Guild Wars 2 Addons - Which Ones Should You Get?

Guild Wars 2 Addons – Which Ones to Use?

Addons are an important part of many MMORPGs. Depending on the game, they can either make a nice quality of life improvement or be an internal element that's almost necessary to succeed. Addons can work in variosu ways and offer a lot of different things – from free interface enhancements, through overlays, useful notifications to DPS trackers, and map improvements. Whenever a popular MMORPG needs extra functionality, there's probably an addon that helps with that.

Guild Wars 2 is much less reliant on addons than games like World of Warcraft. However, there still are multiple worthwhile options to choose from. In this guide, we're going to talk about a list of the best top Guild Wars 2 Addons for every occasion! You will surely find something to try out!

    TacO – Tactical Overlay

TacO is the most popular addon in Guild Wars 2. It might be especially valuable for new players that can use the extra guidance at the beginning of their Guild Wars 2 adventure. It's a multi-purpose tool, helping with various parts of the PvE gameplay. It can make the game manageable, even if you know nothing about it!

Some of the TacO's functionalities include: showing locations of certain important points on the map, helping with navigation through jumping puzzles and difficult parts of the map. It's providing additional information when you hover your cursor over something, advice regarding the zone/instance that you're in, assistance with completing achievements, and even warnings before the regular timed attacks of bosses in dungeons and raids. As we established, it's a nice assistance for players who taek their first steps in GW2.

If you're a player that likes getting extra information in-game (and you probably are, since you're reading an article about addons) – TacO is an excellent option for you. It works like a combination of multiple minor addons, and it's based on the official ArenaNet API – so this stuff is fully supported by the GW2 developers.

    PAO – Personal Assistance Overlap

PAO is a smaller addon that's designed mostly for finding your way around different maps. It provides a lot of information about the events (active and upcoming) through timers and notifications. It can be used for farming events and chests in all the GW2 hunting zones. It also assists with map completion, giving you directions to the important locations.

Besides, it allows you to track prices on the Trading Post and make quick calculations regarding the potential profits you could make. It can also track your progress in terms of completing dungeons and measure the time that you spend in each of these instances. It has some WvW-related functionalities too. You can keep track of the objectives and get notifications about ongoing sieges. It's generally a useful tool to play with. Of course, you can also place your own markers on the map.

In general, Personal Assistance Overlap is less overwhelming in terms of the information it provides. It's a better option for people who already have some idea about the game. It's a handy tool that doesn't impact the gaming experience that much, but it provides the most important pieces of information. PAO is also based on the official API, so it's entirely safe to use.

    Augmented Tyria

Augmented Tyria is another addon that helps with map completion. Its main functionality is detecting the important locations that you have got to visit and creating the optimal routes to them. The user merely has to follow these routes and complete point after point. Augmented Tyria is based on the official GW2 API. It's a helpful one-purpose tool that can be useful if you want to complete maps as quickly as possible. Take it if you're struggling to find all the important locations.

    GW2 Radial (Mount Swap)

Most players agree that the introduction of mounts in the Path of Fire expansion has been a great addition to the game, but the way that ArenaNet implemented it leaves a bit to be desired. Reaching the most remote locations can require multiple mounts sometimes. However, players didn't receive a built-in ability to swap mounts quickly.

GW2 Radial is a simple quality of life upgrade that makes it easier to access different mounts. You can also use it with certain novelty items. It's a straightforward tool that doesn't provide any unfair advantages. The creators are staying in touch with ArenaNet to make sure that their addon is perfectly safe to use and doesn't break the TOS. We recommend it to every player that has access to the Path of Fire. It fixes a small and annoying problem, but it's almost a must have! GW2 Raidal is continuously updated.

    ArcDPS

DPS meters are a considerable part of every MMORPG that features a competitive raiding scene. They also have been a somewhat controversial topic in the Guild Wars 2 community. While ArenaNet isn't strictly against using a DPS tracking tool, they haven't provided an official API for that purpose. It means that every game update may cause some bugs in ArcDPS and other tools of this type. Besides, while you're not going to get banned for using software that measures your DPS, ArenaNet won't help you if it causes any problems with your account.

Moreover, there are some strict rules about what the DPS trackers can and cannot do. Their functionality has to be entirely limited to measuring and displaying combat data. That's why ArcDPS tracks your outgoing damage as well as healing and boon uptime. It also saves the combat logs so you can review and share them later. Since ArenaNet doesn't provide the official API, the gathered data might not be completely accurate, but it's still quite reliable (good enough for most of the players). If you want a DPS meters for Guild Wars 2 that will show you the logs look back at, ArcDPS is the name to check out. Its creators continuously communicate with ArenaNet to make sure that the tool doesn't have any forbidden features.

    GW2 Hook, ReShade and GemFX

Guild Wars 2 has stunning graphic design and visuals, but there are ways to make it even better. GW2 Hook, ReShade, and GemFX are the most popular graphic enhancing GW2 Addons. They provide the players with a lot of possibilities to customize visuals of their game. You can use them to remove the fog, improve clarity, make the colors on your screen more vibrant, and more! There are tons of options and configurations.

These addons don't provide any advantages, so you won't be banned for using them (once again, ArenaNet adopted the "use at your own risk" policy). They don't use the API, because the visual enhancers have no reason to do so. Originally, the visual addons were supposed to just help with the fog and make the players see more clearly, but they quickly became much more advanced. Most of these tools are rather easy on the GPU. However, you probably shouldn't be using them if your computer can barely run the game. They might have a bigger impact on the performance if you start using a ton of blurs and custom shades.

    Immersive Combat Mode

It is a really interesting add-on that gives GW2 more of an action RPG feel. Instead of providing additional information, it cleans up the game's interface, making it smoother and more comprehensible. It also allows the player to toggle the Right Mouse Button instead of holding it. Immersive Combat Mode is one of the oldest, still running addons to GW2. You can still use it if you feel like the interface is too chaotic. It can make the game more enjoyable as you join the fray.

    Discontinued Addons

There have been a few popular Guild Wars 2 mods, third party tools and addons discontinued some time ago for various reasons. Another DPS meter called BGDM (preferred by a lot of the players) has been retired, because of the additional features that went beyond measuring combat data. ArenaNet has permanently banned the author, and the BGDM project has shut down.

The developers of ArcDPS had a tool that allowed the players to save and load Build Templates. This function has been discontinued after the game developers added it to Guild Wars 2 (at last).

    Guild Wars 2 Addons

Even though Guild Wars 2 is not exactly an addon-heavy MMORPG, there are quite a few ones that you can consider using. The ability to swap mounts is a great functionality that probably should be a part of the main game. Using the right GW2 overlays or add-ons can also apply some changes to the UI and make the map completion much faster and less frustrating. Moreover, extra visual options can make your time playing through Guild Wars 2 content even more enjoyable!

    FAQ

    Does GW2 have addons?

Yes, while the GW2 addons aren't as crucial as in MMOs like World of Warcraft (WoW) or Elder Scrolls Online (ESO), there are multiple useful tools made by the players that can make the game more convenient and enjoyable. Look at the list above, see which ones you think are the most interesting and download them. You won't know how useful they are, until you try them. You can also search for other addons online.

Will I get banned for using GW2 add-ons?

Using this type of tools is not prohibited, you can only get banned if your software performs forbidden actions. Overlays and other addons that provide additional information are usually safe to use, but bots and scripts grant their users unfair advantages and break Terms of Service - using them can result in a ban, but it happens extremely rarely to players who are not deliberately cheating.

Can I use a DPS meter in GW2?

DPS meters in Guild Wars 2 are not forbidden as long as they're limited to collecting and displaying combat data. The thing is, ArenaNet doesn't support an official API for measuring DPS, so these tools are not 100% accurate. If you need one, the best DPS tracker available to be found is called ArcDPS.

New Feature and Mastery Ideas for Cantha Expansion

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 05:42 AM PDT

So I have been thinking about this and decided to share my thoughts on what new masteries could be introduced in the upcoming Cantha expansion.

Unlock Mounts/Gliding Mastery: This one may be a little strange sounding, but I think it would be interesting if they locked mounts and gliding until after you complete the main story. I feel this would open their design options a bit and give a bit more replay value to the maps of Cantha. This would just be a single level mastery to unlock all mounts/gliding after you finish the main story.

Sailing Mastery: Assuming the Jade Sea is once again a sea, sailing would be a logical mastery(though this would only work if they did lock the mounts). The progression could be shallow water sailing, deep water sailing, and rough water sailing. And to keep it relevant even after unlocking the mounts by making the sailboat the only thing that can get through rough waters or into partial submerged caves. This would also give ANet another thing to make skins for - a sailboat!

Plague Protection Mastery: Assuming the plague is still a problem in Cantha, this is a simple way to slowly unlock areas in the world with each mastery level unlocking ares more and more deeply impacted by said plague.

Fishing: Sure, this is kind of obvious. This would be a new gathering skill. Just like harvesting, logging, and mining. They could tie this nicely into new food recipes with whatever new stat combos they add in this expansion.

Transmutations – The next level .. Accessories, Rings, Amulets and Infusions - Fashion Fiesta

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 04:16 AM PDT

    Legendary Items: Accessories, Rings, Amulets

Problem Statement: The introduction of legendary accessories allowed stat swapping with non-slumbering versions unable to hide 'legendary' bauble effects which can be distracting to play with. The legendary wardrobe will in future allow reuse of these accessories onto multiple characters.

    Potential Solution:
    • Allow wardrobe transmutation of existing rings, amulets and accessories to unlocked effects.
    • Allow option to 'show' or 'hide' the accessories being worn on your character.

    Opportunities:
BLTC: Future sales of new skins for: rings, amulets and accessories.

    Why this solution?
    • This extends the current wardrobe mechanism to give full customisation for items a character is wearing. 'Shown' accessories would be shown above armor (e.g. rings worn above gloves etc). This allows ultimate customisation for characters for items they are wearing.

    Infusions

Problem Statement: Stat Infusions cannot be easily used across multiple character or easily swapped and have a high price variation often with effects individuals do not want (<2G), plain agony stat infusions (\~73G - +9 agony +5 effect) or highly desired effects (>4K-10K Gold) or is limited to 2 per account (red/blue bauble infusions).

    Potential Solution:
    • An infusion of a type unlocks that "infusion effect" and can be stored in the wardrobe and the existing infusion made account bound allowing it to be used across multiple characters.
    • Infusions can be transmuted with an effect that is available in the wardrobe
    • Introduction of legendary 'infusions' that can stat swap that can be stored into the new legendary armoury.

    Why this solution?
    • Allow customisation of characters with items such as 'red' bauble infusions that is currently limited to 2 (maximum) per account can currently be used.
    • Multiple characters will be able to use the infusion effects once unlocked from the wardrobe onto a similar infusion.

    Opportunities:
    • BLTC: Future sales of new 'infusion' effects.
    Examples of new 'infusion' effects:

    • Flying green skulls around you
    • The flames from the Fiery Dragon sword licking around your feet?

What if we had rewards in WvW just like we have in Drizzlewood Coast?

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 05:48 AM PDT

I'll list some notorious facts within the game:

    • WvW lacks rewards for its players;

    • Some people complain that the pip system incentivizes afk play for farmers;

    • Players flock where they can play and reap rewards at the same time (AKA farms);

    • WvW would benefit a lot from an influx of players.

That said, what if we got chests for any objective controlled on that map every 5-minute tick just like we get the drizzlewood coast every 10-minute tick? Of course the contents would have to be toned down to about 1/2 of what drizzlewood gives, since wvw ticks twice in 10 minutes (I know each borderland has a lot more objectives than drizlewood, but it can't be expected a server to control all of them (I know it happens sometimes, but we are talking about a motive for people to control the objectives, which should stop the steamrolling))

This would solve the issue of low population (more rewards would attract a lot more people), servers couldn't arrange themselves to get maximum rewards because when one of them gets more, the others get less and afk farming shouldn't happen.

    What do you guys think?

Fractal 100CM Skorvald Solo | Condi Firebrand

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 07:13 PM PDT

    Hey everyone!

I was working on soloing some hard content and the first one I did was Skorvald the Shattered, the first boss of Fractal 100 on Challenge Mote. I didn't break a record and wasn't happy with some things, but the time is pretty decent and I think no one did that boss solo on Condi Firebrand before. So, here it is. There may follow some other solo videos in the future.

    Fractal 100CM | Skorvald Solo (7:36) | Condi Firebrand

If you are interested in details for the kill, check the video description.

    I hope you like it!

How to use firework launchers so that they always count for daily or achievement

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 12:15 AM PDT

You may have seen that you don't always get credit for using a firework launcher. I thought it was bugged.

    But it's not bugged.

The launchers are shared : everyone can see your fireworks. If you use a launcher immediately after someone else, it won't launch another firework while the first one is still being launched. So you didn't launch a firework, so you don't get credit.

Simply wait for the launching animation to be completed (you don't have to wait for the firework itself)

What kind of content would you like to see out of someone making regular GW2 videos?

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 03:36 AM PDT

So there is a severe lack of guild wars 2 media content. Twitch views are low for the game and i am extremely passionate about the game. Just not sure what most people would be interested in watching. Give me some topics or video ideas!

Any suggestions for what I should do to have fun? :3

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 05:58 AM PDT

Hi reddit :) I'm new to reddit so uh if this is bad I'm sorry :p. Like the title says I was wondering if you guys could suggest things to do in game :). I've been doing map complete but after a while that really gets boring....:( and I've wanted to work on things like diving into fractals and things but I feel like I'm not going to be good enough and will get called a noob in pubs. I know that's the point of doing low tier fractals, but it's happened in what I thought was casual Ascalonian story mode dungeons which are said to be dead-ish. So fractals which are more active seems a lot more daunting when you're inexperienced. I guess I could join a guild that helps train for fractals too so that is on me, I'm just really shy for meeting people other than random encounters in game. But maybe I'll look into that :). But to get into them don't I need ascended gear? I leveled my crafting to 500 by spending some irl money for a chunk of gold, but I'd prefer to not go the "p2w" route. I know it's not actual pay 2 win as much as pay to skip content but grinding for some of those materials would take forever if we're being honest XD. I also do gold farming in Silverwastes and Auric basin, but it doesn't feel like I net that much from them. The best I've ever made was 70 something gold on a really good day of farming for hours on end in Silverwastes. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong, but I've watched guides, read forums, here etc and I feel like I'm doing what they say, I just don't earn noticeable gains usually. So it feels so slow like I'm putting in effort all day with little to no return. So the thought of making a legendary, is very far away for me haha. And story is story. I've done story but I personally don't enjoy story in a replay aspect. I can't really get into this games story very much like I do other games. Thanks for all replies ^ Also if my class matters I main spellbreaker warrior as of rn. I have a few other alts but I don't really enjoy the other classes as much, I just play them when I want to to take a break from warrior.

Anyone know currently active daily meta guilds?

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 04:00 AM PDT

I used to play with EVA every morning for HoT meta trains, and got some good drops, but then had an inactivity streak and was kicked. Was picking the game back up for a while and wondering if anyone knew of guilds that regularly organise meta runs that are not EVA because they operate a little too early for my schedule, and would rather commit to a guild I can have consistent participation in. Preferably they would follow an afternoon schedule for EST.

The "Destroy the Risen broodmother" event in Cursed Shore can fail to spawn, preventing Rakkan from transitioning into a merchant and blocking players from collecting an item required for the Juggernaut III collection.

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 07:46 AM PDT

    The "Destroy the Risen broodmother" event in Cursed Shore can fail to spawn, preventing Rakkan from transitioning into a merchant and blocking players from collecting an item required for the Juggernaut III collection. Is this still bugged?? I have raised tickets and this was my responce;

" I understand you're reaching out to us regarding an event that has stalled and is now blocking your progression. Unfortunately, we Game Masters are unable to force these events to start, nor are we able to provide rewards for events that were attempted or completed. With this being the case, we'll have to ask you to complete the event once more.

You can attempt to find a Map Instance in which this Event is working as intended by using the LFG tool to find a group in this zone. Once you join this group, you can switch the Map Instance to see if the event there is progressing as intended. You can check if you're on another Map Instance by using the /ip chat command using the In-Game chat window. If the IP is different from the last time you used it, this means you're on a new instance. If all else fails, please attempt this event after the Daily Reset at 0:00 UTC, as events are reset during this time.

While I couldn't help in this case, I do hope you continue to reach out if there's anything else we may be able to help you with."

I know it used to spawn quite often but I have tried for weeks to get this, loggin in everyday and swapping to my character parked there at different times and I have never seen the even let alone the merchant. So it seems like it is still bugged and its pretty annoying not being able to proceed with the precuser collection...

    Map Sharding Woes, Yes Again

    Posted: 24 Jun 2020 09:24 PM PDT

I know this is a topic that crops up again and again and again, but there's a reason why that happens and it's because it's never addressed in any way.

Map instancing in this game sucks. That really is the short of it.

Some maps get overfilled with people while others are half empty and barely (if at all) manage to succeed metas. Trying to join a living one is an exercise in frustration if they're full.

At times maps get flagged as deprecated for seemingly no good reason, and then you get thrown into another deprecated map. The fact maps even have to undergo this process with so many people still stuck in the deprecated shards is baffling. Clearly whatever sorting process is handling this it's not doing a good enough job.

You can be grouped with a squad of mutuals all of whom are in your guild and then leave a Strike/Instance only to get thrown into 5 different shards of the same map and have to manually rejoin one another.

Sometimes you go to a meta map only to be dumped in an RP hotspot, which is all great and I love RP too, but that also means you need to find another shard that isn't being swamped with people not doing anything to progress it.

The real sad thing is that this isn't even scratching the surface of the never ending pool of sharding issues.

I realize that this is a technical issue, one that isn't so easy to resolve, but if automating it isn't working and it clearly is not, then why not just let us pick our maps ourselves? Just to emphasize this, I actually don't like manual map selection for a number of reasons but if this isn't working then I'd rather have that.
