    What gw2 is really like

    Posted: 07 May 2020 07:38 AM PDT

Sometimes this game looks like a painting. The artists on GW2 are awesome!

    Posted: 06 May 2020 09:36 AM PDT

My friend made this for me 5 years ago. I was planning on posting this here at the time but lost interest in the game before I could. Now that I'm back and absolutely loving the game again, I think it's high time I shared his awesome artwork of my thief and warrior!

What do I do with all of these skins?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 11:49 PM PDT

Getting right to the point - I just finished the King Toad collection, so i currently have 16 skins sitting in my bank (since they unlock when you get them these are just extra).

Currently i see two options - either keep them for no reason (because what are transmutation charges), or throw them away.

I'm sure some of you have been in a similar predicament. I'd like to see Anet give us an option to maybe toss them in the mystic forge and get a random skin, convert them into transmutation charges.. something.. throwing them away just feels like a waste.

    anyways, thoughts?

Nevermore pain. Friend of the owl spirit.

I can't for the life of me get this. It was almost a failed event when some dude came and killed the veteran. It's been hours and I cant do this. People suck. I have offered gold to those who attacked him to stop, but they just wanted to fuck me over. I just wanna finish my legendary. There's always that one asshole.

I've returning after a number of years away from the game, what should I do?

    Posted: 07 May 2020 07:41 AM PDT

I'm level 80, I've pretty much forgotten how to play the game, I bought the Path of Fire expac today, and am doing that, but I feel REALLY squishy!

I have full level 80 "draconic" gear, where should I farm to get better gear so I don't feel so squishy?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Gw2 artists for gold?(looking for artist)

    Posted: 07 May 2020 07:20 AM PDT

Howdy all. I'm wondering if the whole "character art for gold" community is still alive in any capacity, as I've been gone for a long minute. If anyone knows of people still making those trades, could you point me towards them?

Trying to pick a main... Even though I know I can be an alt-o-holic

    Posted: 07 May 2020 06:58 AM PDT

I know this game allows me to be an alt-o-holic but I really want to focus on one character for my "Fashion Wars 2" experience... I want to be able to efficiently do farms like Silverwastes and LS4 Train and maybe be able to solo things like arah, icebrood construct, ect. The problem for me is that it doesn't seem there's many classes that can heal well in T4 fractals other than Firebrand and Druid and maybe Tempest Ele, I was thinking of giving scrapper heals or maybe heal mesmer but I heard they're really bad comparatively.

    Weavers in SPvP

    Posted: 07 May 2020 06:37 AM PDT

Hi, i started about 2 months back and love the pvp in this game, enough to get gold ranked just recently, but with that comes my question if there are any remaining sword builds out there? As i feel i need to abandon sword/dagger LR to keep climbing, or at least not be a hinderance to my team.

I'v tried the d/f build currently advertised but i feel "naked" without the mobility of sword 2s. I'v seen a bunch old builds like water and fire weavers but idk how hard years of patches hit these.

So if any fellow weavers could pitch in i would greatly appreciate it.

Is the deluxe version worth it half off?

    Posted: 07 May 2020 12:09 AM PDT

The deluxe edition is half off currently and I'm wondering if it's worth it. I've been reading up on it and most people say it's not worth it considering you can get other passes instead of the Lily of elon, but is it worth it while half off? It comes with a character slot too which I like. Thoughts?

    Dailies versus Z-quests

    Posted: 06 May 2020 09:43 AM PDT

Guild Wars 2. Many people like to call it "something wars 2" to make a point. It's my turn today : "Dailies War 2"

    Dailies War 2

This game started with daily achievements for some not-then-limited AP, as well as daily reset for jumping puzzle and rich nodes. Over the years, making things "daily" became a recurrent design pattern.

Daily fractals, daily strikes, daily gated crafts, daily home instance gathering, daily converters/gobblers, daily guild halls (gathering, merchant), daily reward reset for puzzles, daily dungeons, daily festival checks for the festival skins, daily meta-events, daily world bosses, daily, daily, daily.

Well, this is not a rant post against the existence of daily things. Anet has good reasons to make them (or at least some of them). That said, I think that some of the above list has become a routine for many players ... or a daily chore for some. In my case, I stacked the daily login with daily gatherings (they became a chore but reeeee I invested a lot of gold and € in the instance, not doing it would be a loss of my past investment - sunken cost fallacy intensifies), daily gobblers+craft, daily strikes and daily festivals. I had to give up on daily fractals (and fractals as a whole) because it added too much daily routine time sink (among other reasons). It would probably be possible to quit one's job and become a sleepless robot, and fill 24 hours with "daily" routine.

I also think that shoehorning "daily" mechanics in festivals makes them boring, but it's just my opinion : maybe some people would simply not play them otherwise or like to be driven through festivals with an indication of a few short activities each day.

    Zaishen Quests

They're in Guild Wars 1. Years of playing GW2 altered my memory into thinking that Z-quests are GW1's dailies.

Well, I went back to some GW1 because of the 15th anniversary update, and saw that I had some Z-quests lying around. Yup : Z-quests were not totally daily !

Basically, everyday you have 3 Z-quests available. You have to log in, and you have to specifically go to the quest givers : otherwise you "miss" the daily quest and a different one will be available tomorrow. Like GW2 daily mechanics. However, there is a big difference : once you accepted a Z-quest, you don't have to do it today. You can come back tomorrow and accept other Z-quests, and then do 2 days worth of quests. Or log in every day to accept quests but do them all during the weekend. A Z-quest is only "wasted" if you wait long enough that the new daily quest is the same (you can't accept 2 identical quests).

I think it was a really good compromise. I'm not saying that everything in gw2 should (or can) use that mechanic, but it'd sure alleviate "dailies wars 2" if some Zaishen wisdom made it into the game :-)

Why would GW1 not be on sale right now?

    Posted: 07 May 2020 07:21 AM PDT

How is it possible that Full Access to Gw2 right now is 14,99EUR and Gw1 amounts to a startling 39,99EUR? There is a reason for this, right? Everything else on the gw1 shop is on sale but the game.

Can anyone help me understand that?

Can i go through this game without crafting?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 02:14 PM PDT

I feel like I can go through this game without crafting...

And I have so much gold in my material storage....like 425 golds worth....

To clarify, I don't really plan on doing legendary crafting and that's really the only thing I can think of I may need these mats for...
