Why do people leave their characters AFK for days/weeks on end? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 11:32 AM PDT I don't get this kind of mentality. Like, what's the point of leaving your computer on for such long periods of time? No one is gaining anything out of it except adding a few more digits to their electricity bill (and potentially damage their computers in the long run). But I've been really enjoying this way of playing and wanted to share it... I've found I much prefer the pacing of this play style, with 8 person team in hard mode there's just too much going on on the screen for me to be able to do much more than spam skills. Now when I play healer I can see which hero is being targeted etc. Also normal mode changes mob armour & behaviour so different skills become viable. The rules are as malleable as you want them to be, this is just a way of forcing thinking outside the box in terms of build crafting and playstyle. Rules: Half usual party size No elite skills from builds in the 'great' or 'meta' sections on PVX, only 2 or 3 non-elite skills per build from these sections and nothing imba like splinter weapon. More 'points' awarded for very underused and seemingly underpowered skills especially elites. No spirits or minions You could combine it with ironman rules if you wanted too. Basically choose an unusual concept, like a dervish healer, signet monk, melee necro, whatever - and make a team build around this, following the same rules for the heroes. Some builds I've made from this play style: Ravenous Gaze melee necro OApkQwGpqsOjXzG6GmDrXBRVN8C (take dark aura on a hero) Avatar of Dwayna heal/prot OgOj8orK7O637q9VLKepv733LA Signet of Judgment monk hero OwUEI1s948YSs+okeAyPfAReAA and currently trying to come up with a contagion team, here's what I have so far... Player build: contagion // EVAS // ebon escape // poison heart // sig of agony // stoneflesh aura // crystal wave // dark aura (need to fit masochism in here somehow too..) hero: fevered dreams // fragility // sig of clumsiness // epidemic hero: scribe's insight // sig of deadly corruption // sig of toxic shock // sadist's sig // sig of devotion // life bond // aegis // spirit bond and a healer of some sort... [Help] GW1 Keep asking me to download Posted: 12 Apr 2020 08:38 AM PDT I downloaded 2.2 GB files already from Steam and when I start the game, it starts downloading what I assume a launcher which is around 80mb and it took 45minutes. Now once I'm in thinking that my suffering is no more, the game wanted to download another 11k files or so with speed of 20-30kb/s. Is it meant to be like this? Download issues? Posted: 12 Apr 2020 02:07 PM PDT I've been replaying GW lately and haven't had any issues until recently. When trying to enter Jahai Bluffs, the loading stops at 99% and perpetually alternates between "connecting" and "decompressing". I gave up on that and did some other content for a while, and wanted to try some PVP. I encountered the same problem trying to enter RA, except at a lower percentage. I uninstalled and am doing a clean install, and it went smoothly until 13%. Now it's alternating between "connecting" and "downloading" but no progress is being made.
