Suggestion for dungeon vendor: Make each dungeon its own tab

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 02:31 AM PDT

Recently i found myself interested into dungeon armor/weapon skins. What i find pretty annoying is that if you go to the LA dungeon vendor and want to browse hiws wares you choose the respective dungeon, but if you want to see skins from another dungeon you have to close the vendor and again start the conversation. IMO would be much more practical if each dungeon was its own tab-you would talk to the vendor just once and then you would be free to browse everything he has to offer(similar to the fractal merchants with plenty of tabs).

They should let us add enemies to guild halls

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 02:13 PM PDT

Since Guild Halls started, I always felt like they had a massive opportunity for player-made content.

Their potential with (affordable) decorations only came to fruition many years later. However, they're still too big for just simple decorating purposes and showing them off. Services themselves only take up a small portion of the guild hall.

Here's my proposal: Let us add foes to guild halls. (Similar to decorations)

We could use the ludicrously huge space of Lost Precipice to make our own dungeon.

Perhaps they could also consider letting us use the Arena decorations outside the Arena, so things like the turrets provide additional obstacles to overcome?

Imagine spending Fractal Relics would allow us to buy Toxic Alliance enemies? Or even the Mossman himself? What if we could spend Aah tokens and plop a few Risen around our guild hall?

Maybe if we get enough raid tokens, we can even buy a toned down version of RAID BOSSES for our guild hall? Such as Sabetha or Gorseval without the platform mechanic. Kinda like what they did with Vale Guardian in Bloodstone Fen?

With SAB, maybe they could even add SAB-themed enemies?

These enemies don't have to give loot. It doesn't even need to be guild hall-wide. They could even limit it to the arena.

But I simply think it would be such a cool idea to invite other players into my creation and challenge them to it. I also think it would self-sustain the community for a long time between raid/dungeon releases.

What do you think of this idea?

    High trait synergy builds

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 04:53 AM PDT

I love that this game allows fun builds that you can use in a non endgame content, mostly in open world, world bosses, story, etc.

During all these years, i always tried to come up with builds that make traits works togheter to add very cool effects to the class

The last build i made, it's the SPELLBREAKER SUPER DUPER MIGHT DUDE THAT CAN FACETANK ELDER DRAGONS, and i seriously love how much traits in this build synergize with each other to spawn so many effects at once.. for example, with dagger autoattack, i build up might, that heals me, empower my allies [that heals me as well], and i get a percentage of damage as heal as well.. my dodges gives me might, with might i get also endurance, so i can dodge so much, my breakstun gives might as well, everything gives me might, it just works.

In the past, i tried this playstile with daredevil\deadeye as well, using envigorating precision, assassin's reward and signet of malice combo.

Even tempest, with regen on auras, and condi remove on regen is awesome.

But i never been able to do the same with other classes i'm not so familiar, like mesmer and engi.

Do you mind sharing builds that works so good combining different traits?

Why are the Raid Challenge Modes with rewards not repeatable?

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 07:23 AM PDT

Seariously. That is probably easiest, fastest and smartest move that Arenanet could ever make.

People do Fractal CMs almost every day because there is a reason to do them multiple times, so why are there no rewards for repeating raid CMs?

4 wings with Challenge Modes would create so much repeatable challenging content. It would revive so much endgame, even when we only get 1 Raid/year (Which is absolutely terrible but that's different topic).

    Pros:

-Mechanics are already in there, only implement repeatable weekly rewards and you are done. That is most likely easier to implement than create a cutscene for living story instance that is played once and never seen again. Maybe

    - Reward advanced and skilled players with new cool or gold rewards. Would breath some new life into older content. Currently even strikes are more lucrative than raids.

-People would aim to get even better at the game, because they know they could make more money by doing CMs instead of regular modes. I miss seeing people actively trying to improve. Now its so stale and training guilds are dying down.

    - It creates difficulty modes that are popular and prooved to be really effective in other MMOS.

    Cons:

    - People with no hands are going to get mad because it would be too hard to play with your nose.

    - One less cutscene developed in non-repeatable story instance.

Just imagine getting Dhuum Legs or chest piece as reward from 10 CM completions or new infusion. (These are just examples but you get my point)

GW2 Path of Fire Giveaway Contest V2.0

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 07:22 AM PDT

Since there were so many people interested in the first giveaway, I decided to do a second giveaway, but with a twist. While the original giveaway was randomly selected winners, this will be done as a contest.

    Contest Rules:

    1. ONE comment per participant (based on reddit username), commenting more than once will disqualify you.
    2. In order to be eligible to win, you must have at least one comment/post older than 1 week visible on your account (does not have to be from this subreddit -- this is just to ensure the winners aren't from alt accounts created just for this contest)
    3. You comment must include the name of your favorite map in Guild Wars (can be GW2 or GW1) along with a short reason you picked it (can be just about any reason -- a map mechanic, memory of something you did there, visual features, etc.). If english is not your primary language, don't worry, just do your best -- google translate is a great tool. This is primarily to weed out potential bots.
    4. The three comments with the LOWEST score will be selected as the winners. In the case of a tie, the OLDEST comment with that score will be considered the winner. Commenting as early as possible will help your chances, and downvotes to your comment and upvotes your competitors' comments will also help.
    5. All comments must be made before 12:00pm United States Eastern Time on 4/18 to be eligible to win.
    6. Upvoting/Downvoting will continue until 12:00pm United States Eastern Time on 4/19, and the winners will be announced based on comment score (and comment age in the case of a tie)

    Prizes:

1st Place: Path of Fire Deluxe Edition

2nd Place: Path of Fire Standard Edition

3rd Place: Path of Fire Standard Edition

Good luck, and may the odds be ever... I guess... against you in this case.

What is the community's current perception of / and stance towards Necromancers in Raids and Fractals?

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 05:38 AM PDT

Due to current events I have more time on my hands and I wanted to revisit Guild Wars 2.

I last played when PoF was released and I played through its story. Although I'm always logging into the game to get the living story.

I wanted to level a Guardian or Necromancer but settled on Necro.

But if I remember correctly they were laughed at back in the day and were considered a "meme" profession for endgame PvE. If I were to start a new Necromancer how much resistance and maybe even disdain should I expect when I'd try to find a group for Fractals and Raids?

Or are people more welcoming, accepting, open minded nowadays?

    Thank you!

It seems the Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock change is retroactive?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:31 PM PDT

According to https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/g1svzp/guaranteed_wardrobe_update_details_april_16_2020/ a bunch of glider skins got removed from the Guaranteed Wardrobe Unlock as a result of merging them with their back items.

It seems that as a consequence of that change if you previously got only the back item(reverse might also be true) from a GWU the glider is now unlocked as well. At least that seems to be what happened with my Wild Magic Backpack. It is also possible I might have just gotten the glider unlocked with another GWU as well since I don't care about that glider I wouldn't bother remembering.
