I believe a Tengu playable race would be a waste of resources Posted: 18 Apr 2020 11:51 PM PDT I believe a Tengu playable race would be a waste of resources. Now I would like to give an argument to stand on, so this criticism dont come off as being a hater or anything. GW2 is all about Fashion Wars. And Fashion in the game change based on the race that is wearing the equipment. One of the major issues I remember seeing as a complaint about Charr race was the poor Armor clipping and how the Armor looks disfigured poorly on Charr such as the Charr Elongated Neck which could greatly altar the looks of head armor parts. I personally have two Charr, one being a more mainish character which is a Necromancer, and boy/girl let me tell you. Reaper hood looks terrible on my Charr. SMH. looks so cool generally but on the Charr it looks very awkward. Because of this, I theorize that these are many of the contributing factors as to why Charr are one of the least played character races in the game according to GW2Efficiency.com data collection sample size. Now lets look at the Tengu in GW2. They appear to be reskinned Charr with Bird features instead of Cats. Seem like it would share in many of these same issues the Charr has. But not just that. To make a new playable Tengu Race, new Voice Actors have to be called in for all the future Living World Story stuff, and maybe even a new Low Level Zone will have to be introduced for them to level in, which unless these zones have meaningful endgame content, will be a total waste of resources just like many past Living World maps that have died over the years All of this for a new race that most may play initially to try it out but likely not to stick around with. Racials are also a cool nod in the game, but its just more of a novelty toy. That fades off especially as players start doing serious content such as group PvE, SPVP, WvW all of which the avg person doesnt use Racials unless they just bored and want something random and new to play with. All that said, it just seem like a waste of resources if most people wont even play the race long term after the hype and buzz dies down from the idea of getting a new race, if that were to ever happen. When something just doesn't quite look right... Posted: 18 Apr 2020 09:00 PM PDT
The Heart of Maguuma zones were something special Posted: 18 Apr 2020 04:37 PM PDT I am a returning player who quit before HoT came out, bought the expansions about a month and a half ago and have been completing all the expansion stories and maps in order. I kinda hated the Heart of Maguuma zones at first, having to constantly check the wiki or youtube to get that elusive Point of Interest was aggravating. I felt lost all the time and the layered map didnt help much. The crystal desert was a relief for me, the mounts were convenient but something was missing.... I am now in this map in the LW Season 4 that has these anomaly zones, and one of them was a mini-maguuma jungle.. and the feelings hit me. How can I feel nostalgic for something that I had completed weeks ago? I clearly misjudged the maguuma jungle, exploring it was a blast and the verticality is unlike anything I have seen in an mmorpg before. The crystal desert is easy to navigate but nothing is sticking in my memory, the zones just come and go, but I will never ever forget the jungle. [link] [comments]

[Reminder] Josh Foreman's SAB Commentary Run Posted: 18 Apr 2020 09:25 AM PDT Just as a reminder, today at 1pm PST and 4pm PST Josh Foreman will be doing a commentary run of SAB. If you're new to SAB, Josh birthed the concept of SAB as an April Fools joke that has now become a yearly festival. He will be giving his thoughts and various insights about the festival. You can catch the stream over at his twitch.
I believe Josh is only doing this as a one time event, so if you're interested in the creation process behind this festival, you won't want to miss this. [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Apr 2020 05:56 AM PDT Does it need 3 copper per single use or does it need 3 copper to salvage all items in your bagspace? Thanks! [link] [comments]
The buggy ass jumping pads are destroying the fun in sab this year Posted: 19 Apr 2020 05:33 AM PDT Im on death 20 now because of the bugged jumping pads that only throw you up with like a 50% chance so half the time you just walk off of them trying to jump far :DDD I'm trying to get to the 10th shop in 1-3 tribulation, that is on top of the 7 or 8 jumping pad path to hell, so much fun let me tell you that [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Apr 2020 05:06 AM PDT So I kind of haven't played this game for 2 or 3 years and wanted to come back. I had some stuff on this account before and noticed my rogue main's eyes glow but the other characters who have the same character creation settings don't. Anyone could tell me where the "glow" effect is coming from? [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Apr 2020 04:25 AM PDT Hey everyone, just started playing with a friend, I'm a human and he's a sylvari, can I go to where he is right now? We started in different zones. And if I can, where is he on the map? Thanks. [link] [comments]

What do you guys do with your other characters? Posted: 18 Apr 2020 10:00 PM PDT I have 12 characters as I wanted to try all classes and races some classes I have double off. I usually place mine at the end of JPs and simply log in everyday to collect the treasure. I'm just checking if there is a more efficient way to use them. I know there was a thread on this already but that one is 3 years old. I thought maybe there will be something that wasn't covered before Many thanks in advance ☺ [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Apr 2020 05:54 AM PDT So I've noticed some players having a kind of creepy music box sounds coming from them but they aren't playing any instruments, it just is there. I can't figure out what it is. Anyone knows what it could be? [link] [comments]
Fractal CM Tricks of the Trade Posted: 18 Apr 2020 09:55 PM PDT As I've been getting more experience with Fractal CM's, I've noticed that there are quite a few tricks that people have developed over the years and have pretty much become the norm. Now, I'm a player that really likes to research what I'm getting into so that I can multi class and have a basic idea as to what to expect when going into the more difficult fights and I've noticed a few things that aren't posted on the end game guide sites like Discretize (which mainly focus on maximizing everything and basically ignoring all mechanics). For HB and Revenant what builds are you using for 100cm and to which skills are used to mitigate which parts of the fight? As for 99cm I've been *scolded* quite heavily for dodging Siax's red PBAoE (I think it's blockable, though it seems a little risky to me) and I'm not quite sure how groups are able to make it so he doesn't Vomit his toxin though, luckliy? most of my groups are able to avoid it. So I thought that maybe the community could enlighten me on some *need to know mechanics when pugging CM's*. [link] [comments] |
