Need some help deciding on a profession for my next project - details inside Posted: 06 Nov 2019 09:11 PM PST So after not playing for about 2/3 years I've finally managed to stop hesitating and I maxed the Kurzick and Luxon titles and now my Paragon is finally a GWAMM. I was hooked again. After reading a post here from a couple of days ago, I've decided to try my hands on my own little challenge. No trading (the character has to farm for everything even though i have another Character who could do that more efficient), no stash (I've already cleared two pages for stuff to keep), no bonus items, getting a Tormented Weapon and Shield(no practical use, just like the looks of it), Obsidian-Armor, every elite area in NM and potentially HM. I know that for many that is not really a challenge, but the concept seems like fun. Unfortunately here lies my problem. After thinking about possible professions - based on personal interest/fun, ability to create a gold income through material/weapon farm, and the potential to farm the necessary Ectos and Shards, I've been able to take five professions out of the race. Paragon, Dervish, Assassin, Warrior and Ritualist. Thankfully because of the BiP hero team my own profession and/or build plays a secondary role, I'm not really putting too much weight on that part of the deciding process. Looking at the parameters, I think that Ranger, Monk and Elementalist pull ahead of Mesmer and Necromancer, simply because of different areas they are able to farm. This leaves me with the three professions, and I can't really point out a thing where one of them might be superior to the others, exception maybe Build-variety for Ranger and Ele, as I'd rather not run a healing build in this endeavour. Under these circumstances, would you create a Ranger, a Monk or an Elementalist? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Nov 2019 06:09 PM PST Hey everyone; looking for some advice. Been trying to play this game for a few weeks now but for some reason I'm having connectivity issues. Im playing on a MacBook pro (I know, sorry) with a Wine wrapper and usually my internet is very stable. However, as soon as I open the game or get into a populated area/high server activity, my wifi just turns off. It then does this dance where it tries to reconnect and then fails a few times and then finally regains connectivity. It's really not letting me enjoy this great game. I don't see this issue when I'm streaming netflix or youtube; only when I'm playing the game. Anyone have any recs? [link] [comments]
Trying to get back into my old account after 8+ years.... Posted: 06 Nov 2019 05:53 AM PST So I remember getting the original guildwars all the way back in 2005, then Nightfall... Played for quite some time but stopped. Today, after at least 8 years I've decided I want to play again. Just looking for some advice on the best course of action. I can remember my old account name and password, but I cant remember the name of any of the characters on the account. The other issue is that the email address I did used for the account was hacked at least 7 years ago and I never managed to get it back. I also dont think the account is linked to arenanet either :( I have the original cases with the CDkeys (just got to find them) and I know the old address I would have had on file. What is the best course of action for going about getting access to this account again? When I log into arenanet is the old details for the account work, but it just sends me to the GW2 support page and doesn't show any games linked. Arg! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Nov 2019 10:27 AM PST Hey guys, I picked the the Guild Wars Complete Edition a few days ago, I figured I would start with Prophecies and then work my way into the order campaigns in the order they came out. I ended up making a Monk because out of all the core professions I liked their character models the best, I was wondering if someone could help me with a proficient DPS build. I normally DO play healers, however due to the henchmen/heroes system I rather just play DPS than worry about healing the AI. Thanks! Also any advice at all is super appreciated <3 [link] [comments]
