Uncommon opinion - Sit animation for mounts.

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 08:03 AM PST

Not sure if anyone cares about this, but i really like the idea of having a sit animation for all the mounts, some of them like the raptors already have it included in their idle animation, and it'll be awesome if you can use /sit to trigger it! Comments?

    Story Instances and Dungeons

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 07:36 AM PST

I've recently picked up this game again like I always do from time to time, mostly because I love the series despite its flaws (and lets be fair, what game doesn't?) and one thing I noticed is how... intricate some of the story instances actually are. In fact, many of the more combat focused ones would make for extremely good party content. However, they're doomed to be one-and-done content since they're linked to the story and re-running them makes for little to no value. Since I've been playing FFXIV as well lately I've been wondering... why not turn those single player instances into dungeons?

You would unlock the story mode normally as part of the Living World, play through it as per usual with AI and such and, after finishing, you unlock the good ol' explorable mode, which is just one path. For this, they'd take the story path, possibly swap the story/dialogue behind it and make some adjustments to the encounters within the instance, e.g. HP, enemy rank, rewards and possibly do model swaps. Alternatively, for even less effort involved, make the story mode repeatable as group instance, do not change the story/dialogue or do any model swaps and simply make some adjustments to encounters and rewards. Dungeon Tokens would be given out as usual with the type of Token being dependant on the point of release. For example, LS4 dungeons would have one type of Token, core PoF dungeons another. The shop would expand as more dungeons get added and the rewards could vary from armor/weapons to general useful stuff like sought after materials. Since the shops would gradually expand, there would have to be a cap on the amount of Tokens you can hold, but I don't think it'd be a big deal.

How I see it, this would give players more instanced 5 man content to farm on a regular basis without being tied to fractals (you can only fit so many of them into four tiers of 25), sporting a relatively moderate difficulty which, as always, can be pseudo-adjusted by lowmanning it while their content sees more day-to-day use, not "wasting" resources on sometimes very fun and interesting instances which the majority of players see once, or however many characters they push through Living World. As an added bonus, certain of the bigger story bosses could be turned into Strike Missions after players cleared their story equivalent, though those would require more adjustments I'd argue. The one downside I personally see is that putting dungeons (and strike missions) behind Living World might feel like the game is forcing you to play through the story to get content which is something I dislike in XIV, however here we have the advantage of being able to jump between story chapters at a whim, which makes unlocking these dungeons in order to play with friends a lot more easy.

Overall, I think it'd be a good way to keep some more permanent content in the game while expending not that many more resources and offering a bit more diversity for those who e.g. do not want to run fractals.

    Getting Back into GW2

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 05:40 AM PST

Hello, i haven't played guild wars 2 in a long long time and just recently bought the expansions. I was wondering how the community is looking, what would be the best choices to play and also if the game is leaning toward pvp or pve :D thank you all for your time

Did the meta change since HoT release?

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 04:26 AM PST

I am a returning player who wants to finally experience the HoT expansion and probably the other expansion as wel. Back when i played it most people just ran berserker armor and tried to get as much crit% and power to just max out dps. Did any of this change?

Joining after years of WoW worth it?

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 03:11 AM PST

I have played World of Warcraft for about 5-6 years. Have quit for about 6-8 months now because I was sick of the grind and I loved playing PvP. The Pvp used to be really awesome and they messed that up. Now I wonder how the PvP is in Guild Wars and if it's worth playing. I have been thinking about starting to play the game, but don't feel like spending money and time on a game I end up disliking when I reach end game.

    Appreciate your time!

So did they fix Revenant templates

    Posted: 18 Nov 2019 09:09 PM PST

So with the dev post about templates coming out, and since I haven't logged in since those atrocious templates came out and royally messed up revenants and their legends. I'm coming back tomorrow for the story update and was wondering if I can actually setup my builds or do I just have to continue to stick out without templates for now?
