@NCSOFT_West @ArenaNet @GuildWars2 @GuildWars In guildwars 1 there is a guild using cheats that keeps winning the monthly tournament for the last 3 months.. no bans yet.. is anyone moderating the game or just letting it go to the dogs? interupt bots, cancel cast bots, etc...

GW left a void in my life

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 10:41 AM PDT

Listening to thje sound track in my living room, volume up, sound system is pretty decent so it came across more powerful, more meaningful the louder it was.

It made me realise, although I wasn't a "hardcore" player, it's really left a void in terms of gaming for hours. I remember most the start game better then any other...just wish it was 2006 again for me!

    How do I play ritualist?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 08:48 PM PDT

So a group of friends and I are doing a playthrough of all the campaigns to soak up all the lore and we just started factions. Back when I used to play this game regularly I always wanted to try out ritualist but never got around to it. Since we decided to start new characters in factions for the full lore experience, I figured it was long over do. That being said, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm looking for some tips on how to play rit, especially during the leveling process. Any help you all can provide would be great.

Vanilla Vanquishers [VNLA] - when you need your daily dose of GW vanilla and iron!

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 09:01 AM PDT

We are here to support players looking for that vanilla/iron/chronological Guild Wars experience on both sides of the Atlantic. If you're not sure what vanilla means, check out our Discord (https://discord.gg/4ut9y5u), beginning with the #starting-a-character and #guidelines channels. Vanilla is playing through the game in the spirit of how it was originally released, one campaign at a time. If you're not sure what iron play is, that can depend on what the individual is trying to accomplish. For some excellent ideas on iron play, you can start with https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User:Hazedesunna/Ironman, and there are many more here on Reddit, YouTube, etc.

Many of us have played our characters through Prophecies and Factions, with some choosing to continue with our Prophecies characters to Factions, and others starting a fresh character in Factions. We have guild members and mercenaries from other guilds following the same guidelines at various points throughout both campaigns. We are also hyped to be starting the NightFall release as a guild this coming weekend! It's a great time to join as we bring characters from the other campaigns in, or start a new dervish, paragon, or even one of the original professions! We'll experience the joy of having heroes for the first time, even though we'll be limiting to 3 heroes per real person as it was when released - vanilla you know!

Hey all, ever since mac hit catalina I haven't been able to run gw1 through the original instructions on that long post from here using wine. I'm curious if anyone knows a solution? I miss the game too much already. Thanks

Best Looking Core Profession From Each Campaign?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 10:04 AM PDT

Since professions end up mostly the same by late/end game, one of the major differences one might consider when creating a new character would be which campaign offers the best looking character. Of course, this only applies to the "core" professions, not ones like Dervish, Ritualist, etc, that are specific to a campaign. The purpose of this post is just to start a conversation. For instance, I'm debating on making a Ranger and I personally think the models/textures for Rangers are not only better looking, but also higher resolution in Nightfall than the other two campaigns (Prophecies, Factions). What are people's thoughts on the different professions per campaign? Why would you choose one over the other?

Ping Increase of 100ms when in pvp vs. pvE/Outposts

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 03:15 PM PDT

My ping in every area of the game outside of PvP arenas, and regardless of the number of people present, is around 20-30ms. But when I join a PvP arena its 120-130ms. Does anyone know why this happens?

    Best Team Build

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 08:39 AM PDT

I saw the post referencing the old RoJ team build and wanted a some advice about a team build in general. I have been using that RoJ team build for the last few years because I thought it was considered a really good build build. Obviously, I have been mistaken.

That said, what team builds are considered meta? No class restrictions, as I have access to mercenary heroes.
