Halloween guide is done - thank you all for your feedback!

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:15 AM PDT

    Hello guys!

First of all I want to say THANK YOU all for your wonderful feedback. I did many updates and I still work on many updates you recommended me.

And look what I have made! https://www.gw2fans.net/inpage/shadow-of-the-mad-king-2019/ it is complete guide for Halloween achievements for year 2019.

Of course I already finished Bound by blood and I tried to make it look nice. https://www.gw2fans.net/inpage/prologue-bound-by-blood/

I even made a new logo for my website and now I work on better website composition and on all the way how to farm. I already did video guides for Springer, Skimmer, Jackal and Griffon and i think i will make video guides for the rest of mounts too.

So guys what do you think?

Mad King's Labyrinth Guide - Map and TacO Markers

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 03:50 AM PDT

tl;dr: Lab map with icon key, download link for taco markers, installation instructions at the end of the post

The Mad King's Labyrinth is available during the in-game Halloween season and is primarily farmed for Trick-or-Treat Bags. The objective of the farm is to tag as many enemies as possible with minimal damage so that the whole squad gets drop loot. Drops may be further increased by maximizing Magic Find.

The Labyrinth can be entered through doors in Lion's Arch and around starter zones, by talking to the Lunatic Boatmaster in Halloween maps, and by using the Invitation to the Mad Realm item that is received in the mail at the start of the event.

Groups will usually be listed as All Doors (opening every door on the map), No Doors (just killing mobs), or Mob Doors Only (only opening the doors which spawn waves of enemies and ignoring the rest). Commanders may or may not also include bosses in their map rotation. When joining a squad in LFG (either Open World -> Central Tyria - Squads or Festivals -> Holiday Cheer - Large Squads), look for squads with less than 25 members for a better chance at instances that aren't full. If you join too many squads in a short time, you may have to wait before joining another one.

General etiquette while in a labyrinth farming squad is to not use knockback skills so the enemies stay stacked up, wait for the Commander to open doors so that they can keep the group together, and remove trinkets (rings, accessories, back, amulet) so that enemies take less damage and more players are able to tag them for loot before they are defeated.

The map shows the meta route which most squads run and explains when to rotate between the inner and outer rings of the route. Hopefully this helps new commanders and players looking to lead or join lab farm groups.

Marker Pack Installation: Update TacO, install marker pack(s), launch GW2, then launch TacO while in game. The newest build for GW2TacO can be found on the dev blog.

    [SC] Duo SE p3 3:28

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:22 AM PDT

    Hello!

We are back with a path that has not been so revisited, sorrow's embrace path 3!

We decided to go with a comp of dragonhunter and chrono which covered pretty much all our needs:

    • High burst and cleave.
    • Solid cc through bane signet/trap/slow/chrono's f3.
    • Good vuln uptime on each boss.
    • Good add management thanks to temporal curtain and Dragon's maw.
    • Good utility through blocks/reflects etc.
    • Some niche skips.
    • Not double pChrono ;) ( I have been forced to write this >:( ).

Altough the perfect run would have been a few seconds faster, we were satisfied with reaching our initial goalof sub 3:30.Not to mention grinding this rng path with Koptev is not fun in the sightest :).

BONUS: Hollaback Girl is now the official SE p3 anthem!!!

    PoVs
    Elu
    Marchen

    Thanks for watching!

The Mad King's Labyrinth: How to make gold, rules, and courtesies

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 03:49 PM PDT

To any new players who joined GW2 in the last year, welcome to Halloween! This has always been a favorite festival of much of the community and we are glad that we get to celebrate it now with you! Of all of the festivities, the Mad King's Labyrinth is easily the most popular because of it's high drop rate for loot in the form of Trick or Treat bags.

When you feel like making some gold, head onto the LFG system under "Core Tyria - Squads" or "Festival Squads" and you will find plenty of commanders running loops around the Lab. Check both since by habit many still list under Core Tyria. Since each instance caps out at 20-25 people, I'd recommend picking a group lower on in the listing, as it will usually fill up quickly enough. (And for the love of God commanders take your group down if it's full.) Groups typically divide into two categories: those that kill the Skeletal Litch and High Viscount of Candy (all boss groups) and groups that skip these bosses. These bosses take more time to kill than they are worth in gold, but are necessary for certain achievements. The third boss, the Skeletal Horror (colloquially known as "Steve") will spawn randomly and will rip apart squads, so all groups kill him on sight.

When running with the squad, the goal is to tag as many mobs as possible, that way you will get their loot when they die. The Core Tyria AOE autoloot mastery is useful here, but regular AOE loot will do if you don't have that. Around the lab will be haunted doors. Let the commander interact with them, and they will trigger events. There are two types of doors: doors that spawn a single veteran creature and doors that spawn a lot of regular creatures. These events scale with the number of players, which is why most maps will be full of players to maximize loot. Everything will have a moment or two of invincibility when they spawn, so don't blow everything immediately. Just keep killing things as they come out and do not knock them away from the group. Overall, if don't run too far ahead and don't open doors, you should have a good time.

As for your gear and skills, there is always some debate as to which is the best, but any build that has range and can do a lot of small packets will do (I prefer shortbow thief). Full Berserkers gear is discouraged, so remove some of your amulets or other armor pieces to lower your dps a bit, but have them ready for bosses. Any skill that pulls mobs towards the group is encouraged, any skill that knocks, launches, or fears them away from the group is discouraged. Remember, the goal is for the entire squad to touch each mob before it dies.

Once you are done, you can either open your bags, sell them, or wait to sell them. Opening them now means you might get one of the rare items, selling them now will get you about 5.5 silver/bag and waiting until about May to June will get you about 12.3 silver per bag. Make sure to sell the trash too, it should net you a few silver.

In general, ask if you have questions. If you are a veteran, don't be an ass to people who are new, we were all there once. We are all want to make a bit of money, enjoy some candycorn, and get ripped apart by Steve.

    Happy hunting!

Is the Commander Free From His/Her Oath?

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 10:23 AM PDT

    Hello

Random unimportant lore trivia. In LWS 3 Ep 6 we (PC) took the oath of confidence of the Shining Blade, i.e. you spill a secret and you die.

Here comes the "but". We died in PoF to Balthazar, and we came back. Does the oath follow a Shining Blade agent to the mists? Does it follow him/her back?

    • Kind regards

100cm World Record - Skorvald the shattered 6.16s

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 01:40 PM PDT

Hey guys Ollie is back at it again with another World Record, this time a speed run. Enjoy.

22s faster than fractal spoons famous6.37s on the filthy god tier power chrono

    World Record video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AXyE-3ixck&feature=youtu.be

    Record information:

Having spent a fair amount of time on different and more lengthy lowman content (Mathias/solo100cmlnhb) I was finally convinced to have a crack at solo speed clearing fractals. So here lies a solo Skorvald 6.16s which rises as 22s faster than the infamous "Fractal Spoon's" 6.37s.

Great thanks to both strider and fractal spoon for conducting the research necessary to beat this world record. Some of the theorycrafting they underwent was utilized within this solo and is listen below:

    • 1st phase - Positioning and attack manipulation
    • 3rd phase - Oh shit stay alive fuck fuck

All that remains is what ide refer to as the "firebrand" theorycrafting for this solo:

    Build:

    http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?PWwAs+dlRwgYVMEGJO+KZPdA-zRZYfhUYGdUU2shILZMiXBdSAHnkgYH8V4N-e

Aegis/ stability - Due to how essential positioning on skorvald, where the slightest positioning mistake will result in Skorvald teleporting, "tanking mechanics" becomes preferable in favor of a dps increase.

It is preferable to jump the wave (while blocking with aegis, and accepting torment stacks) than interrupt your rotation, and risk Skorvald teleporting.

This is especially true for the final phase, where there is one added benefit: "Skorvald will teleport if you're behind him".

Quickness - the build in question focusses on burning as one of its primary dps output. "Imbued Haste" grants 250 condition damage; therefor it is essential to have as much quickness uptime as possible. "liberators vow, stalwart speed", 214AR and the instability "boon overload" aid with quickness uptime.

Might - "Zealous scepter, in conjunction with scepter symbols and boon overload"; provide the solo firebrand with 17.1 average stacks of might throughout the solo.

Fury - "Inner fire" Provides the solo firebrand 100% fury uptime. Unlike cfb counterpart dps classes, 20%+ of its dmg is power. So having fury uptime not only adds extra dmg directly, also indirectly through the "toxic focusing crystal used".
